someone asked the question back on that question post….

"what is in your purse?"

i was shopping yesterday and thought "dang this is so heavy…"

now i know why.

IMG_7482-1

i think it's time to clean it out just a bit.
ha ha ha

so… craft weekend is today.
again.
🙂
i just LOVE when it comes around each month.
we have such a lovely time…making stuff…eating stuff…making new friends.
i heard that there are TWO cheesecakes this month.
its official…diet starts monday!

these are some of my instagrams from this week.

IMG_20121008_092701

(1 Peter in The Message)

IMG_20121008_155423
talby and annie made a double batch of cookies.
i was so glad.
for the cookies….and also the dough.

IMG_20121009_124752
i am considering switching to cheer…purely for the label.
they know me.
they know my needs.

IMG_20121009_133601
i was in charge (self appointed) of getting the pb m&ms for craft weekend.
guess what kimberlee had to buy more of today?

ha!

IMG_20121009_194000
it was senior night at lauren's volleyball game.
the parents went out on the court and everything.
they won their games that night with POWER and confidence….so fun to watch.

there is a new happy wall at the craft house this week!
the house and the rooster were from the sparrow mercantile.
and the print too…she made it for me special.  :)
but i hear she may be making them for her shop too.
lucky you.

IMG_20121010_174227

i am loving it.

IMG_20121011_150615
the swag is all in it's place waiting for all the crafty girls to arrive.
we have so many grrrrrrreat sponsors!
dayspring, crysatl b, paris print ship, broward patch, stampin' up, amy butler, kari machal designs, limeade designs, matthew mead, pam garrison, knitty bitties, bake it pretty and 31gifts!

hope you have a wonderful friday.
follow me on instagram and you can see craft weekend on IG firsrt!

i am meg duerksen on instagram.

and in real life too.

🙂

Amber - I made a pandora station today based on Mumford & Sons and I laughed out loud thinking of you when Phillip Phillips Home was the second song. http://www.pandora.com/stations/share/1091640507528120005
You’re welcome. 🙂

Michelle - I would love to read “The Message”, but when I searched for it, there were tons of books by that title. Who wrote the book you are referring to?

Michelle - I would love to read “The Message”, but when I searched for it, there were tons of books by that title. Who wrote the book you are referring to?

Flower Patch Farmgirl - I thought that Old Navy return was a bag of DRIED BEANS at first. And I thought, For the Love of Pete, Lady!
haha.
You were making me feel good about the state of my purse, with your bag of beans.

Adrienne - My gum is always all over my purse too 😉 looks like y’all are having fun!!

Brooke - Do you know what I like about you? You dont’ try to show everyone how cute and organized your purse is…..or you don’t lay it all out in order. You just keep it real. Thanks for that. I am not going to lie, I want my swag and every other month’s swag at craft weekend. I guess that means I should work for you…so i get one of each swag. Oh man, i wish I had some talent to bring to the CW team. I don’t.
Hope you have an awesome time this weekend!!

mama lola - hope you’re switching sides when carrying your purse!!! how do you fit all of that in your purdy blue bag?
happy crafting!

Trudy - I want to come to craft weekend just to absorb all the good, colorful vibes! And please know you ARE a blessing to so many!
You need to check out the First Friday in Kansas City next month. All the vintage shops downtown (West Bottoms by Kemper) get together and have their shops and flea markets open at the same time. Not only do they have some way cool stuff to buy (I snagged a super shabby chic chandelier!) the inspiration is amazing!

Karen Gerstenberger - Have a wonderful time at CW!

Carrie - Courtney (and sally, below), she talked about it when they first moved. Look in the archives at the end of February and early March.

Su@TheIntentionalHome - I want those hoops and I want that print too. And I am trying to figure out how to wrap fabric around the outer loop???

Jennifer Davis Wood - I had and have the biggest crush on Phillip Phillips and you just reminded me of it! Got to go look up some Phil youtube now:)

Jill - Have you ever had the Peanut Butter and Jelly M&Ms? They are AH-mazing. They are special limited edition…so anytime I see them on the shelf, I stock up. And then hide them so I don’t have to share. 🙂

Southern Gal - We watch AI so we have definitely heard the song and love it. In fact, my son made me play it again today. I say “made me” because he loves it too much and played it so much I banned it for a while. (Then all he did was sing it, especially the ahh-ahh-ahh parts, so I lifted the ban. ;))
I love reading about Craft Weekend.

Courtney - This is all beautiful, but I checked back today because I was curious as to whether you were going to answer as to why your family is living in the rental? I assume this was a business decision to keep your home set up for craft weekends? It is confusing to some who may have missed an explanation somewhere along the way.

sally - So wondering if you are going to explain what is going on with your house situation? No offense, but it is starting to seem odd that your family lives in a cramped rental with one bath while you reserve your beautiful home for down time and craft weekends. Are we missing something?

ko. s - I love your posts! Especially when they are filled with so much random goodness! That’s a lot of stuff in your purse lady! I was at a women’s tea last weekend and we were asked to decorate a hat with whatever was in our purses, lo and behold I had a toy gun in my purse! I was the envy of every table! Ha! On a different topic I’m so glad to see you run in what my hubby calls fashion sunglasses! He thinks I’m nuts for doing it 🙂 Hope its a lovely weekend! Looking forward to seeing all the crafty goodness on IG!

Tiffany - I love so many things about you… but that purse? Oh my. I would die. Can I organize for you when I come for CW next month? 🙂

Tracy Fisher - Ever just had one of those days. Sprinkling outside. Crying inside. PMS? Hormones? Feeling left out of a group outing? Just hearing the words CRAFT WEEKEND cheered me up! I am signing up soon. I swear!! -tracy

mum of all trades - Finally the inside of a handbag that looks like mine! Whenever people show the contents of their bags, its always so clean and streamlined. Love the flowers for the craft house.

Maura - Do you make a double batch in your kitchen aid? I always do a 1 1/2 batch but have been afraid a double batch is too big?? I would love to make more cookies!

jackie grandy - I love all the color in this post from the awesome Hunter boots, to the craft wall and lastly to that amazing photo with the oodles of flowers and pumpkins. I love this time of year so much. The colors are so vibrant. Have a great craft weekend and enjoy the cheesecake. Feel proud of yourself that you ran in 30 degree weather! Just so you know, I wouldn’t be doing that! I’m a total wimp when it comes to cold weather.
xoxo,
Jackie

Jocelyn Pascall - Love the Hunter boots! Have a GREAT weekend!

christy - What a fun, happy post! Love all of the color! Thinking Craft Weekend needs to go on my life list.
Not that you asked me, but I think you should definitely add chickens to your life! We have 4 & they are fun, and silly & YES, they are fast! We let our free range in the yard (sometimes) & chasing them around to put them in the coop is hilarious fun. We have one “prodcution red”, one more peach & 2 that are black & white, but different from one another. They love to eat meal worms as a snack, they go NUTS!

Kimberly - Ever since I discovered Hunter boots I’ve wanted yellow pair! Love!!

Emily - Why is it that Orbitz gum NEVER stays in it’s pack once you open it!!??!! That purse looks like mine!

Megan - You are amazing, and I hope to come to craft weekend sometime!! I would love it.

Sierra - Oh man, I seriously laughed out loud when I saw what all was in your purse. 🙂 Isn’t it funny how much stuff we can cram into them? haha Also, that is a super happy backseat! 🙂 Hope you ladies all have a great weekend.

Wendy - … & the flowers … & gords … & yellow rubber boots too!

Wendy - Love your silly mood 🙂

Leah - Question for you: Is there some secret way to get Instagram photos to your blog? Right now I’m just manually saving them from Facebook or wherever I’m posting and then inserting to my blog. There must be a better way to do this!

april - LOVE LOVE LOVE the hunter boots and happy flowers…..I hope you have an amazing weekend girl! xoxo

Terrie - That has to be the happiest backseat ever!!
Have a wonderful time at Craft Weekend!
🙂

Gretchen - Love Home, the words just speak to me. It sounds crazy, but some songs do that. It also makes me think of my late husband, and the home we made together, and the one he is making for the day I get to see him again. I just love it. It is on repeat all the time. Have a great craft weekend!

IMG_20120926_095129
driving out to my friend kerry's for the morning.
feeling sassy with my favorite big mug from World Market.

IMG_20120926_162143
and this is what my truck looked like when i got back from kerry's….
dirt roads after rain is messy.

IMG_20120927_073246
my four youngest kids ride the same bus to school everyday and it makes me happy.
i like to listen to them talk to each other (when they are being nice) in the driveway so early in the morning.
i overheard annie say "tell me when the bus is coming…i'm just gonna dance"
and she did.
in the middle of the road.

IMG_20120927_082256
i showed up to run with my friend and this giant vulture was at her back door.
it would not leave….it was so bizarre!
it was there ALL day!!
she called animal control and they told her
"our large bird specialist is out for the day.  let us know if it's still there tomorrow"
so she had that looking into her house all day.

IMG_20120927_123057
i ate lunch with annie at school on thursday.
she loves it because i bring pizza hut.  :)

IMG_20120927_133300
double cheesecake making happened on thursday.
one for mr. duerksen and one for my friend's 40th birthday.

IMG_20120927_221945

IMG_20120928_125405

everyone had a different one that looked so perfect for them.

IMG_20120928_134152

because my running buddies and i committed to a half marathon in 2013!!
oy veh.
i am nerrrrvous.

IMG_20120928_160104
we went to spa #2 for massages.
(the 1st spa could only get us in for facials & the 2nd spa could only get us in for massage)

it was sooooo relaxing.
we all felt so good.
best way to spend a birthday!!

IMG_20120928_185345
out to dinner…looking refreshed and glowing!

IMG_20120928_191640
enjoyed drinks & fabulous grown up conversation over steak and glazed carrots at Red Rock.
i love those girls.
(so much that i would agree to a half marathon with them…crazy)
we stayed out past midnight…soaking up the whole evening….drawing out the birthday celebrationas long as possible.

IMG_20120929_090636
it was right back to reality early this morning.
soccer and soccer.

IMG_20120929_092216
but i stayed warm in my new scarf and with a cup of hot coffee.
and of course my petal pusher from the pleated poppy makes everything cute!

what did you do this past week?
did you make anything?
did you go anywhere?
did you spray paint for 3 hours?
did you go to a class reunion?

tell me.

Lasso the Moon - Big fan of Jen Hatmaker, and her blog. Met her at a conference this year, and she’s the real deal. Read “7” but haven’t read that one yet. It’s next. I’m glad you read it! I’ll have to pick it up soon.
Anna

carol.davis2@verizon.net - talby not tally…stupid auto correct!

carol.davis2@verizon.net - i pulled up my carpet up and faux painted the concrete slab in my craft room this week :)) I want to make that sunshine pic or maybe hang letters on a branch like harper…TOO STINKIN CUTE! LOVE! btw…you look like tally with those glasses. very cute 🙂

Amy - What did I do last week? I attended the birth of my adopted baby boy!! (Our first child!!) I’m just now home and getting caught up on what I missed in your blog! 🙂

Carol S. - Morning Meg, loving your blog right now. Loving all these links of inspiration. This week I did a couple MAJOR things, moved from Chicago into a new home in Knoxville, TN and (drumroll please) started a blog to keep my family and friends informed of our changes. So now I can imagine what you go through to manage this fab blog! Keep going, loving the sunshine pics, it’s the only way to go through life. Thank you God!

katey - I went to the world’s longest yard sale. Amazing. Not all yardsales are created equal. I found awesome vintage items. I ran out of money twice!! So I got lots of stuff to get creative with.

Jen - :O :O :O …scary how fast they grow!!!

Anita - Hi Meg, I sort of made something this week that I wanted to share with you….Imstragram pics on magnets!! Love love love them 🙂 I have a picture of them done on my instagram I’m anison on Instagram if you want to check them out.., but you check out the stickygram website it has all the details. I’m definitely ordering more this week! Fast turn around to, I got mine in 7 days UK all the way to Australia. Have a great great weekend!

tasha - you are freakin adorable with glasses!! seriously! cuter than lisa loeb with glasses!

Jeannette from Plant City - That mug from NYC would be the thing my husband would bring back for himself. He loves Starbucks!! I have cans of spray paint in the garage waiting to be used, haven’t had the time yet. This week has been all about Band Camp and so will next week. We are going away for the weekend to a nice hotel(my husband has to work and we get to tag along) that has a 1/2 acre pool with 12 waterfalls and slides as well as a 21 acre lake that they have water activities you can enjoy. My weekend is going to be spent soaking up some rays and enjoying my kids 🙂 The one and only bad thing is…..the hotel is right near Disney so I hope that it is not too crazy with the tourist, maybe they will be visiting Mickey or Harry Potter!!! By the way seeing Scott driving giving me anxiety because my 15 year old is right around the corner for his license and it scares the crap out of me!!!!
Have a great weekend!!!

Routhie - WHERE DID YOU GET THAT ORANGE DRESS?! Sorry for the capslock, but that dress is divine and I must know. Kind of afraid you’re going to say it’s old…. Your glasses look cool. I had to get some myself and find them to be invaluable now. They can hide sleepy eyes (to an extent) and can be a fun fashion accessory after a few years of collecting frames. 🙂

Carrie - I have paint in my basement, I was going to drag the paint brush out and paint some shelves, then wash the brushes, etc. You have inspired me, I am going to buy me some spray paint!! My girls can play in the back yard while I have some spray paint fun!

julie - Interrupted. In the amazon cart. Oh oh. Next week I am going to be all messy.

Heather - Gasp! You did NOT spray paint those black floral tole trays, did you? Did you??? Please, please tell me you didn’t! Or tell me they were in horrible condition. And if you did spray paint them, don’t go to Etsy and see how much they sell for now. If you spray painted them already, you don’t want to know.

mollie's mom - I spray paint every day… well,maybe only 6 days a week 🙂 and that caviar is a garnish.

lauren - my son was in new york the same weekend you were and he bought me the SAME mug!
and that caviar is a garnish.

jeri - I wish I had made something this week. I mostly drove my girls back and forth to ice skating practice (3 days), went to Target (and will go again today), registered the girls for school…18 days and counting, washed all clothes to pack for vacation, made a packing list for vacation, started packing, ate yogurt at Smart Cow, and slept til 9 a.m.

Lisa - I’ve helped at VBS this week – made dinner each day for the VBS workers (we hold our VBS in the evenings). Cut off 10″ of hair to send to Locks of Love (still have more than 10″ left, haha). Started putting together a scrapbook/photo album of our daughter’s wedding. Watching a lot of Olympics. Last night, I started reading a book about the origin of hymns. This morning I turned 47. Hmmm. Really?

Lindsey - I like your glasses! The only thing I have made so far was a cute embellished skirt for my daughter. It was rainbow! I am hoping that I can make some more fun stuff today since we are home sick. I would LOVE to spray paint for 3 hours. Hmmm. What could I paint?

amber - I did make a garland:)! For my baby boy’s room. And, I love it. Love that boy too. Squishy, drooly, & oh my sweet. Anyway…I need that spray paint handle. Awe-some. Thanks for sharing your week. Your family is so cute & so are your new glasses:).

Lori Austin - Orange dress – love!!
Welcome to the glasses club – blech!
You’ve Got Mail – the best!

Jill - Love your movie choices!!! My favs as well. Hmmm…. I didn’t spray paint for hours, but I DID paint for hours…. painted my 1980s china buffet… updated the hardware… LOVE it!!! Used Annie Sloan paints and wax… AMAZING!!! Have you tried it?

Sara - I can’t focus on anything except-
You do your laundry at a laundromat now? For a family of 7…seriously?!?!?!
I am so sorry.

tess - I have totally seen “You’ve Got Mail” at least 100 times – I just love it!

Han - “What are you doing?? That caviar is a garnish!!” Yes I love You’ve Got Mail.
I have three favourite bits, first when they kinda cross paths on their way to work but just miss each other each time, then when they are in the market talking about NY152 and then at the end “Don’t cry Shopgirl, Don’t cry” awwwwww!!!

amy - I just finished “Interrupted”. Great book….NEW insight into truly living the life of a witness. Very challenging for my heart to not just talk the talk, but walk the walk — in a traditionally unconvential way. Loved it. 🙂

Amanda - That rustoleum primer is like THE BEST THING EVER.

April R - you’re so sweet to “ask” us all what we did/made/saw this week 🙂 and look at the variety of responses…
my favorite things I did this week: sat on the porch and listened to a thunderstorm (all by myself), played wits and wagers and bananagrams with family (that was FUN!), got to see my sis-in-law for a bit (surprise!), and did epic amounts of laundry (yeah for a good washer and dryer!)
what a blessing this blog is 🙂 thanks very much!

Risa - We had our 10 year reunion the week before! Where was the 20 year hosted? Ours was a super low-key backyard barbecue and everyone loved it. Hillsboro people are good people! 🙂

Juliann Brenner - Hi Megan – the quilt looks a little like a pennant quilt (I am a terrible speller these days….). Anywho, I wonder if the H.Depot guys thought you might be a graffiti mama-haha (again with the spelling). It was nice to see pics and read of your adventures with jenny. Al and I got away for my 40th to a cute little town in Southern Indiana without kiddos – that’s my big news for last week….

jenrobburton - I cleaned out my son’s closet, which has heaps and heaps of bagged baby clothes … waiting on the next baby … which is waiting on my husband to decide it’s OK to have the next baby.
Pulled out toys from the back that I got at his baby shower! Now he can actually play with them! And his room is much neater now.

tiffany gardner - My two big kids went back to school today. Always makes me a little sad. It made baby brother very sad. Thanks for cheering me up with your blog… my fav!

renee - i prepped for my first day of school (teacher) and started today! no kiddos yet… just training 🙂 oh and i schedule our 20-week ultrasound appointment!! yay.

Megan H. - Where did you get that attachment for your can of spray paint!? I have never seen one of those!
And I planned/attended my grandmother’s funeral. Maybe next week will be better? I’m hoping my instagram pics are least happier next week 🙁

Joy - I went through our entire book collection to weed them out. I gave away one.
That’s progress, right?

Krista - You’re looking tiny in that dress, whatever you’re doing, keep going!!
Love your glasses, sorry they somehow show up with age….
“What are you doing, what are you doing? that caviar is a GARNISH!!”

Flower Patch Farmgirl - Those cords are calling my name AND so is Interrupted. Now, if that’s not a conundrum. I can’t wait to see what you think of the book.
What did I do? Besides clean barf off bedding and carpet? Uh, I painted a table bright green! And ordered a new shower curtain. And packed a few boxes. But only a few.

Tanya - I finished the book The Happiness Project this week and just finished reading Seven in a day and a half and I’m about to move onto Interrupted…
Love the orangey dress…nice with a tan yes?

Jenny B - So fun! I just got that exact Target pillow! So cute. I think the new glasses make you look younger and skinnier! Seriously! 🙂

tara pollard pakosta - hmm where did we go? the pool and the beach and shopping in greenbay WI.
celebrated ava’s 11th birthday!
love the freckles pic of annie!
tara

Sonja - That caviar is a GARNISH! I <3 that movie.

Janelle - scott is starting to drive :0

Tiffany - My dining room table was too clean, BORING, so I started projects this weekend too. Yay for getting it *ish done and having a little crafty fun. Love those freckles, oh they make me smile. And THAT CAVIAR IS A GARNISH…you should maybe add ‘As Good As it Gets’ to your 100 Watch List, it’s a new fav for me. Happy August.

Logan - I have that same dress, I think. Love it!

Mindy Harris - the picture of you in glasses is gorgeous! so so so so pretty. you rock those glasses big time.
i love the trays you are spraying, both with and without spray. i think it would be hard for me to spray them. i am curious to see what you are making with them.
shawn and i went to manhattan (kstate-our alma mater) to dink around for our anniversary.
but then we had a funeral to go to in ellinwood. his gpa chet, who was 95, went to heaven.

Heather - I’d love to go to Home Depot and buy 25 cans of spray paint-each one a different color, but…my husband would think I was off my rocker. Love the pictures!

Ann - I spraypainted this week too…15 cans used to make my girls’ bunkbeds white. Pretty sure I might have some neurological damage from all those fumes, but they look pretty awesome! Who cares if I can’t walk a straight line anymore?

elisa - Whoa I bought that canvas from the artist at the Country Living art show last year. Probably a lot cheaper at Hobby Lobby!!

happygirl - This was a good week in pictures. Love the glasses and the spray paint shooter holder thingy. And nothing is cuter than a sprinkling of freckles on a cute little nose. 🙂

Kristin - FYI, I love your blog! 🙂 I have one of those spray paint squeeze things. It’s wonderful! I also Can not believe that quilt for that price, awesome! 🙂

Sara Torbett - I loved this post. 🙂 Cute glasses too! I helped host a Craft Day at my house, and we made yarn pom-poms and yarn crafts galore. Fun :). Today-getting the neighbor’s help to chase our bull out of the yard. LOL.

Kristin S - So much goodness in one post.
Still loving that orange dress on you skinny mini!

angela - well yes, i did paint…thank you for asking. 🙂 A monogram for my front door. I also washed a couch cushion that one of my perfect grands poured milk on. Have you ever smelled a sour couch cushion? Don’t.

seriously sassy mama - Swimming, painting a dresser mint green, and two lamps yellow!

sarah - I want turquoise corduroys! I like saying those words together too.
I painted 2 bathrooms, ran around getting ready for school, and putzed around enjoying the last days of summer.

jen - what did i do this week? {today!}…i turned 35. yeah and yuck at the same time. hope you have a great rest of the week!!

melodee - oh a new driver how fun! we are on our 3rd teen driving and it’s scary but so cool for them! hope to see your finished garland!

Lori H - That orange dress is so cute! And I like your glasses too. No big happenings this week at our house. I think summer used to be alot more fun.

erin j - I LOVE freckles on little girls!! I love them on big girls too.

so that was a not even a week of my instagrams!
i am totally addicted.

i love getting to see what my friends are up to all day all over the place.
i love instagram.
what's not to love?!!

are you on?
do you do the daily challenge?
i can't commit to that.

do you have a favorite app to use along side instagram?
share it please.

:)

Kara D - just getting caught up on my favorite blogs and was so tickled at your kronk hashtag! was one of my favorite movies in high school, my best friend and i could recite practically the whole thing and yeah… we were REALLY cool 😉

Theamicks77 - I’m MommyAngela3 on Instagram (and Twitter). Have only had my iPhone for two months & am SO addicted! I love the photoaday challenge!
I just got diptic ($0.99) app today to be able to put two or more photos side-by-side, and also phonto (free) to add text.

Theamicks77 - Ooh, thanks! Cool tip on holding down someone’s name. I wish more people realized you have to type people’s name.
I have a question you may know the answer to, since you’re savvy with IG and the 4S.
I have my 4S set up to alert me with a sound when I get IG notifications, but the sound never plays. It works with texts and other things, but not IG. Any clue?

natalie@thesweetslife - i second the comment re: diptic–it’s great for photo collages!
i’m thesweetslife if you want to follow 🙂

Mandy - Loving all the app suggestions & new instagram friends!! I do the photo-a-day challenges, even though I may not get to every day’s challenge. I look at the challenge in the morning and think of it like a scavenger hunt for the day 🙂 I’m mandyblackburn. See you on there!

Patti H. - Instaframe is a fun app.

sara @ it's good to be queen - i’m addicted as well. it’s my fave. i love phonto and pic frame apps to go with it. 🙂

Jenny - what is the name of your favorite fabric store and where is it?

Ashley - I love, love instagram!! I’ve followed you, too. I’m @lrmama. The thing is a serious addiction, I tell you. I love the filters. Snapseed is pretty good, and I even found a version on the pc. I’ll have to look that one up for you sometime.

Jessica - I have been dreading the smart phone upgrade (which is happening soon as my “antique” flip phone is dying) and can honestly say that instagram is the only thing I am looking forward to using!

katey - Okay now I have a post it note full of all these apps to check out to embellish my instagram addition!! Love it! My user name is SO original! kateydeasy

Priscilla - I love following your pictures on instagram…I use diptic, its a collage, editing app and it will download right into instagram, it might cost .99 cents but totally worth it!

Kimber-Leigh - i love instagram too 🙂 my only “trick” is that if i don’t want a photo to go to my instagram feed (for whatever reason), you can set your phone to airplane mode and use instagram…it will say that it has “failed” but a copy is put in your photo album but not published to your feed once you delete it in the app! loved when i discovered this!
and i loved the peek at the land of nod…i’ve always wanted to see one of their retail stores!

sandy toe - I love it just as much!
sandy toe

Sandy - I have a single digit following on instagram. Come follow me @oSRMo Meg, id love to have you. I too love instagram because it’s so simple to use. I’ve found that following along with others sharing their “happy” inspires me to be “happy”.

Kate - I just found Phonto. It looks super fun and I’m looking forward to learning it!

Erin - I’m new to Instagram and love it! Love following you. KSgirl72 my new Instagram name. 🙂

Ashlyn@Pinecone - My car looks the same and I always need a caffeine fix :)!!

Mary - I LOVE instagram. I use “Collage” A LOT because I take a lot of photos and I like to collage them and post as one. 🙂

Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode - So sad to be so behind in the times…no Instagraming here. I don’t own a cool phone 😉 Probably better for me though because I know I would be addicted to that too and then my family really wouldn’t get my attention…HA! Love seeing your pics though. So glad you were able to spend time with family and remembering your special aunt. Hugs, Valerie

ko. s - I love seeing you on Instagram! My husband will ask who a picture is from and I casually respond, “oh, Meg.” He rolls his eyes and kindly reminds me that we really aren’t friends. Hurumpf! 🙂 Nevertheless is fun to see all the beauty and joy in your life of course in the most non stalkerish way possible!
As for other apps. I love using PicFrame with it. Multiple photos in one post can tell a great story.

jessica kiehn - I can’t do Instagram because it’s just ANOTHER social media life sucker:) Haha, but really. I don’t commit or sign up for anything that I would check several times a day because I don’t want to raise my little ones seeing me check my stupid smart phone all day to see what everyone else is up to. My life is cool enough without it:)

betsy - I’ve been doing my daily photo blog for 4 years, and this year, almost all of my pictures that I’ve posted have been Instagram pics. I’m on & love it … @betsymck. I have 28 camera apps (I went a little crazy when I got my 4S), but consistently use Instagram, Diptic (to make a collage), and Percolator (which uses your pictures and turns them into pieces of art). I also have LEGO Photo, which I think kids would enjoy. It takes your pictures & turns them into a new photo made out of virtual Lego blocks – cool!
I don’t do the daily photo challenges on IG, but I do think an important part of being on is following other people and commenting on their stuff. I always like when I have comments, so I make an effort to return the favor. You can also use common hashtags like #fromwhereistand, #clouds, #Kansas, and #(yourhometown) to find others near you.
Don’t forget to those of you on IG … when you want to reply to someone’s comment, you need to type their name so they get a notification that you replied to them. You can hold down someone’s name & I will automatically “mention” their name in your comment. I didn’t learn this trick until I’d been on IG for a few months!

Brooke - I just became an instagrammer 😉 I lovvveee it!

allison - I’m on instagram … @amazingmommy

Dana - I am on and I follow you. 🙂 I love the fabric! I haven’t gotten into too many apps that got with Instagram – I use PicFrame sometimes!

Sarah - I love Phonto for adding text and Camera+ for editing! 🙂

Colleen - I’m a huge fan of instagram!!!! so much fun. I like Picframe as you can easily insert photos into a collage and then post a few in one picture frame. I also like label maker.

Hanah - Ok so I read your blog and love color just as much as you. It’s a crazy addiction! And I’m making rainbow quilts for my girls. And everytime I see them I think … Man I really want to show these to meg. Ha ha! You’d love them. I love reading the happy on your blog. Thanks for sharing!

Grace - Nice!!!
I just found this web page with plenty of DIY projects. http://www.boredpanda.com/creative-diy-project-ideas/
I thought of you and I am sure that you will re-use some ideas with your girls! Thank you for your blog… love reading you!

Amber - I love postagram (postcards with your instagram pics-so fun) & postal pix (they print them & mail them to you).
Hope your weekend is going great & thanks for sharing your beautiful aunt’s story with us this week…she seemed like a fun lady!

Jill - I would LOVE to Instagram but I do not have internet on my cell phone and I “only” have a Kindle Fire so no pics come from there. *sigh*
Oh well, at least I get to enjoy all my friends pics on it! =)

Heidi - Fun!
I counted yesterday and I think I have 18 camera apps. It’s embarrassing! My favorites are Camera+ for their camera and quick edit; the camera lets you choose the focus spot and choose the exposure spot separately so it makes tricky lighting situations easier.
For editing I love love love the rainbow filters in Snapster. They’re super fun! I also like PicFX and Pixlromatic for editing. Lenslight is fun for fancy lighting, but you can add basic bokehs in Picfx.

doveboat - my phone crashes almost every time i try to use Instagram, 🙁 but I am still trying to figure out how to use it…I use my iphone to take pics almost every day now, so would love to know about the daily challenge and the couple of apps listed by the others here sounds great – Snapspeed, Phonto, Diptic, Picgrame, Labelmaker, lemeleme, Pixlromatic, PicFix, Pic Jointer, Camera +, Line Camera – you all are soooo creative!

Heather - Love the handwritten “eleven” address label.

Lisa B - What is the daily challenge? Is it on the iPhone app?
Thanks for sharing your life with us!!

Sarah - That fabric store looks like heaven.
I love that quilt too. So happy.
I love instagram, but i too can not commit to the daily challenge thing.

Cindy - Well, aren’t you and your mama beautiful!and twins! 🙂

Kimberly - Line Camera is a good one for adding text & fun frames.

Stephany - I am addicted to Instagram, too.
LOVE. IT.
You can find me @homeisablog.
I don’t use any other apps with it…just straight up Instagram.

Angie - Oh wow, you have been one busy lady! I LOVE looking at all the Instagram pics but I can’t figure out how to use the darn thing LOL

LibraryGirl62 - My front seat is the same way…God Forbid someone wants to sit there 🙂

Ann Williams - no instagram here, but love your coffee addiction! me too!!

lucky penny love - Love instagram!! Although I only do photo editing on it. I’m afraid of how much time I would spend on it if I started to follow others! How does one juggle blogging, Pinterest, and instagram? I love Pic Jointer for collages and just starting using Camera + for added variety in photo editing. And I do a Friday Wrap post on my blog weekly and link up with InstaFriday @ liferearranged.com. It’s fun to see what everyone else has been up to and to have a place to document the week’s activities (little things that might not get shared otherwise)!

Lane - I LOVE instagram as well! I just started using it and I can’t stop!

Starla Witzki - I’m @starlawitzki…love Instagram!

Sheryl - I love Annie’s Hocket…Camp Invention I take it? 🙂 I work CI every year at our school…ours was 2 weeks ago. My 2 daughters (8 and 10 ) LOVE it!!!

Lindi - I’m @auntdidi and I’m totally addicted!! So much better than Facebook! Here’s the apps I love!! PicFx and Snapseed are great editors; Phonto is perfect for adding text; maskingtape and labelbox are like virtual washi tape!! Love!! Diptic is fantastic for making collages as is pocframe! The daily challenges are fantastic…takes a little remembering that first week, but after that it’s a total habit!! So glad you’ve joined!! Love seeing more of your awesome pics!! :). Happy Sunday!!

Deborah Lee - I love Instagram!! These days I try to limit my time on there but sometimes there’s photo that just has to be taken … You know how it is 😉
My favourite app is Snapseed, and Pixlromatic is rapidly becoming a contender too 🙂

Mandie Starkey - picfx <3

Dana - Wood camera app for editing- it’s great!

Jachel - I’m @jachel, and addicted as well. Trying a daily challenge, but I’m a few days behind. Love peeking into people’s daily life.

Denise - I love that you called Starbucks “Starbies”! We call it Bucky’s. 🙂

Keri - Heyyy! My nickname is Kronk! It was like you did a special shout out just for me even though that isn’t me! 🙂

lauren - lol… where to start…. Snapseed is great. Love the “drama” effect. Phonto is great for adding text. You can even download fonts from your computer to your phone. Diptic and picframe are great for collages. Labelmaker is fun. lots of cute tape looking labels. lemeleme is another one i like too 🙂

Talysa - Frametastic. 🙂

awesome.

then we had a lengthy discussion on modern style verses traditional.
i loved it!
we compared kitchens in magazines and i explained what makes it modern and why.
they were honestly interested.

come on over.

elizabeth beesley - I am so curious about the bible devotional too! I sooo need this!
Thanks!!!!!!!

Katie Jones - I am curious on your bible too! Love the devotion part! Which one is it????

Sharla - Love the floors and all of these pics. I got kisses from Katie for my bday and can’t wait to start it!

Jacci - I don’t wear shorts either. And I don’t really know why. I think I just dont like the way they look on my body. I think skirts/dresses/cropped pants are better on me. I haven’t owned a pair of shorts in, seriously, like 4 years.
I’m enjoying your instagram feed 🙂 Fun to have you on there!

Suzanne - yay!! welcome to ig and instafriday!

Cindy - I’d love to know what Bible you are reading from too! Completely inspired by this page from it!

Carrie - 5th grade is middle school? We have 6 th to 8 th as middle here and many schools are k to 6 th as elementary school. Goodness, 5 th raders are still so little!! I teach grades 4 to 6 Autistic aupport and they seem so young to me.

Lisa - FUN Friday. Oh my, I love the floor. LOVE it. We’re tearing up carpet in our bedroom. If the floors are in bad shape, I think I know what to do 🙂 Your post on Kisses from Katie/Seven a couple weeks ago finally tipped the scale for me and I started reading 7. I’m not a reader either and I can’t put it down. It’s messing me up in a very good way. Read it next!

Kari - how funny! i don’t wear shorts either… i told my neighbor it “must be a sign of the apocalypse” when i had them on the other day 🙂

Jenna@CallHerHappy - Ok I need some Whatever advice. How did you get your husband to agree to let you paint the floors?? They are so cute, but my hubs is terrified of painting anything that used to be a tree 🙂

Maria - I will be heading to target later this week…hoping all the cute summer table stuff is out…
I love those floors!
Our baseball season will be over next week sometime…last game today and playoffs/nail biting time next week.
Have a great weekend!

Kelly - We have just started talking about painting our floors. Yours looks awesome but I really don’t think I can get my husband to go for yellow stripes 🙂 It looks so great though!
I’m not a shorts girls either. It gets blasted hot here in Idaho though so I can’t do capris or pants all through July. Last year I declared summer the summer of skirts and grew quite a collection. I’m excited to dig into them again…as soon as it stops raining!

katie - love the floor!!! also, about the book, when i read it i cried EVERY SINGLE PAGE. my husband kept looking at me saying “what is so sad?” and i’d say “it’s not sad AT ALL. it’s super duper amazing and God is sooo good!”

Maria Bryan - THHHHHAAAATTTTT FLLLLOOORRRRRR!!!!! Amazing Job! How do you do the Insta Friday?

Jennifer - Question? Is that a study Bible? Looks like maybe a “daily reading” one. Mind sharing the cover? Looking for a new copy and I’m loving the layout of that one. Thanks!

Pink and Green Mama MaryLea - I bought two ADORABLE table cloths at Target this past week too – turquooise blue with a fun little darker turquiose mosaic looking pattern and a sea glass green and blue striped number — curious if we got the same one! : )
Love the new yellow striped floors.
Have been trying and failing at instagram — will persevere and try to figure it out!
Happy end of the school year.
love,
ML

Heather Crawford - I don’t wear shorts either, but I am so tired of capris…and it is hot as heck here in Georgia..and we’ve got baseball tournys today..three games in the middle of the afternoon..thinking of sucking it up and wearing some…ugggh

melissa - love the floor and saw your little “plug” for the antiques shop in the newest country living! i am coming to kansas.

ko. s - Loving that you are Instagram! It lets me get my “whatever” fix whenever 😉 Have a great weekend!

happygirl - I want to learn how to use Instagram. This was great. 🙂

Lisa - You gotta explain how 5th grade is middle school! I’ve never heard of that. I always thought that started in 6th grade! I’m freaking out cause my oldest is starting MS. I think even 6th grade is too young! 🙂

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - Yay! Welcome to Insta-Friday!

Sara @ Happy Brown House - Oh, Kisses From Katie was so good. And that floor…swoon!

Bailey Jean - Kisses From Katie is an incredible book! It was so encouraging, inspiring, and stirred my heart in so many places. I’m sure it will do the same for you 🙂 And I’m loving the floor! Beautiful!
