it's been six years since i have hung out with a two year old boy.
back when i knew the names of every construction vehicle, every rescue hero
and which was the best matchbox car in the box.
thanks shannon and aaron…for blowing bubbles and playing peek-a-boo.
he is such a good boy.

Carrie K - haaahaaahaaa…those last two made me giggle! what a great kid and what a fabulous job you did capturing him!!

traci - he is adorable. full of personality and you captured it all. great job meg.

Jamie Sampson - so cute. I love, love, love his quirky little smile, it makes me happy. Great Freaking job by the way, the photos are amazing and so insightful and I feel like I totally know and love this little fellow.
Your amazing. πŸ™‚

lauren - i love your photography! awesome backgrounds. these photos are so awesome!!

Kelly O. - Love the one with his tongue sticking out!

Sandy - super cute

Jess - Great pics Meg! Makes me miss my little man being that age!

Wendy - Cute pics! I love the last one – the laughing one – so perfect!

Aaron Kirtley - thanks for the photos meg. They turned out great, and Eli had fun doing it.

Lori Danelle - very handsome little man! and assuming you’re anything like me, you should be very proud of yourself for jumping into the photography thing!! I HATE the beginning, figuring stuff out, not-quite-an-expert stage of things. I wish I could jump past all of that and just be the expert!!!
you are very inspiringβ€”thank you!!
(I’ve recently jumped into my own realm of unknown in the form of my blog: Inksomnia. I’d love it if you’d check it out. http://loridanelle.blogspot.com I promise, it will get better!!!! πŸ™‚ )

Amanda - These pics of Eli are AWESOME! It makes me even more excited for our shoot on Saturday! You are AMAZING Meg!

Heidi Jo the Artist - Love the photos! You are a great photographer!

Brooke - oh.my.goodness. eli is the cutest thing i have ever seen! i just want to sit down on those steps with him and have a conversation about fire trucks, barney, and peek-a-boo…i am sure the words from that cute little mouth would be nothing short of hilarious…adorable!

sandy toe - A true All-American Boy~
sandy toe

Chasity - ah…the lovely co-op again. you captured some terrific moments.

patti - wow those eyes! they remind me of my daughters. big and green! wonderful job capturing the spirit of a laughing, peek-a-boo playing, little boy!

Rebecca - I would drive to Kansas from Michigan just to have you take pictures of my kids!!

gina - what a cutie!

Kim - Once again- amazing photos. He is absolutely adorable.

Tracy - Awww… what a little cutie patootie! LOVE the pictures and LOVE his Green eyes! He’s going to be a heartbreaker! :o) Great job as always, Meg!

Sophie - What a gorgeous little boy (:
Meg, as usual, your photos are absolutely wonderful.

emily

i scouted out some spots for emily's senior pictures but was feeling unsure.

i was so releived when she said "i just want it to be where i wouldn't normally wear my prom dress."
YAY….we were off to the abandoned CO-OP.

emily….you made my job so easy.
your smile is so genuine.
i love all of these
but this one is my favorite….

IMG_6000
IMG_5999_2IMG_6012

or these….

thanks emily.
my first senior pictures were a success!

(anyone know why pictures lose their color a bit when putting them on the blog?
these are so bright and vivid in iPhoto and then here they seem a bit washed out???
if you know….fill me in please.  :)

Carrie K - seriously stunning!!! the photos and the subject!! fun fun pictures…makes me want to be a senior again…haahaahaa

princesslasertron - what a gorgeous young lady!

Heather - Those are all fantastic, but the one of her in street clothes in the crook of the tree…sigh. She will cherish that one always.

Kelli - These pics are great! Very Down-to-Earth! I was wondering if you would be willing to take my son’s one year old pics and a few family shots? http://www.theschrags.blogspot.com

Clair (Emily's Dad) - Megan, these photos are absolutely wonderful. Not only is it impossible to select a favorite from what you’ve posted, I would imagine it will be all the more difficult when we see all you shot. Thank you for bringing such creativity to your session. And yes, the girl’s pretty cute, too. Thanks again for providing Emily with such a wonderful experience.

Jennifer - A++++++++wesome! Love them!
Smiles,
Jen

Lisa - WHAT A LOVELY GIRL. ACTUALLY, YOUNG WOMAN. GREAT PICTURES
HUGS FROM FLORIDA

gina - Gorgeous. those prom dress/urban shots look like a fashion editorial. What fun senior pictures!

Sophie - Wonderful job, Meg!
Beautiful shots of a beautiful girl (:

kate - are you a professional photographer, Meg? If not, you should! You are such an incredible genius! I love, love, love your photos! You made your subject so very beautiful! πŸ™‚
Cheers,
Kate
http://www.toyourstruly.com

Sarah L - Amazing, I have the same prob ,dying to get my hands on photoshop and a decent camera! Love love love these!!i

Courtney - Yeah, to get consistent color, you need to calibrate. And not use iPhoto πŸ™‚ Have you gone to manual on your camera yet? That’ll help too. And have you ever been over to ilp? The best thing ever, I promise! So many helpful people!
http://www.ilovephotography.com
Good start!

silverdaisy - Okay… love the one where she is hugging her knees (B+W) and her toes are sticking out, great photo! also the one in the red doorway with the interesting light play.

Sandy - Those are great Meg! My favorites are with the pink background and the one in the tree (that’s my ultimate favorite). What a great idea to have her pictures done in her prom dress. Does everyone in that area do that? They don’t do it here, but I love the idea (too bad my daughter graduated last year!).

kitchendoor - Meg, those are gorgeous. Really. I wish my senior pictures had been one iota as cool. Instead I look like I am about to commit mass murder on my way to Tony and Tina’s Wedding. Thanks for sharing these!

Sandy Coppertone - Great job. I like the barefeet with the dress better than the flipflops.
I have two suggestions. Check your white balance and try a polarized filter for outdoor shots. In the photo by the water and tree, a polarized filter would have done wonders for the sky in the background. Google images for “polarized filter” and see some examples. In some of the shots her skin has a green tint others a blue tint. Adjusting the white balance will solve this. (I apologize if this was intentional)
If you save your picture in GIF rather than JPG format it will be more consistant on the web. (but then you open a whole other can of worms when your ready to print…)
There is a ton of info for self-educated photographers out there. Take advantage and beware of the sales pitch!

Staci - So SO beautiful…the pictures and Emily πŸ™‚

Jamie Sampson - gorgeous! you totally rocked it. Go Meg! Go Meg! Go Meg! and the chants go on and on πŸ™‚

Kate - Wow! Beautiful! Great Pics!

sandy toe - Very pretty..I love her sitting on the tree looking out..lovely.
sandy toe

emily :] - MEGAN! OH MY GOSH I LOVEEEE THEM!
thank you sooo much. i had a BLAST.
can’t wait to see the rest :]

kasey - beautiful girl.
xo

Laura - I am off to find my prom dress and a stinky alley! Meet me there!
FANTASTIC!

katherine - beautiful girl, beautiful photography!

Rachel - Fabulous shots!

Keri R. - These pictures look great! I want to take some like this in my wedding dress… I just have to have this baby first. πŸ™‚ But my hubs is getting deployed 2 months after the baby is born so I figure if I can lose the weight in time, pictures like that would be cool to send to him in Iraq. I also love the new blog header!!!

cori - cute girl…great photos!
I am pretty sure Karen Russell did a whole post about this once. Maybe look through her archives and see if it helps.

robyn Beckley Vining - it happens to me, too. i was using a blogger for my photog blog and bagged it and am building a site for my business that will include a blog function. it seems it is when a photo has been *edited* for color- anytime i do that they get washed out. blogger does a terrible job interpreting color. i don’t know about typepad.
i have an lcd screen and it doesn’t matter. the sad thing is that i know they look best on my screen, and worse everywhere else. so that’s a bummer.
nice job.
fun, right?!

chas at the wild raspberry - love the combination of fancy and earthy…really nice.
and the setting in the trees by the pond is breathtaking.
what a great photo session.
chasity

Kim - These are amazing. I just love the one of her leaning up against the building. She is beautiful.

Marie - Awesome job…you’ve become quite the photographer, I just got a decent camera 4 months ago and my friend has already asked me to take her daughter’s senior pics…we’ll see how it turns out!
I just tried uploading to flickr instead of directly from my I Photo and then taking the url from flickr and posting it that way and it seems to maintain color that way for me better on my blog.

Jess - Awesome pictures! As always. I love the one in front of the red door.(with the sunlight) If you ever find yourself in South Carolina, you MUST let me know.

Cheryl - Great photos and she looks absolutely divine!!

traci - I love the one in the tree and the ones with the window by her!!!!! Awesome job meg.

valerie @ Robots and Candy - Those are great!
She’s a champ for looking fabulous in a place that smells like manure. I would have looked like I smelled something in every single picture. I’m not good with bad smells….

Julia - fabuloso job! My favorite is the one against the red door. I love it when someone is really into messing around (as she seems to be!) – it’s so much easier than when they’re barely tolerating having their picture taken.
oh, also love the pic under “Johnny’s” so much fun!!!

Rebecca - Moniter calibration; iPhoto has default settings that may not transfer over to those on typepad.com.
Try editing the pics in Photoshop for the web, that may help maintain consistency.
And good work–she looks lovely!

Starnes Fam - What an infectious smile. She’s absolutely darling. And, your photography is fantastic!

danyele - i have the same prob…i think it’s just the way the monitor displays them.
anyway, i love the shots…that johnny’s sign is great! and she is beautiful!!!

AnNicole@OurSuburbanCottage - What a beauty, and I love the photos!

sarah - She’s beautiful and what a great dress..and especially love the flipflops with the dress πŸ™‚
Great photographs, you did an excellent job!

Wendy - You did great! I love these!
She is so pretty and I love the dress w/flip-flops!

jamie - Wow! She is Gorgeous and you did a Superb Job! Congratulations. jamie

Aby - Gorgeous! Great job Meg!

random.

i have been working on etsy orders but feel like i am getting no where.

don't give up on me.
yes…you placed your order a month ago…but i am still working.
the quilted pillows are my favorite to make but take twice as long to complete.
so keep waiting for your lovely pillows.

total randomness….
these are some of my favorite pics from the past 12 months.
i have had to delete a bunch of photos off the computer and just love these pics.
Favscollage

Annie collage

so many are summer photos…coincidence?  i think not.
and so many are annie, i know, but she is the youngest…what can i say?

———————————————————————————————————————-

julie….you rock!
i love my matching flower for my purse.
you are so nice to me.  thank you.

kathy b….you rock too!
that fabric you sent me was SO COOL!
i never see that kind of chenille for sale anymore.
i absolutely love it…thank you.

———————————————————————————————————————-

in bible study yesterday we were talking about proverbs 31.
have you read it?
reading it before has always caused me feel to guilty….
feeling there is so much i lack in the way of running my home.
but thankfully yesterday i saw it differently.
i saw the things i am providing and teaching my children.
i saw ways that i am pleasing to my husband.
if i am trying than i am headed in the right direction.
God knows my heart.
He knows i want to be more like this woman everyday…even when i fail.

read it again yourself and see what you hear God telling you.

———————————————————————————————————————-
i know i say it all the time but it's true….
"back to the craft room"

Rebecca - don’t forget the bit in Prov. 31 where “she girds her loins with strength”! i always loved that part–that this ideal of a godly woman is also incredibly strong–tough, even! And that that strength comes from the Lord. πŸ™‚

Alyssa - i totally think of you as a proverbs 31 woman!!!!

Kate - Hi! Please, please, please don’t stress about the Etsy order. You better promise to put me on the bottom of the list!

Stephanie Howell - what happy photos, thanks for brightening my day~!

Ashley Ann - As if I wasn’t already aching for summer, you go and post so many of the things I love! One of these days I have to figure out how to add a craft room to the house, your “back to the craft room” comments make me want to do the same!

Elisa - the picture of waffle in the frame- see you could totally be a dog photographer!! Love it!

Jill Adkins - Always working towards the Proverbs 31 woman…thanks for the new “insight”…LOVE the picture with the “dog and frame!”…
Blessings!

gina - Beautiful photos!
Sometimes I feel like based on the photos I take you’d think I only have two daughters (the younger two) but the older ones a) no longer humor me by letting me take a million pictures of them… and b) are VERY picky about which photos I delete and which ones I’m allowed to save- and post on my blog. πŸ™‚

Aubrey - You know I love all your pictures. I keep trying to take better ones, but I think I lack the eye, and shutter speed, oh and good camera. Maybe I can convince my husband we NEED one before the accident comes in September.
And I have two packs of Zinnia seeds waiting to be planted. I haven’t planted this kind before, and I’m excited. If it would just stop SNOWING.

Brooke - hhhmmm…wow…i really needed to read that right now…very convicting for some thoughts i have been battling…thank for you that…or rather Him leading me to what i needed through your blog…
photos…amazing as always…colors just reach out and grab you…i love it!

danyele - proverbs 31 is a great reminder of how i am continuing to attain…ahhh.
and the pics, girl, the pics! love them!

adrienneK - proverbs 31 is my favorite passage from the bible. our preacher did a mothers day sermon on it and it truly touched my heart. i go to it often.:)
these pictures are why i fell in love with your blog so much color so many smiles love it!!
<3
adrienneK

kristi rediske - I sure do enjoy your blog-you sure have alot going on. I love all your pics-I know what camera you have but your pictures are so crisp and clear-I have a canon and my pics seem to come out blurred alot-do you have any suggestions? I have a grandaughter and sure would like to take some really good pics of her. She is on the run alot-she is 15 months. I would appreciate suggestions. Thanks

Christina - Your pictures are beautiful! “They” used to say that the baby got his or her picture taken much less than the first child/children…but I think digital photography makes it so easy to take so many pics that the babies these days (or youngest, when they’re not babies anymore) get more taken than the older ones did.
Aren’t you glad someone left such brilliant commentary on the state of photography in the 21st century? Glad to help.
I always enjoy reading your blog, and it’s so cheerful to look at-thanks for a bright ending to a long day.

Marie - my favorite verse and the first verse i learned after becoming a Christian is Proverbs 31:30…it’s awesome and never loses its value and intensity when I read it. Great reminder for women.

Jess - Proverbs 31 has been my goal for as long as I have been a mother. I too feel that I’ve been slacking in more than one area. Glad that you are able to see it differently now. Hopefully our spring break will help me get back on track.
I just love all the wonderful colors in your photos. One of my fav’s is Annie in the tutu holding balloons!

Shannan - Thank you for sharing the verses with all of us ladies. We can never be reminded too much! And seriously – try not to worry about the orders. Take your time. Create with love and joy, as I know you do, and not stress and worry.

maribeth - i love that proverb and belief God gave it to me as my life verse. it is such an inspiration to read. i think you can’t focus on all the things she accomplished physically but spiritually,
“charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” as women, we focus on how we look and what all we can accomplish, but God wants us to put him first. i love that he included these verses to remind us to place our focus on Him.

karol - Oh my goodness, I can’t believe you mentioned Proverbs 31. I had never read this passage until a month ago when the minister for my mother’s funeral suggested she read it at my mom’s service. It truly captured my mother and I think about it frequently since the 5th of March. She was the sort of woman who was a great mom, wife, and homemaker. I miss her so. Thank you for mentioning it and once again reminding me of the type of woman I would like to be.
And by the way, it sounds as if you are doing a beautiful job of creating a warm and loving home for your husband and children.

Julia - What wonderful family photos – I think the one with your son leaning on your shoulder is fantastic.
Don’t worry too much about getting things done super fast – I’ve gone through those phases (too many times) and it never feels worth it.

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - I love Proverbs 31. She seems so perfect. I love that her children call her blessed. The pictures you posted were gorgeous. I’m in love with all of the color. You really are a talented photographer and from what I can see with your gifts and relationships you are very much like the Porverbs 31 woman.

Lori - I would recommend proverbs31.org. And their monthly magazine is short and to the point with great articles. I need reminders to keep on the P31 path so I also get the daily devotional by email.
Loved reviewing the pictures. You really brighten my day whenever “Whatever” pops up in my Google reader!
Don’t stress out about the etsy orders – I doubt any of us ordered something that is an emergency! Although, my mail lady stopped her van by my mailbox yesterday and rooted around in the back where she keeps the packages. I was sooo excited, then she just hopped back in and drove away! Cruel…:)

Keri - Being patient over here…. =)
Love the photos, I’m very ready for those type of shots as well. I try to enjoy each day for what it is, but sometimes it’s hard.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Heather Mattos - love, love, love that proverb.

robyn Beckley Vining - another encouragement on prov 31 is that it was written by a mother as a poem for her son and as advice as to what kind of woman he should look for- and she used an alphabet to come up with what she said (the woman didn’t exist at the time- she was a mother’s dream for her son)…i imagine you could go through our alphabet and find ways that you care for your family & fun things about yourself and your marriage that can correspond with each letter.
i imagine your endeared readers could also probably do that for you πŸ™‚

Sharla - I love that picture of waffle in the frame and your little one walking with the balloons in her too funky outfit. I had never seen the one with your girl holding the bubble or the frog – so awesome. I can tell your son smiling on (your?) shoulder is a great captured moment. Thanks for sharing!

Kim - Thanks for sharing your insight on the Proverbs 31 Woman! Especially as we are at that busy season of life, with “younger kids”!

Anna - That zinnia picture was the very first picture/post that I ever read on your blog. I have been hooked ever since πŸ˜‰ Thanks for a great year of color and happiness. Even though I don’t know you personally you are a blessing to my life…you bring joy to my day when I stop by πŸ˜€

a walk.

i promised annie we'd go for a walk on wednesday morning before preschool.

so that afternoon we did.
she rode in her stroller with her sippy cup and a bag of sliced apples to snack on.
i had my camera.
both happy.

IMG_4489
it was so bright and sunny.
the squint-your-eyes kind of sunny.
the nice weather came back…no longer being rude.
on our walk we were trying to pay attention to the small details….textures…colors.

good times.
the sun makes so many things better and hopeful.

also making things better…..argyle tights.

Patty - I very much enjoy your blog – especially the photos – especially the close-ups of your kids – and the ones you take in front of walls. You have quite an eye.

Jamie - I love your blog, so glad to have found it. We live on the East coast and I like seeing the old Newton area where I went to school. Maybe you could wander a couple blocks over and take a photo of my dad’s shop – Just Like New Shoe Repair, I keep wondering what it looks like these days. I haven’t been back to Newton since 2002. Great photos.

erin - oh how i love the midwest! i’m a missouri girl transplanted in south carolina, and yes, the weather is a lovely 75 and sunny today, but it can’t compare to the flat happiness that is home.
i love reading your blog, and finally worked up the courage to comment. the midwest lured me in.

adrienneK - finding all the A’s along the way so neat!!!

Di - You make an ordinary day in our lil ‘ole town seem “so much more.”

Tami - Thats so kewl you have a fox theatre as well, we have one here in Atlanta,Ga

Jill Jones - You are great. Just great!
~Jill

Allikayes Mama - Hey girly! Love your photography!! Also I must tell you…I love looking through your fun links that you find! I always check to see if you have added any fun ones!! Thanks!!

kasey - you always dress her so cute.
xo

Melanie - LOVE those tights! Too bad I’m too old to wear something like that and still look cute. πŸ™‚

Ruth - these are gorgeous! fascinating for me culturally… i am in london and kansas seems like another world! i love the bright colours and big spaces and the fact you can see so much of the sky… wanna swap?? please?!

Ashley - I love what Annie wears! She reminds me of my 4 year old. Isn’t life so fun with a 4 year old?! Love your blog, your great ideas and your beautiful heartfelt decorating.
I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you because I know losing Cora must have really made your heart hurt and hit really close to home.

Shannan - Your town looks SO much like my town! Also, you need to make a coat rack with all of those faucet handle thingys.

sarah - Pretty.
Love the last one of Annie!

Adrienne Hopkins - What fun! We too got a taste of nice weather today. Yes. To live again. πŸ™‚

Julia - I love the pics – what could you do with all of those valves? Something fun…

BlueCastle - I love your pictures! It’s amazing how much beauty there is in the small things. Argyle tights rock! πŸ™‚

Regina (QueenieBee) - What a fun time together! She’s such a cutie!

danyele - that annie is so stinking cute! and i love the pics!!! the faucet handles make me smile.

gina - LOVE her red shoes!!
And all of the A’s and other great finds. πŸ™‚

Erin - Besides the photos of Annie having a great time on your walk, my favorite is the tail light. Something about the color combo makes me happy. Thanks for the photos!

Amber - I love sunny days…they just make me happier! What a fun morning. I love that lime green and blue truck. Such great colors. And yes those tights are too cute! Thanks for sharing a bit of your happy morning.

carissa... brown eyed fox - FOX theatre… i wanna see that place!
i lOvE your pics! all i know is it sure seems like you live in SUCH a neat area… a lot of spirit!
we woke up to SNOW!!!!! πŸ™‚ crazy!
i know the sun will peek out again this week… i hope!

FrenchGirlRN - Great photos…love the tights!

patti - wonderful photos, as always. i absolutely love the old, distressed, and weathered things. i feel like often times people are so quick to disregard and build new without appreciating the “love” that goes into a weathered building, chipped paint, rusted hardware, etc.

Amy Warden - The sun DOES make everything better. I’ve been cooped up with a sick one all week, and I was so glad we could go outside for a couple afternoons. πŸ™‚

Karli - I love the the photos and I love the Argyle tights! Adorable!

Carly - i love seeing the world through your eyes and camera lens. your blog blesses me daily.

Starnes Fam - Beautiful photography. You really have a good eye for it.
I had my first girl after 2 boys 1.5 years ago and I simply cannot buy enough tights – the funkier the better. If you have stores or sites with cute tights, please send them my way! I’m a newbie to the girl world!

Michelle - Thanks for sharing a hint of Spring.
Michelle
http://oneordinaryday.wordpress.com/

Gini - Really, really great photos. You inspire me to stop and take the time to do such a thing. I’ve been carrying my camera around with me more. Thank you for that.

tasha - love the argyle tights!

christine - gorgeous pics!! the “a” one is fabulous!!

Heather Mattos - agreed!

Kelly Anne - Looks like a fantastic outing! And I ADORE those tights. If I could have them in my size, I’d probably wear them every single day.

Jen N - You are a great photographer. You have inspired me. I love the picture of Annie with the ‘A’ next to here.

Staci - GREAT picures Meg…as always! Annie’s argyle tights make me happy too πŸ™‚ I really would like a pair πŸ™‚

chas at the wild raspberry - what great photography!!!! i love the close-up of what appears to be a very old and colorful truck. it’s so nice to notice the small details in life.
warmly,
chasity

jesse Peak - Looks like a great time!

Tess S. - argyle makes every day fabulous. :o)

Rach - I know you are a busy woman, but I nominated you for something on my blog if you have a sec to check it out. Love the new pics!!!

Carrie - Love the pictures. The last one was the best!

"del tacooooo!"

and this is funny too.

looking forward to seeing what was funny tonight.

*****************************************************************

My First Kitchen - I just watched my DVR’d Oscars yesterday. REEEEALLY good. Surprisingly. And, yes, they cut to Brad and Angelina when Jennifer Aniston presents an award. TWICE.

Hannah Devries - Your blog is fabulous. I am going through major blog envy right now. I hope one day I can be as cool as you.
My friend showed me your site. We love it.

vicki - That’s some good funny right there! Thanks!

amy bell - hey girlie…
i have lots of vintage rick rack, some fabric scraps and some sewing odds and ends to donate for your new shop. i would love to help with the fund raising to honor sweet cora.
xoxo
amy

Laura Phelps - I was at the Oscars!!!! It was fantastic! Go and watch!

Lazy Mom Leslie - Too bad it’s not always that funny!

Kelly O. - thanks for a laugh! we don’t have cable, so I miss out on this stuff!

carly - i just wanted to let you know, i was at old navy this weekend, and there is a red and white polka dotted hooddie there with your name on it! you cannot be 19.50!

Julia - That’s why I didn’t bother with watching the Oscars – how can I get excited for a movie if I haven’t seen it? Once they come out on DVD then I’ll be excited for them!

Suzanne - just got through commenting on MY blog about what i thought was funny on the oscars…they were really good this year, even though i hadn’t seen any of the movies either…come share whether you & i thought the same thing:)

Kim - Likewise – I haven’t seen any of the movies and I rarely get to watch the Oscars. I’ll catch up on what everyone wore by looking at the Today Show!

villapacis@blogspot.com - I love love love your blog. it’s so colorful and warm, and always brings a smile to my face. you make me want to be more crafty and spontaneous than I actually am… and I have the urge to have many more children… I think that’s a good thing too!:-) thanks for sharing.

Wendy - Okay, those were really funny clips… Why can’t the Oscars always be so fun?

It is a Japanese site which allows you to convert photos to vintage (cool) If it is in Japanese when you go to the site just click on “English” in the top right corner!
I think some of these baby pics would look cool in vintage

Jewel/Pink Ink - Someone recommended your blog for “color”. They were right! I love bright colors and these photos are great antidote for winter blahs. πŸ™‚

eryn - Oh, my friend made that cute snowman ornament! Michelle Allen, she goes to my church…and oh, so talented! It’s funny, because I’ve thought to myself before that you and she are both so creative, and I thought that might like some of her ideas. SMall World!
Praying for Cora.

Jamie Sampson - love love LOVE these! Thanks for making my day even happier. πŸ™‚

courtney - I love these pics!

Deb - Hi Meg,
I LOVE your blog……Can I just tell you the similarities we have between us! Same style, kitchen, dog and so many thoughts and ideas. We are always thinking the same things. It is all so weird to me. I am not sure how I found your blog but it is my favorite and I know if we ever meet we will become the best of friends! I just posted a picture of our dog. She is almost 4 years old and about 75lbs!!!! Soooo big! She grew much larger than they said she would. I love the pictures (google eyes had me peeing my pants) of your dog, it just cracks me up because we have the same silliness with our dog. They are the BEST dogs ever…great with the kids and let us take pictures with things on their heads. I just started my blog in December but wanted to share a picture of my dog with you. It was from last summer!
God Bless.

Alaina - Where, oh where, oh where……did you find those adorable red shoes?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sigh….

Christine - sorry…didn’t mean to post twice (now three times….)-yikes!!

Christine - Your blog is my favorite. I appreciate how you show the world your love of color and
all things “good”.
May your day be filled with joy.
Christine.

Christine - Your blog is my favorite. You inspire me to look for color in my life and
be awake to “all good things”. Thank you.
Christine.

Lisa - Hi Meg,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends who lost their little boy. I’m so sorry.

jerusalem - well you found it! I love the pink basket. Perfect.
Happy Week!

Trina - That does feel good.. this is why I love your blog so much.. it is just like a big drink of cheer!

traci - We have friends who have also lost their 10 yr old son to cancer. I would have been angry and stayed in bed for years but they thanked God for each day they had him and continue to win people to the Lord each day….amazing people who raised an amazing boy to see Jesus.
Gods plans are not ours but he always provides.
lOVE YOUR HEART and your spirit!!!

Sara - You are in my thoughts sweet girl…you are loved, you are special, you brighten so many of OUR days by your honesty and open-hearted entries. I am so sorry for the heartbreak of loss in your life. Love always, Sara

meredith - Aw Meg, you are a faithful girl. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Childhood cancer is one of the things on my list to ask God about when I get to heaven. There’s just no understanding it in this world that’s for sure. I’m sure you and your family are being a wonderful support for your friends and sometimes that’s the only thing you can do I suppose. Thinking of you, hoping you find some peace in your heart soon.

God bless them.

Queen Bee - The colors are wonderful! Though my fav is, of course, Waffle. That dog just has so much character!
Deeply sorry about your loss. Cancer reeeeeeeally does stink. Our community (tiny town) lost a 12 year old girl to it two years ago and we’re all still very affected by it.

Jennifer - Ah, thanks! Love the one of your dog! Not to change the subject, but I was going to make your recipe for Chicken Tortilla soup this week and I was hoping you could tell me about how much (1) ‘jar’ of enchilada sauce is?

Dana @BoysMyJoys - LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo of Lauren and Waffle! Priceless!

julie - Love every single picture!! So fun. Thanks for the shiny start to the day.
Guess whose dog is going to be forced to have a fancy frame photo shoot today?

Georgia - Meg,

i wish i hadnt seen the one of the cupcakes though….. im so hungry now! lol I would love to know the recipe for them, as you cant seem to get a good recipe over here in the uk..
xx

Courtney - You’re totally right. That DID make me feel good!

Kim - I so needed that this morning. I can’t help but smile.
And I HATE cancer too. My mom is a survivor-thank goodness- but I still don’t understand why it does what it does. I send love your way.

Amanda Rettke - These are beautiful pictures… full of imagination and whimsey…
You goota gift girl. Now go spread some love.
Many blessings-
Amanda

beth - pretty darn colorful to me…made me smile and get hungry to…those cupcakes look so yummy…can i have one or two, heck all of them?

Juliann Beidler - Megan,
You know, I am so blessed by your blog..and completely blown away/amazed at the same time. I should be doing my Bible Study now and I am going to…a note of encouragement…teenage girls re wonderful. They really have a habit of showing you your best and worst qualities. God tends to teach us something in EVERY situation whether we like it or not. I have never been more humbled, angry, blessed, awed and honored at the same time than when dealing with them.. College also has a way of making them somewhat human to speak with…God is so good, all the time.

katy - I’m in love with this picture post, I soaked in all of the color and feel much better!! Thank you for that.
I’m completely in LOVE with the picture of the “framed dog”, it is priceless. You rock!***

adrienneK - thank you for the colorful images <3

PamperingBeki - Drew thought that picture of Talby was hysterical. He couldn’t stop laughing over it. πŸ™‚
I’m having a playdate at my house Wednesday at 11:00. You’re invited.

Bridgette - Amazing pictures little lady! Cheers to you. Happy Monday!

Chrissie Grace - I’m sorry for your loss, Meg.
The pictures are all beautiful.
I’m having a give-away full of color! Come over and play!:)
xo
Chrissie Grace

Blanca - So sorry for your loss. My condolences to his family. On a brighter note all of your pictures are great. My favorite has to be the one of Waffle and his red bow.

Wendy - What a nice way to start a Monday. I Like the photo of all the children’s books. We have many of the same ones. Classics. Children’s literature is one of the joys in life.
I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer three years ago. It was quick but cruelly painful. It’s hard to see someone you love suffer so much. Ironically he spent his life researching a cure for cancer. He thinks his early years in the lab exposed him to carcinogenics because many of his colleagues died of the same cancer. I’m comforted in knowing I’ll see him again but I do miss him everyday.
I hope your week is full of hope and joy.

Rachel - Love those red shoes not to mention those cupcakes YUMMY!

Steph - Beautiful pictures. So sorry for your loss.

katie - cancer sucks… it’s the worst 7 I hate when it claims a innocent child, my prayers go out to your neighbors. I could never imagine the pain they are feeling!!
** I love the picture of your dog in the frame!! C-U-Y-U-T-E!!!! **

Kim Howell - Meg.. You are wonderful and I so enjoy your blog..
Thank you for the happiness..
I hate cancer too.. my mom is suffering now with it and is losing her battle slowly .. it is nice to know I am not alone in my hatred!

regina - I meant door not board.

regina - Is that a chalkboard on your board? Is that where you leave notes before you go out the door so you don’t forget? Pretty neat idea….I may have to steal that idea from you but yet I am sure if I tell my hubby I am going to buy chalkboard paint and put it on our door he will think I ma crazy. Maybe I can work on him!

Sandy - I’m so sorry for your loss. Cancer is a bad, bad thing.
On a brighter note, I LOVE the picture of your teen and Waffle – I don’t believe I’ve seen that before. At first glance I thought it was a real framed picture. You are an amazing photographer!

Carrie - I lost my mom to cancer when I was 15. She was only 39. Six years later one of her closests friend who stepped in to take care of her and us while my mom was sick passed away from cancer as well. I hate it too. With everything inside me.
My mom sat my brother and I down in her final days to tell us that if we took only one thing from her struggle it would be to look around and appreciate and renew the relationships with those in our lives. To appreciate my dad more, to love each other a little more, be more tolerant of other people and more understanding of their differences and the things we percieve as problems that they have. I hug my dad more, tell my brother I love him and mean it, and try to found the beauty within everyone. I would give up so much to have her back, but I have found peace over the last 16 years since her death knowing that I took something from her death. That Cancer may have taken her but it DID NOT WIN.
I wish you, your family, and your neighbors/friends peace and understanding right now. I hope through the pain and hurt you are able to find some hope and peace.

callie grayson - Happy Happy Day!
Happy Day to you.

gina - Your photos are so uplifting!
Thanks for that dose of cheer to start the week!
I think cancer sucks too- hate it with all my guts- decided to help do something for people who are fighting it… found this amazing group:

and I think cancer sucks too.

Trish - thanks for the brightness! It sure helps.

She is a good friend of mine and I love her stuff! Of course you would love it too.
Hmmmm, I should do a giveaway of some of her great stuff…….

Trish - Thanks for the brightness! It really helps………

Heidi Jo the Artist - Your photography always makes me happy! I’m sorry for the loved one that died in your life. Cancer surely is a tough disease, losing a child is even tougher.
