trail mix, a playlist & crazy strong abs

three quick things today.

1. this is my trail mix i made up for when i want a little sweet and still be getting the good stuff.
i buy the Cranberry Delight trail mix at Dillons (Kroger) which is by the chips at our store.
and a bag of dark chocolate covered raisins.
i dump those two into a bowl or a ziploc and then i add some golden raisins too… not a lot.
sometimes i add unsweetened coconute flakes.
and as i eat it and the bowl emptys out… i add in more whole almonds.

occasionally if the chocolate raisins are low i will throw in some dark chocolate chips if i have them.

it’s super yummy… great little snack.
of course you shouldn’t eat much at a time… moderation and all that, you know.

 

i have been doing Les Mills Pump for 6 weeks now.

LOVE IT!!!
but with all dvds i get tired of the talking… how could one not get tired of the same words over and over??
so i turn on my music loud and mute them.

i am not tech savvy enough to give you a playlist that actually plays…. i wish i was.
if someone knows how to do that… feel free to tell me how.

 

and then yesterday i came across this video of a core workout routine.
holy cows.
kind of looks like fun… wish i was 16 again so i could do this EASILY!
i would’ve loved it.
but even though i am 39… i am going to try it.
because why not?!
remember my word was ACTION.
this video is a lot of that.

 

 

 

Kathy - I LOVE your playlist!!!! Fun songs! I mix a little of the new songs just like these with some fun dance songs from the 90’s – just love to have upbeat fun songs playing, helps the workout be more fun!!

Alicia - There has never been a time in my life where that workout would have been EASY!! But it does make me want to try it!!

Iris Brown - OMG! Just watched that ab video. Is my eyes suppose to water while watching? I’m out of breathe from sitting. I will try it too and hope to just make it to the chorus. Thanks for the inspiration. Bless the Lord O my Soul . . .

Alice H - That ab workout makes it seem like the song Uptown Funk is REALLY REALLY long. LOL! And that trail mix looks delicious!

Carrie - My daughter’s gymnastics team does that workout! That must be where they got it! They just updated it to that. They used to do a really similar one to the song Power. It’s hard, and my daughter is really tired when it’s done, but I think it makes their conditioning a little more fun.

Beejay - So cool you have Les Mills dvds to follow. I live in New Zealand where Les Mills gyms started and I go to one…..just home from a Body Balance class tonight. They’re the best! 🙂

Becky - That video makes me feel like I could do anything! I mean, I couldn’t actually do THAT, but it makes me feel like it. What inspiration!

Stephanie Wilson - LOVE your playlist! I started doing Blogilates on Youtube at the beginning of the year and it is kicking.my.butt. At 39 (40 next month) I am realizing I have to take things a little slower than I used to. But I love when it hurts the next day because I pushed myself. I need to make myself some trail mix now….

Michelle Whitlow - That made my stomach hurt just watching that video!! haha I don’t think I could’ve done that even back when I was 16 but good for them!!! Holy super abs Batman!!

Barbara (WA) - You should try all this at 60+, haha! And moderation with trail mix is even harder!

Melissa - why don’t they go those workout videos with two options: one for just starting out with pauses and talking and one that just works straight through with no pauses or talking. I would love to buy a workout video like that.

jamie - doesn’t that core video inspire you? they do it so flawlessly! i told one of my instructors at the rec center that she should do that routine with her summer classes! yikes!
