funny.

i was shopping with friends and i said i wanted to get some new tennis shoes.

we went in the nike store and everyone went their own way.

i looked at shoes about 3 minutes.

i picked a pair…paid for them and we left.

later that night i look down at one of my friend's shoes and said

"oh my gosh….those are the shoes i bought today!"

i thought it was so funny.

oh all the shoes in the whole store

or any store….

i picked the exact ones as her without even knowing….or her noticing.

i guess we really do like the same things.

Ashley - My best friend and I do that all the time. Years ago, we were living several states apart and I called her to tell her that I had gotten a new purse and she laughed and said that she had gotten one too. When we got together several months later we discovered that we had bought the same purse AND the same wallet! We laughed and laughed!

Have you ever checked out the Pioneer Woman blog? Every one of her recipes that I have tried have been great and my sorta picky kids liked them. She also has a tab that links to Tastykitchen.com where you can find all kinds of ideas.
My go-to when I am out of ideas is Make your own burritos. Plop all the toppings on the table and have everyone help themselves.

Penny - I think we will be having grilled brats and corn on the cob and some fresh peaches for dessert.

Tammi - I have an easy Ck pot pie recipe that I have altered a tad from Paula Deen.
2 cups cooked ck breast-chopped
1/2 c sliced carrots (use the canned or frozen)
1/2 c frozen green peas
1 can crm of ck soup
1 c chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste
1 c milk
1/2 stick melted butter
Preheat oven to 350. In a greased 2 qt casserole layer the chicken, carrots and peas.
Mix the soup, broth and salt and pepper-pour this over the layers.
Stir together bisquick and milk-pour over casserole. Drizzle butter over top. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 35-45 min.
**NOTE: I made it the other day and didnt have peas, so I used canned kernal corn, and I also forgot the broth and it was really good!! LOL
Enjoy (I am sure you will have to double the recipe for all your kiddos!!)

messy FUN

my kids were saying they were bored.

i told them to get their swimsuits on and finish their lunch.

“why?!” “what are we doing?!” ‘”where are we going?!” “it’s too cold to swim!”

i answered “just do it”

i sprayed it all over our patio table and called them outside.

they were in disbelief.

that they could play IN it…and get it on them.

i said “yes. use it all. go crazy”

they did.

then a fight broke out…like we knew it would.

i highly recommend this activity to you.

i ended up giving them all 9 cans i’d bought.

i said many many times “don’t get it in your eyes!”

i thought my kids would like it but they LOVED it.

they had

the.

BEST.

time.

i hosed them down when they were finished.

turned on the sprinklers to clean the yard.

sprayed down the patio.

done.

$11 well spent.
