IMG_2781

this month for craft weekend we had all fresh flowers right out of the garden!
i had way too much fun cutting flowers for over an hour.

IMG_5296

some of my favorite people ever were helpers this month!
Pam (my friend who moved to africa and is back for a visit) came to be a helper and she made us THE CHEESECAKE that she created the recipe for!
what a dreamy treat!!
eating pam's cheesecake prepared BY PAM!!!

IMG_1100

Ashley was a helper this month…we have missed her!!
she is like five helpers in one.
so speedy and on top of anything that needs to be done.

IMG_1118

and Jess stopped by for friday lunch and helped us a little more.

DSC_1406

Megan drove with a guest and was our helper from friday- sunday.
she was a cooking machine beside kimberlee.

IMG_1134

and we were ready just in time with minutes to spare…when are we going to be SUPER ready with no rushing around?
someday i hope.

we sent out all the swag in the cubbies, at their chair and also on their beds.

IMG_2798

IMG_2809
kimberlee made an amazing "kansas" meal for our first night.
it was SOOOOO delicious.
homecooking.

IMG_2815
(we even pulled out my grandma's silver platter… she would have liked that)

IMG_2822

DSC_1428

margaritas go with any meal.
it's a fact.

IMG_2824

every month its so enjoyable to see the fabrics they put together for their aprons.
everyone's personality comes out in their choices.

IMG_1145

IMG_1217

DSC_1415
9:30 pm rolls around and the cheesecake is passed out.

having someone bring you dessert WHILE you are crafting… and a cup of coffee… it's dreamy.

IMG_2893

IMG_2894

IMG_2901

IMG_2892

they rocked those aprons!

IMG_2902

DSC_1456
while we stay up late into the night crafting kimberlee gets her beauty sleep so she can get up early and make beautiful coffee cake like this.
what a gift she is to me.
i don't do mornings.

we took our lunch on the road this time so prep was happening before we left for our field trip.

IMG_2831

IMG_2837

IMG_2852
at Bearly Makin' It i saw that diet pepsi bottle and had an immediate flashback to being 7 years old and choosing my dad's birthday present.
i got him a pack of typing paper (he was a newspaper reporter before computers)
and a 6 pack of diet pepsi cans (his favorite drink).
that was the label at the time… i think…it's at least from sometime in my young childhood.
IMG_2841

we ate our lunch at the barn.
on a quilt.
surrounded by beautiful green fields and antiques in all directions.

those girls were serious shoppers.

IMG_1192
when we get back on saturdays we get right back into crafting.
Ashley led a craft that required using a saw!
we felt very empowered.  :)

they worked into the night again making so many beautiful projects.

IMG_2912

these were hanging fabric chalkboards.
aren't they adorable?!!
some used paints pens to make a permanent decorative frames too.

🙂

and i super like our helpers too!

thanks for another awesome Craft Weekend ladies!

IMG_3064

kimberlee makes everyday fun to come to work.

we have the WHOLE summer off.
we don't have craft weekend again until after school starts again.
that is kinda crazy.

i hope you have a creative day today.
i know that my mind is craving creativity deeply.
it's going to HAVE to happen or i may get too cranky for this little house full of kids.

if you would like to get on the wait list for future Craft Weekends…

first READ THIS: Craft weekend Q&A

and then get on the list!!

🙂

Jackie - I love your blog, love your shop, love these pics of the craft weekends. I drool and dream. Been on the wait list for over a year now. Hoping one day my name is picked. I know in God’s timing it will be right. I also would wish I could drive to bring larger things home from that amazing thrifting trip you take. But alas I know I could not. It’s just such a wonderful idea you have made into a reality! Thanks for giving us a visual walk through the weekend. It truly looks amazing.

tinaehb3 - I love looking at these photos! I soooo hope I get to see it in person someday 🙂

Lela - Oh my goodness, do you want to sell the Lord’s Prayer picture you bought? I love it!

Blanca - I’ve been following your blog since 2007. While I stopped blogging I still kept up with other blogs. Especially yours. Love this whole craft weekend idea. That would be a great weekend getaway!

Amy - I just gotta come back! I’m drooling over these pics!! I think I need another craft weekend in my future. Don’t you?!?!?

misty - oh i love every single picture! Everything looks amazing & fun.
I’ve added “Craft Weekend” to my 32 things to do before I’m 32 {wink wink} 🙂

Sara Torbett - Thanks for sharing all this happiness! It just looks like heaven on earth. 🙂 I love how you bless not only the women who attend but those of us at home peering into the computer screen. I sat down with my coffee tonight, ready to look through your pictures and be refreshed. Thank-you Meg, for giving this tired mama an uplifted spirit! 🙂

Mel - I am awaiting a baby but I promise (myself and you all) that I am signing up for one of these awesome weekends ASAP! Also, ya’ll need to franchise; I could see these all over the place.

Amy Woods - I have to tell you, my fam and I are heading to South Dakota (from N. Texas) for vacation the end of this month and I’ve already prepared them that we WILL be jagging over to Marion,KS so that I can shop at Bearly Makin’ It. You should totally get commission. 😉

Seriously Sassy Mama - I might drive to Kansas just to go to the barn.

Amanda - I want to come to Craft Weekend or the food and shopping! The crafting is just an added bonus! 🙂

Katey - Love what all they bought. They were great shoppers. I love your fresh flowers from your yard too. Awesome!! Enjoy your summer.

Michelle Whitlow - I cannot tell you how much I NEED a Craft Weekend!!! I sure hope my name gets picked soon 🙂 And if I *do* get picked I may need to drive all the way from Washington so I can have my truck to haul all my goodies back home from the antiques store! lol

Julie - I love it when you post all your craft weekend photos. The colour, the flowers, the food ( I feel hungry just looking at these photos, and I’ve just finished my breakfast), the smiling faces of all these women having a great time. Thanks you so much for sharing them with us.

amyjupin - i love you.
i love kimberlee.
i love ashley.
i love cee dub.
it’s pretty much the best ever.
like ever.
the end.

heidi - Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Nicole - I love opening my Reader & finding a Craft Weekend post! This weekend looks extra fun! Enjoy your summer off!

Heather Simnitt - Meg – you know, I’m only two hours away…and I’m not very crafty, but I can cook pretty well! I feed 18-20 men breakfast every Tuesday morning at 6:00 am…If anything ever happens to Kimberlee or she just needs a helper, I’m there for ya! 😉

our helpers this month were Lisa Leonard and Chrissie Rouse.
twin sisters… SUPER women…  i love to spend time with them and as usual it was WAY too short.

Lisa taught handstamping to all of our guests.
it’s addicting.
her shop sells stamp sets so you can make your own too… totally worth it!

we changed it up this month and ate at the barn this time.
we were hoping for warmer weather but kansas has been freaking out all spring.

i said “ummm…. i don’t buy solid fabric.”  ha ha ha

                    SUCH A FABULOUS GROUP!!!

kimberlee and i just love craft weekend.
love to meet so many A W E S O M E women.
love to take care of them… help them get a break and go home REFRESHED.
it’s such a joy.

i can’t believe we have hosted 15 already!!

if you would like to get on the wait list for future Craft Weekends…

first READ THIS: Craft weekend Q&A

and then get on the list!!

🙂

Jen - I’m in!!!

Kerry @ Made For Real - That is unbelievable …first I’ve seen of it!! What a fab weekend that would be : )

tiffany day - 🙂 I am on the list – and keeping my fingers crossed that all works out when I get the “call”
Would be wonderful to attend – and so good for my soul!
xoTiffany
P.S. My son just turned 15 too on May 11th!

katie - reunion is seattle? i don’t have a craft house…but i have a crazy house 🙂

Andrea - I agree with the patterned fabric. I had to make myself buy some plain linen. So glad I did! Just two weeks later found some gorgeous vintage fabric yo-yo’s and quilt pieces. Sewed them on to the linen to make some handbags. Of course, just the flaps are made of the linen with the vintage embellishments, the rest of the bags are patterned fabric.

kim - Oh, Meg, I LOVE your job too! How fun!!
I’m on the list, and still hoping it works out for me to come sometime soon!
I love what you do–keep it up–you’re so inspiring. (=
Kim

misty - I want to come to a CW so so bad! The craft house looks amazing! LOVE LOVE that striped floor.
I am commenting to tell you, next time you’re in Tulsa, Ok- if you go to 61st street & highway 169, there is a QuickTrip gas station. {coming from 169} you turn right onto the road with the stoplight right before the QT. Follow that little road around about a 1/2 block & on your left there is a building that says HEART in bright red neons. {it’s a little church} By their front door, they have a MASSIVE GIANT DINO sized heart shaped rock & as soon as I saw it I thought omgosh Meg needs a pic with that rock! It’s pretty awesome & every time I see a heart shaped rock I think of your blog 🙂

Julie - Hello Meg. Huge follower of your blog. In regards to craft weekend, I was wondering if you kept track of how long people have been on the wait list and if so, if you could perhaps choose a craft weekend to pull names from the early people like me whose names have been gathering dust on the ol’ waiting list. Just a thought! I’ll love you regardless!

denise@victory rd. - every bit of this is cheery.
i am thrilled that lisa is sharing her stamping secrets with us. i want to get a kit and get to work on my silverware, too!
and those “hello” wreaths! WANT.

Lisa Dick - So much yummy eye candy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos. I cant wait to get the chance to go to a Whatever Craft Weekend!!!

kerry - looks like you had an amazing time as usual, your house is SO well put together, bright, colourful and happy happy happy!! Are Lisa & Chrissie twins??!? They are SO alike! Kerry x

Sara Torbett - Happy, happy, happy post! So inspired by you and Kimberlee following hard after Jesus and listening to your hearts. Imagine the lives that are refreshed because of it! 🙂 As soon as my newest baby is weaned (6 more months!) I’m adding my name to the email list! Attending Craft Weekend is on my list for turning the big 3-0.

Tiffany - I’m always amazed that you find new ways to make the craft house even cuter! Those cupcakes… I would have been right there with you eating several! Blessing those women… You and Kimberlee have such a gift. XX

Linda - Looks as fabulous and happy as ever! Maybe someday….

Gale - So happy I was part of #13 – would love to come back even though my hubby said, “Can’t you just make bunting at home?” Duh! Of course – but it wouldn’t be as fun!!
Glad ya’ll had a great time!

Mary - hi meg! this looks so great!
i totally want to come one day! 🙂
i’ve been trying to find your email to inquire about donating spome ‘swag’ from our shoppe!
could you let me know if that is possible and how that all works?
thank you so much!
my daughter and i recently opened a shoppe and would love to share it with you and your ladies.
xoxo

Shelly Massey - OHHHHHH… the drooling that went on while I perused through this post. Just the kind of colorful happiness that I love. Rock on, Craft Weekenders!!! P.S. Congrats on your marathon run! Yay you!

Jenn - This just looks like heaven on earth to me. What fun! One day, I’ll get that email that says I’ve been picked. I just hope its sooner than later 🙂

Megan Jewett - Yeah!!! Thanks Meg.
I have been eagerly awaiting this post. It was so nice to look back at these and remember the weekend. I miss you, Kimberlee, Chrissie, Lisa and my fellow crafters so much. Can we have a “Craft Weekend 15” reunion? Just looking at this made me smile and will make my afternoon brighter. I’m slowly incorporating the crafty goodness into my home. I also can’t wait to share this with all my friends and family who asked, “what the heck is Craft Weekend?”

Allison - I wish I had a vintage store near me that sold globes. I was trying to explain to my girls that their grandparents were visiting Germany this week. It’s so hard to show them on flat paper how far away that is. I always look forward to your craft weekend posts, so much color, so much fun and so much craftiness!

Craft Weekend #14…lovely ladies!

our group came from california, texas, colorado, maine, virginia, nebraska, connecticut and arizona.
it’s super fun to get to meet and host so many wonderful, creative women every month.

we made ruffley aprons.    we got to know each other.    we ate kimberlee’s YUMMY food.

we drank margaritas.    we ate cheesecake.   we had coffee at night.   we stayed up LATE.

we went to a barn sale at a dairy farm.    we shopped for antiques and junk.

we had show-n-tell.    we made fun new craft projects.

we ate pasta with creamy sauce and dipped our garlic bread in the extra sauce (i did at least).

we crafted some more.   we ate bread pudding with carmel sauce. it was CRAZY GOOD.

we went to bed even later.   we ate incredible cinnamon rolls for breakfast with our antiques deliveryman.

we took pictures.   we gave hugs.    we dropped off 11 of our 14 guests at the airport.

it was an AWESOME weekend!

thanks for coming ladies!! kansas misses you already!

Kelly - Do you have a pattern for the aprons? I really want to make one but need a pattern and can’t find one!!

heather - Meg & Kimberlee-
I can’t thank you enough!! You girls are amazing and I will remember my Whatever Craft Weekend experience forever!! Thanks for all your hard work!
kisses
heather

Mhairi - Ahhh! I love that you are already on CW 14!! I took a peek back at your first CW post, and wow! What changes since then! 🙂 I’m also one of the masses who can’t wait to get that e-mail! 🙂

sara @ it's good to be queen - oh i love it, i love it.
so dreamy as usual.
i adore all of the vintage loot.
the fabrics look amazing.
so fun to see my dear friend mel’s JOYN business represented at the barn sale!!!
thanks for sharing. 🙂

jodie - All those great, bright, fun photos – looks like a blast!

Lavender Dreams - How wonderful! You sure had TONS of fun! We would ALL love to be there next time!

Valerie - Would so love to be able to come!!!!

Heidi Jo the Artist - Fun! Love all the photos. 🙂 And 14, holy cow!

Katey - Love all your pictures. Great layout of all of them!! Looks amazing every time!!!

Joy McLaughlin - Looks like another great craft weekend!

Michelle from Australia - I’m going to be positive and say WHEN I come to Craft Weekend, I’m going to go CRAZY buying quilts. Quilts are not as popular in Australia as they are in the USA but I’ve always LOVED them. So I may have to pay a lot in excess baggage getting my treasures home but wow, what amazing memories of a superb adventure they will be. Being positive works doesn’t it??

elz - Oh man, I can’t WAIT until it is my turn. When is it my turn?!

Tiffany - Whenever you post CW pics, I like to plop myself in those photos chatting around the kitchen and pretend I’m back there. 🙂 I find it so cool that you continue to find fun new crafts. I especially enjoy seeing how you use old materials or scraps. Teaching my students about Earth Day coming up, and you are a perfect example. 🙂

Liz - Thank you for the best weekend ever. Love the pix.

Jamie - Oh those quilts from the place that is basically Heaven on Earth look FABULOUS!! Maybe I could convince some future craft weekender to pick one up for me… 🙂

Julie - What a pity New Zealand and Australia are so far away – both my sister and I would love to attend one of these weekends. Never mind the photos are always worth the wait and are very inspiring to us. We love the use of colour that is always demonstrated.

Sheena - I just sent my email to get on the wait list and I am so excited at the future opportunity to be apart of this AMAZING experience!!

Ko. S - What a gorgeous fun sun filled weekend! I’ve been on the waiting list for a bit now, each craft weekend that passes just keeps looking better and better!

julia - holey smokes…i want one of those bikes

Jenn - Oh I want to come! I’m (not so) patiently waiting for that email. I’ve already decided I’m driving.

Craft Weekend #14

this was a pretty awesome group of women.
and they are late nighters!

🙂

my kids just got on the bus and i am headed back to bed to sleep the rest of the day.
i will tell you all about our weekend soon.
but right now i can barely keep my eyes open.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

i wanted to share with you a beautiful piece of art that Lori Danelle made for me.

IMG_9397-1

it is cut paper!

every detail is so delicate and perfect.
i love seeing how each line is connected… SO creative.

she hand cuts all of this!!

IMG_9399-3

IMG_9400-4

she made this for me based on this post i wrote back in september.
i had had a very bad day related to parenting and this verse was the hope i was clinging to.

isn't Lori's work absolutely stunning?
can you even imagine how long this would take her?!
it is AMAZING.

IMG_9398-2

Love never fails.

Go see Lori's great talent at her shop and read her blog.

i really think that i need this print at my house.
and the craft house.
who doesn't need that cheerful reminder daily?

thank you Lori for blessing me with such an awesome reminder of the gift God gave me… LOVE.

Tiffany - What a talented lady! That sure is stunning! Excited to hear all about your weekend!

chandu - Meg ! Lady ! You definetely know your shoes..be it the pink sparkly converse or those silver flats you are wearing.Love your choice of footware and that brings me to my question…mind telling where you got those sandals, thats exactly what I am looking for.PLEASE !

ashley @ little miss momma - I love learning how small this world is when I find out I am connected to someone I have never met. Hopefully I will get to meet you one day when I’m out visiting Bens family. Are you still it the same ward?
xoxo, ashley

sarah katherine - on the listing in her blog it says they are all laser cut, not hand cut

Claire - That paper cut is amazing. I tried to hand cut some (much less intricate that those) before and they turned out so disappointing. That blue she uses is so happy!!

Lori Danelle - So glad you like it! It was my pleasure. 🙂
Looks like you had an amazing group at CW! So much fun!!!

Gina - Phenomenal paper cutting!! That is my favorite Bible verse and I have a different print of the verse that hangs in my bathroom. I read it often! But I think I need the papercut version. Thanks for sharing and have a good recovery from Craft Weekend 🙂

Katey Deasy - THAT is amazing. What a gift of love. WOW! So inspiring. Thanks for sharing and can’t wait to hear about the weekend. Hope the Kanas storms miss you guys.

Mique - Still feels like a dream. The pic turned out great! And I love that design from Lori Danielle.
So grateful that I was able to come this weekend. You and Kimberlee are the best hosts!! xo

SV - Wow! So pretty! There are so many talented people in the world. Looks like another great weekend! I don’t know LMM personally(we attended church with her husband before we were all married and know her in-laws) but, from the looks of her blog, she seems like such a nice and fun person…as I imagine you to be, too. 🙂

happygirl - That is gorgeous. You rest well.

colette - This group of gals got an extra bonus… Little Miss Momma in their group! That’s awesome!! Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Sarah{Handbags*N*Pigtails} - I actually saw an entire storefront display that was paper cut this past weekend! Hubby and the girls and I were walking through a town we hadn’t visited in awhile and I stopped and just stood there in awe staring at it. I love how art has so many different forms.
And I spy two familiar faces in the CW photo-Mique and Ashley. Can’t wait to hear about the newest weekend.

it was delicious!

           2013-02-15_23-51-57-1
after dinner we get right into crafting because really…. why wait?!
it is what we are all together for right?

IMG_1898-5
choosing the fabric is the hardest part of making the apron!

IMG_1904-6

debbie finished hers VERY quickly…a very experienced seamstress!
and she whipped up her pretty flower too.
she was FAST!
i LOVE her fabric choices!

kimberlee always makes BIG breakfasts that are beyond delicious.
i am all for chocolate in the morning!

after all 16 of us get ready for the day… that is a lot of women…
we head out for our field trip to our favorite store and the barn.

talby happened to be playing her final basketball game that day in Marion at the same time we were shoppping so i snuck out and cheered her on!  I was so happy to get a peek at my family in the middle of CW.
            2013-02-15_23-54-13-1
then i was picked up on the way to the barn.
i can't ever get over how much they have every single month.
i am a junking addict.

            2013-02-17_23-13-19-1
Oggie and Dennis run the store and barn and are fun to catch up with every month.

everyone finds treasures.

i found this.

it was a no-brainer.
when you find something that is this perfectly your style… you almost HAVE to say yes.
yellow? chippy paint? working doors, shelves and drawers? turquoise ON THE INSIDE?
there was no way i was saying no to this.
IMG_8365-2
i can't wait to fill her with craft supplies.
i think i will name her Sunny.

we got on some comfy clothes and got back into crafting.

IMG_1936-14
shannan led a canvas project… we made infinty scarves, wire words, t-shirt flowers and wood bunting.

thanks girls for coming all the way to kansas to get crafty.

thanks shannan and taryn for being rock star helpers!

craft weekend has been a complete blessing in every way.
what started as a "let's try it ONE time to see if we like it" has turned into this wonderful, JOYful job
that both kimberlee and i are loving every minute of.
what started as a weekend of making crafts has turned into helping women find their creativity again.
giving them an opportunity to BE CREATIVE… to rest…. to refresh their spirits.

i love craft weekend.

more information on HOW to get to Craft Weekend is all found HERE.

Bugs & Sunshine - WOW, I’ve never heard of anything like this but it’s definitely on my list of things to do!!! What a blessing for women to be able to come and get refreshed. Ya’ll are awesome for offering this! Blessings, Anna

Lori Austin - Fantastic pics from another super fun CW.
Tulips + jar + yellow trivet = LOVE! 🙂
I also love that Shannan was one of your helpers. I started
following her blog thru you some time ago and was pleased to find she
lives in my own state. How fun! Both of your blogs have been such a blessing to me.

Jes - Love these posts! In the picture of the swag there is a print in the back that looks charcoal grey, with a sort of linen looking texture and a bit faux chalkboard like. Would you please tell me where it is from? Thank you!

Michelle from Australia - The star quilt is to die for. I would fly to Kansas just to find one like that!!

Jacci in Ohio - Love it 🙂 The tulip photo actually made me gasp! lol. I love the flowers on your island every single time no matter what they are. And the jar… perfect.
Looks like another super fun weekend 🙂

Thanks,
Cindy B.

Stef - Alright Meg. My 6 1/2 year old daughter {Rachel} is my crafting queen around here. She wants to create and craft and decorate and re-shape everything she gets her eyes on. She even gifts me, her non-crafty Mother, tips on how I can make things and decorate things.
She just saw this blog post and the gasping and oo’ing and awwing and can be heard for miles and miles 🙂
I believe she uttered the words “I wish we lived by her so she could be like my Mom.”
Just thought you’d want to know, you have a little admirer.

craft weekend is my fave.

alrighty… i have made it home from Haiti.
it was a super quick trip to meet some of the stove vendors and see how it all is working IN the field.
my trip was lovely.
i will share my pictures and stories at the end of the week.

i stupidly left my phone in the car of one of the girls living in haiti so i am without a phone for awhile.
feels like i am missing a limb.
somehow though i think will survive…. ha!

and now…. Craft Weekend January 2013!

a new year begins for Craft Weekend.
it is pretty exciting to me.
we have some pretty big plans for the Craft House and Craft Weekend this year.

we brought in a new piece for supplies….it's from the barn.
it is so COOL!
it was from a post office but i am sure it is much happier living at the craft house now.
it was a pain to clean but i am loving it!
i  want to paint it…. although i never have time.

(Katie Daisy art is from Pottery Barn Teen)

she is so good with displays!

our guests arrived and the party was officialy under way!

after dinner we got busy on our aprons.
i am always so interested in watching how they choose.
some are done right away and some are still deciding an hour later.

that doesn't mean it was early, but it was earlier than the previous groups.
and i am fine with getting a little more sleep.

IMG_0681-5
on saturday we took a COLD field trip out to Marion to our favorite shop, Bearly Makin' It.
it was crazy cold.
craaaazy.

IMG_0673-4
tere had a jeanne oliver bag!
so cute.

i always like to see what people gravitate to at the store… the quilts? the books? glassware?
IMG_0670-3
after a sonic break we made it home to get crafty again.
IMG_0682-6
these girls were fast workers!
most of our projects get quite messy.
if you are going to make a mess it may as well be a pretty one right?

kimberlee and i pretty much have the best jobs ever!
we love serving all these women and guiding them as they create alongside their new friends.
somehow i have no photos this past month of all the YUM-O food she prepared.
i was too busy shoveling it in my mouth apparently.
her meals are just the best…prepared so thoughtfully…taste so GOOD!
i am so grateful for everything she does at Craft Weekend.

but it's really too fun to be called work for us both!

what is your favorite part of craft weekend when you read about it?
i would LOVE to hear that!
happy monday!

Carolyn - What a special time both crafy and in friendship! I just love all the colorful pictures. What a sweet ministry you have there. I follow you on Instagram but didn’t put it together until now! I feel so inspired to get crafty with some girlfriends. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Carolyn
http://www.sillyhappysweet.com

Sara - LOVE those ruffled aprons! Is there a tutorial somewhere for them??

Christine Ishmael - You know what Meagan? I love seeing the craft weekend pictures and always wish I’d been there but you know what stuck out most this time I viewed…EVERY woman you’ve ever had at the craft house have all been so beautiful…all different and unique but each and every one gorgeous…thanks for sharing – Christine

jennibell - I had an extra canvas laying around. . .one I did a background paint on *years* ago and never got around to finishing the project I had “planned”. . .so. . .we’re spending our Friday night making some art 🙂 Thanks for the great idea!!

Amy M. - Every time there is a new Craft Weekend post, I feel like my heart just smiles. I love hearing how this is a ministry for you with people you love. It seriously just gives me joy to know that there are tons of people that seem to “get” what I love. Sometimes you can feel like you are alone on your on craft island. Thanks for the hope and joy and just fun it is to read your posts and see your photos. Oh…and dream about finding a vintage quilt for less than $20! Sweet! Thanks for all you!

Denise W - I am wondering how the picking for the craft weekend spaces goes? My daughter and I were on one of the very first lists and we would still love to come!!! Do the earlier waiting lists get entered for each draw with all the new ones each time? Thank you!

Stacey - Where did you gt your super cute gray boots? Would love to find a pair before winter ends!
I would love to come to a craft weekend, but honestly don’t think I am her crafty enough. Where do I find details on it, though?
You are such a neat person, love reading your blog!

tara - oh my goodness….my little girl looked at this post with me, and she asked why her room couldn’t be as colorful as your house.
think my next project might be getting some more color in her room.

Melissa Davis - I LOVE all the pictures of the craft house…gorgeous colors!

Anessa - Looks like another lovely craft weekend. Just wondering if you were ever planning to put some prints or pillows back in your shop? I would love a print of those paints or the gum ball machine or maybe that typewriter. Anyways, I love them all and hope you open up the shop again soon. 🙂

Jacci in Ohio - My favorite thing about CW posts is your photos 🙂 It’s fun sometimes to see it all through someone else’s lens… but, really, I always like *your* photos best. And although Instagrams are fun and quick to load… I like your big girl camera photos BEST best.
So, thanks for taking the time to shoot them, edit them, upload them, share them. They make me smile and they inspire me 🙂

Laura - I always wonder how the ladies get their crafts and loot from the barn home? Most of them fly, so I was wondering if they ship the stuff home or pay for the extra suitcase to fly it home?

Monica - Love all of it. Love to hear about the food too! I hope I am still on the waiting list. Monica

Karen Gerstenberger - Meg, since you love globes and maps, do you think it might be fun to put push pins in one of them, with flags showing the name & home of each person who has come to Craft Weekend? xoxo

Janna - IT”S ALL my fav!!! But I mostly love to see all the decor in the craft house;) You have my DREAM job! I want to come someday!

Stephanie Talty - Thank you for sharing the Craft Weekend photos with all of us!
I look forward to seeing them each and every time and they amaze me!
The Craft Weekend house has to be like Disney Land for adults!!
It simply looks like the most magical place on Earth.

Jenn - I love seeing the faces of the lucky ladies that get to attend and where they are from. I’ve got to tell you, last month I had a dream that I was selected to attend and I was so excited that I final was going to get to see the third floor of the craft house. Crazy, huh?!

Amy @ Fig Milkshakes - *Squeal*. I feel it takes quite a bit to make me feel jealous – but… JEAAAAaaaAAlouS! What fun ladies! Thanks for the inspiration, I feel like working on my craft room today…

Angela - I love the aprons every time! I can’t ever choose a favorite either. 🙂 And I love seeing pictures of all the Craft House nooks and crannies… what a special place!

shar y - I love them all, but I do love looking at the house photos and all of the crafts ready to go! I also love looking at Kim’s food so missed those this time. The whole thing looks great and so much fun!

Lisa - My favorite thing about this craft weekend’s post is that AWESOME piece of post office furniture! Don’t paint it! It couldn’t be more beautiful than it is right now. All those little nooks filled with colorful ribbons and things. that picture just melted me. Of course, then I saw the picture of those cute button bracelets. Your life must be so satisfying, sharing all that creativity with others and creating such beautiful art of all kinds. sigh…….

Gretchen - Just when I thought I had an original idea … haha! Can you believe that I posted about my geometric art YESTERDAY?! So funny! Great minds think alike! 😉 http://neweveryam.blogspot.com/2013/01/diy-canvas-geometric-art.html

Melissa - Your craft weekends always look like so much fun! how often do you host them?

Amber - I don’t know if it’s my favorite or my least favorite part when I see things I NEED to own in the background of pictures from Bearly Makin’ It and have to debate the 90 minute drive to pick up something my husband will give me the side eye over.

Southern Gal - I have some empty canvases, I now know what I’m going to do with them! Beautiful.
I love that supply holding piece of furniture. Wow. My daddy worked with the railroad and had a ticket cabinet that I so with I had kept. I think he ended up selling the thing years ago. Bummer.
And I just told my husband and son yesterday that I want a roll up map to put over the chalkboard in our kitchen where we do school most days. Where did you find it?

Heather Crawford - Wondering what letter stamps those are that you used for the lettered signs…all the crafts you made this time are AWESOME!

Georgia - I tried lindseys tutorial and I just cant get the circles to overlap equally lol ahhh if at first you dont succeed….
Georgia x

Su@TheIntentionalHome - My favorite photos is order are
1. pics of the craft house all decorated and ready for guests
2. crafts ya’ll made
3. what everyone bought at the barn
so are those bunting with pom pom fringe next to the pillows in your shop?

Angie - I love your Craft Weekend posts! It always looks like so much fun. I want to be there and create all those amazing projects. I love all of them this time, not sure which is my favorite. Maybe the aprons, they are darling!!!

beckyk - My husband and I live in Scotland but go to Kansas City a couple of times a year and in December we made a trip out to visit friends in Salina. I couldn’t believe he said yes when I asked if we could drive via Marion on the way and visit Bearly Makin’ It and the Barn! It was so fun! The lady there was super sweet and said you had another trip planned for January. Would have been funny to run into you there!

Lisa - Definitely the photos of the charming, magical playhouse for adults! I savor each one! This is such a fairy tale accomplishment for you and Kimberly. See everyone, dreams do come true 😉

cheryl @ a pretty cool life. - I really love the pics of your house. So bright and happy!

Jennifer - seeing the barn and your home so beautifully decorated are my faves. that house looks like the coziest get-away. yes, you guys really have a great job! 🙂

Suzy - I love to hear about it ALL! And I love every.single.photo! I look forward to this post every month! I can’t wait until my name is picked! Every time I see your pics of CRAFT WEEKEND it reminds me of the saying “Do What You Love!”.

Valerie - Oh geesh I just saw that I mispelled rolls…not roles, silly me!!!

Valerie - Wishing that one day I will be able to make one of those gorgeous aprons and eat Kimberlee’s cinammon roles 😉

Lisa M. - i always love seeing all the finished aprons. All that beautiful fabric! And I love looking at the Craft House too 🙂
And I loved seeing the fabric bracelets. So cool! Thanks for sharing.

Momof2 - Love all the pictures!! But my favorites are the crafts that were chosen and what people got at the barn. And then dreaming about what I will get at the Barn when I am chosen to come, ha!! : )

emily - 110% Amazing! So much happiness!

Tiffany - So fun seeing that house again! And all those women you get to bless… lucky them! Glad you and Kimberlee got a nice pic together this time. (Opposed to the SUPER windy one from November.)
I used to love seeing all of the different creative crafts. I still enjoy that, but now I love seeing your smiling faces even more!

Flower Patch Farmgirl - I’m all atwitter.
(LOVE those canvases!!!)

tinaehb3 - looks like another successful weekend 🙂

Jen - Glad you’re home safe.
LOVE your pictures!
FYI…I’ve decided I’m moving into the craft house.

Cindy - It would be a cool idea to have each of your guests mark where they live on your world map! 🙂

Heather Simnitt - Reading about craft weekend makes me wish I was a crafty girl. For real. I love the idea of crafting, but whenever I begin something with my girls I find myself wishing I was just *done.* What’s up with that? So…looking at craft weekend photos makes me feel like I experienced a little crafting and I get to see the end product right away!
Oh – and drooling over all of the bright colors! *LOVE*

dee - I have been following your blog for awhile and you never cease to amaze me.You inspire me to be a better person with all that you do and love- dee x

steph - i love seeing what everyone gets from their antique hunting!
and the aprons are always so awesome to see!
the best part for me though?
definitely that i get to BE THERE in less than 2 weeks doing the same thing!!!!
yipppeeee!

jenrobburton - I definitely think the color and the happiness shows through in the CW photos. And I’m always jealous of the finds at the antique shops.
I would NEVER paint that post office desk. It has such a lovely patina from years of use. And all your craft supplies just pop against the wood.
Glad you made it home safely.

Charly - This is like my third, maybe fourth time to look at them. I love them all! It was an amazing weekend! Now to send a link of the blog to my family and friends…to show off my five minutes of crafting fame!

happygirl - Welcome home. Talk about getting back into the swing of things without taking a beat. You ROCK!

gale - It was the most fun I’ve had in a LONG time – so glad I got to go – and I would go again in a minute!! 🙂 I loved it all – and thanks for the pictures and post! It’s fun to relive the weekend 🙂

elma - Sigh…… I just LOVE LOVE LOVE those aprons!!!! I so love seeing all the pictures!!!
I would LOVE to come some day!!

Melyssa - I love to see the craft house and The Barn! Also love hearing about how the groups differ. I have my fingers crossed that some day my name will come up and I’ll have enough $$ squirreled away to have the best weekend ever!

Lacy - My favorite part is seeing all the color. Seriously, that much color just can’t help but make a person happy! I also really like the different finds people snag at the barn and the other antique shops. I’m on the list and hope to come someday!
I know you’ve answered many questions before but, I’m curious, how far in advance do you let people know they have been chosen?
Thanks for sharing your “work!”

Kate - You guys are so beautiful! What a very, very happy place – YAY!
Did you know that I didn’t get to go to GoPro 🙁 I broke my elbow – super awesome, huh?
So glad Wendy got to come to the Craft House! I bet she had an awesome time!

Tiffany - My favorite part is the colors & fabrics, and mostly happy (non quarreling) women. Yay! Joy’s project was especially nice to see, the different interpretations from the women. In this “episode”, I really liked the postal desk, every craft piece looks so happy and and the Katie Daisy print – beautiful. You guys do have pretty fun jobs!

Katey Deasy - Welcome home. Glad you made it safely. Can’t wait to read about THAT. I love seeing what everyone bought at the barn! I love seeing the house all set up ready for your guest. One day it will be and my mom you will be waiting on. One day. Thanks for sharing with such enthusiasm.

Tanya - It just feels like a vacay when I get to look at the pics. They’re like my sunny Vitamin D in the dreary winter 😀

it’s a good monday.

IMG_20130114_124639

i slept until noon today.
i did get up from 6:45 to 7:30 to see my kids off to school but then straight back to bed.
sleep is a good thing.

craft weekend was pretty excellent this past weekend.

lindsey and joy came as helpers and were nothing less than amazing at that job.

we did not plan our wardrobe… we just happened to all match perfectly!

IMG_20130111_203441

wendy came too!!  (blurry picture is better than no picture? maybe 😉

she took a bajillion photos for us doing all the things we do at Craft Weekend and i got to spend time with her which was super happy for me.

i hope you loved being here as much as i loved having you here wendy!
maybe you should ditch your world tour and just come to craft weekend every month???
there will be cinnamon rolls….

i know you are tempted.

kimberlee pampered us all with food that tastes so much better than anything i could ever make.

IMG_20130112_181952

and our crafty guests were awesome.
so kind.
so happy.
so lovely.
such a treat to have them and get to create alongside them.

IMG_0628-1
tulips are so cheerful in the freezing cold of january.

IMG_0785-2
we made a really cool painting!!

IMG_0899-3

and these were the treasures i brought home from the antique store on saturday.
a quilt…some vintage trims… salt shakers for holding tiny craft supplies…sugar shakers for twine…and a pencil sharpener for the craft house because we are always looking for pencils!

i can't wait to share about the actual weekend.
and tell you about our awesome sponsors we had this month.
it was just a really great time.

now… i guess i have to go run off the cheesecake & cinnamon rolls i stuffed myself with this weekend.
or at least i should go.
but… i would have to get out of my jammies.
and it is 25 degrees out.

we'll see what happens….

happy monday to you!

Heidi Jo the Artist - Love the craft weekend posts! 🙂

Kate - AAGH! You saw Wendy?! Guess what, guess what?! I am finally going to Go Pro this weekend – I am beyond nervous and my stomach is insane! I soooooo wish you were gonna be there.
