Category Archives: funny videos

my babies.

talby and scott were laughing SO HARD watching this old video they found of themselves and sean.
i couldn't breathe when i was watching it…i laughed so hard i cried.
it is crazy and loud and nothing happens but my kids are LITTLE and their laughing is so funny.
i mean both those boys are taller than me and much bigger now.

apparently they think getting their face IN the camera means they won.

and this is totally what spending some time with my kids can be like…. CHAOS.

no one was injured during the making of this video.

i think it's 4 years old.

oh boy.
they are so silly!

and now…. i am going to sit back and wait for Disney to call.
this has disney sitcom written all over it.

no?

are you sure?

ha ha ha

Jacci in Ohio - Hi! Hi! Hiiiiii!!!! Ahhhhhhgh!!!
ha ha.
that was very funny and strangely sweet. and familiar.

Tami - My kids thought this was hilarious. And they had to watch it more than one time. I have 5 too and they act exactly the same way. That is why they thought this was sooooooo funny.

Angela - Scott’s giggling is cracking me up!

Routhie - Had this been around when we were kids, this is exactly what my brothers and I would have done. We managed to be that loud without it, though. Love happy kids!

Stephanie - It’s not just us!! I laughed at your silly kids. These are the kinds of things that are SO annoying while they’re doing them, but hilarious a few years later. We have seven and I feel like this is my life every minute. Except its in my face instead of the video camera. Lol.

steph - i love that they don’t really do anything but laugh… hit one another… and say ‘HHHHHIIIIIII’!!!!
that is one hilario vid.
i’ll have to show my girls.
i might have to bookmark it.
LOL

Suzanne G. - OMG…How funny! My speakers are not working so I watched it with no sound and oh my word, this is hilarious! I like that even Waffle got in the action!

tinaehb3 - Talby has no problem holding her own with the boys even when in a choke hold, lol!!

Melinda George - It’s like playing the game King of the Hill only video style. 🙂

Lennie Jackson - Good times….good times. I was a little worried for Talby there for a minute during the whole choak hold thing but she recovered quite nicely 🙂

Lisa - Kids are so funny! Love how they can enjoy the simplest of things. 🙂

Meg P - My two year old little dude climbed up in my lap to watch this video with me. He definitely thought they were saying “Hi” to him! He kept saying “Hey!!” and waving so hard! And then when it was over he asked for “another!” Ha! Kids can be fun sometimes 😉

Corinne - Yes please call disney! It is so much better then Dog with a Blog!

Angela A - Oh my. I have two that get crazy. I can’t imagine 5 of them. I love that Waffle had to join in too.

wowza!

well…. how awesome are you?

i was not sure i could meet my goal of 50 stoves…$1000.

and as of NOW we have raised $4230 and sponsored 211 stoves.

THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!

let's keep this momentum going!

🙂

we have five more days…. let's hit $5000!!!!!  i bet we can!!

thank you to everyone who gave so far!
the adventure project thinks you are so cool.

—————————————————————————————————————-

this fake commercial was on Saturday Night Live last week.
i thought it was very funny….

also The Lumineers were on!!!!
they were so so SO goooooooood!
did you see it?
you should go over here and watch  and then watch this one too!
they are pretty dreamy to listen to.

i meant to have my craft weekend post up and ready today.
but it's not gonna happen.
i have been so busy….very happily busy… all good stuff.

how about some instagrams from the past week-ish?

IMG_20130109_123221
annie loves to go to the thrift store with me.
i told her she could pick one thing only….. i wish she would have chosen that couch!
instead we came home with that valentines bear from 2006.
i know it's 2006 because that is what is on the bear's foot.

IMG_20130110_070406
my favorite mug.

IMG_20130113_092353
kimberlee's coffee cake….it was totally delicious.

IMG_20130114_124639
many monrings look like this over here.

IMG_20130114_145017
i went back to the mall last week and the gold shoes
that were completely covered in gold glitter were 70% off!
score.

IMG_20130114_195334
annie shouted "MOM pleeeeeease can i get one of these?! They are only $39.99!!"

only???

IMG_20130115_093539
ran five miles by myself…. well, me and the avett brothers and mumford & sons.

IMG_20130115_170230
tulips.
they are so nice on the eyes.

IMG_20130116_183707
talby found these in the bathroom and wanted to know WHY?
Why do we have them? Whose are they? What are they for? Where did they come from?

(they are a mold of craig's teeth…fascinating right?)

IMG_20130116_134920
a vase of dr.seussy flowers were sunny and nice during this FREEZING week we have had.

IMG_20130117_083430
so cold.
going running in this cold weather is quite something.
frozen thighs no matter how far we go.
but the reward will be endurance when the weather improves…. right?
i hope so.

IMG_20130117_100721
i love this breakfast.
cutie…greek yogurt… granola… coffee with LOTS of half & half.

IMG_20130117_152350
cleaning at the craft house is always pretty decent because it's all so pretty to see.

IMG_20130118_082440
i steal my husband's socks for cold running…. they are just better.

IMG_20130118_100927
on friday we did our run and then gathered at my friend's house and helped her prepare 25 meals for her freezer as a birthday gift to her.  :)
the gift was helping it get accomplished.
she is super organized so we did what we were told and it all worked out great!
that is my favorite way to cook… "just tell me what to do"

IMG_20130118_105204
i chopped and chopped and chopped.

IMG_20130118_140355
then i put together calzones.
it was a lot of work but so worth it!  it's a GENIUS way to cook meals.

IMG_20130119_080816
saturday morning i snuck in some time under a blanket with coffee and my book.
the sun came up and became too much for me sit there anymore.
but i will take that sunshine anytime!
IMG_20130119_131701
i took sean to his basketball tournament for the day… just the two of us.
he had three games and i really enjoyed it all.
it has been SO MUCH fun to watch my kids improve in their sports this year.

IMG_20130119_175558
after sean's three games we went to scott's game at our old high school gym!
it was very surreal to be there as a grown up… as a parent… of a HIGH SCHOOLER?!
so weird.
and lots of the same people sitting or standing in the same place they did when i was in high school?!!

IMG_20130120_104452

i am reading The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out.

it's wordy but so far it's reeeeeally good.

"for grace proclaims the awesome truth that all is gift"

IMG_20130120_201415
sunday night swimming…. yes please.
craig and sean spent almost the whole time wrestling.
why do boys do that so much?

IMG_20130120_221613
talby organized all annie's babies for her so annie had to feed them all before going to bed herself.

IMG_20130121_100005
and this morning…. we ran 6.17 miles in 17 degrees.
it was HARD.
but it's done. THANK GOODNESS!

IMG_20130121_114346
then we met AGAIN but this time at the craft house and we made freezer to crock pot meals!
we made 6 recipes all together and bagged them in freezer ziploc bags!
awesome.

IMG_20130121_143804
touching all that raw meat all day was kinda gross but i think we will all happily eat it.

i will definitely blog the recipes we tried and show more pics of that soon!
i honestly can't wait to do it again!

and now i am stinkin' tired.

i am going to bed.

thanks again for the stove sponsors!!!

Securedownload

you are RAD!

if you haven't given yet and you want to… CLICK HERE  and it will tell you how.
it couldn't be easier.

Jaime Melcher - Will you share the 25 meals for the freezer with us? I would love to do something like this… just tell me what to do! 🙂 Smiles!

tinaehb3 - the commercial is hysterical!!!!!!

jennibell - Your Annie and my Margaret would get along so well!!! She always picks out stuffed animals or some other gross thing like that at thrift stores but I say “no”. . .it has to be something that can be washed without falling apart — ha! And she would completely want to help Annie feed all those babies too 🙂 Yea on the stoves and double-yea on the running in 17 degrees. . .I.could.never.
And we’ll have our first high-schooler next year. . .wow.

Angie - How in the world do you manage to accomplish so much? There are so many awesome things in this post I don’t even know what to comment on. What I do know is that Freezer Cooking is awesome. I wish I could find the time & dedication to do it!!!

Lennie Jackson - Love the couch also! I bought a stove :). Hope you surpass your goal!!! Way to carry out God’s work a little at a time.

denise@victory rd. - snl clip is hilarious.
want your polka dotted.
it’s too cold to run (and i live in cali. wimp).
ragmauffin words, so so good. i don’t deserve Him and His love either.

Tracy - Congrats on the stove donations!!
Can’t wait to hear about the crockpot meals!!!

amanda - Woot! It’s amazing what people with a purpose can accomplish!

Lisa - Freezer to crockpot meals sound awesome – totally what this working-outside-the-home mama needs. Can’t wait to hear more about it! 🙂

Erika - I LOVE your blog and look forward to reading it every day!!!! This is my first time posting. I am amazed and so proud of you for running in the cold…brrr!!! I also would love to know the freezer to crockpot meals and what the other meals your friend organized for you guys to make for her birthday. What a fantastic idea!!!!
Erika
essvedy@aol.com

susan - Love all the pictures, Meg! I have to tell you that I went to Ikea this weekend and saw that tray and thought of you! I almost bought it, but got the long rectangle with rainbow dots instead.

Lisa M. - That’s awesome about the stoves! Great job!
And you ran in 17 degree weather?? I’ve stopped running outside at the moment cuz it’s reeeeaaallly cold (1 degree today) and I don’t know if I’d make it. My problem is clothing. I always start out really cold then half way through I’m taking off gloves, my hat and wishing I could shed some clothes! I think I might have just been inspired to go out (no, not in 1 degree). Maybe when it gets above 20 🙂

Lisa - Wowza is right!!! So awesome how many stoves were bought!

Jenny B. - So fun! One random question… Do you like your new rainbow knives? 🙂

Janna - CONGRATS!! AWESOME!!! On the stoves AND the running;) Had to comment and say hey! that’s my fav mug too;) Is it a RE mug from Target? I just got one at Goodwill a few weeks ago, same color, and it’s my new fav! Your flowers look so yum. Makes me wanna go buy some. And I just printed off 19 recipes to double and a groc list from pinterest to do freezer to crockpot meals. Can’t wait. I LOVE your idea of doing it with friends for their bday.Genius! Also I am so in love with the Craft House and CW I can hardly stand it. I am 34 now and told my best friend that is what we are gonna be doin in ten years. Sounds like the BEYOND DREAM JOB!! I hope her and I can come to a CW before ten years tho. YOU ROCK!!

Flower Patch Farmgirl - I am blown straight away that you ran 6.something miles in 17 degrees. I mean…Superwoman. I ran 1.1 mile in the warmth of my basement and thought I might die. And I walked half of it.
Also: The stoves!!!!!!!!!!!!! woop woop!

Tiffany - I’m so happy for you with the success of the stoves! See the difference you make?! Amazing! YOU rock!

that was a long break. :)

well….another craft weekend is past and i am feeling fabulous.
and sleepy.
12 wonderful women have blessed my life again.
it was a great one.

i was thanking God all weekend for bringing Craft Weekend to be.
thankful for each woman he has brought here.
thankful for Him knowing just who to bring for each weekend.
i am so grateful.

and i kept thinking over and over how God brought kimberlee into my life so sweetly.
when i took her girls photos 4 years ago we could never have imagined what the future would hold for us!

IMG_2138-1

her talents for craft weekend are amazing.
her cooking is a true gift.
everything she makes tastes so SOOOO good.
and then she brings it with a cup of coffee to go with it!
she has a servants heart and loves to give the gift of relaxation to the women who come to CW.
everytime she serves a meal i feel so incredibly blessed.

IMG_0890-1

she is also very organized.
when you get the special invite to CW….she is the one who wrote it.
she keeps track of all the details of who and when and where the women are coming.

she tells me when i need to focus and what to be focused on.  :)
i am so thankful for that.

she is thoughtful too!

i am so grateful that God knew that i would need kimberlee.

IMG_2348-1

she is awesome.

thanks kimberlee for making craft weekend so totally great.
thank you for being the most fun person i could work with….ever.

and have you seen this video?
it is so stinkin' cute.
that is one lucky lady.

seriouslysassymama - That was the best video ever! Reminds me how much I love my lovin man!

Corey - Thanks so much for sharing the proposal video….it made my day!

Lisa - Over the years I’ve realized not everyone has awesome REAL friends. Always thanking God for mine too!
That video… I LOVE. I listen to that song every day. No joke. LOVE it! 🙂

Jana Banana - I’m finally getting around to leaving you a comment….I’m not sure how I arrived at your blog, but since I have, I’ve loved following along and find your photography fantastic! I’m so inspired by your crafting and the craft weekends you’ve established; incredible! I’m so glad you have such a neat friend in your life, too. Thanks for sharing your positive energy and creativity.

jacqui anderson - omgosh!!! that was so stinkin cute, bought tears to my ears!!

Angela - My 16 year old son showed me that video, needless to say I thought it was even sweeter that he appreciated it too.

amy jupin - kimberlee is awesome.
i am so happy you introduced us too!
i bet this post really touched her heart.
awwww, group hug!

Cathy - Great video!!

Aby Gittings - OMG!! BEST proposal EVER!!!! I am crying!!! Soooo very cool!!

Melissa - Oh my! First of all, what a sweet post of appreciation for Kimberlee! I’m sure she knows you appreciate her, but it is nice to be reminded every once in a while. And second, I was crying into my coffee with that proposal! How sweet that he would go to all the trouble with all those people and how much they must love the two of them to practice and get it down pat! Amazing! That is something none of them will ever forget. Thanks for sharing that, I loved it!

Kimberly Dial - Isn’t that just like God? 🙂 I can tell that you & Kimberlee make a great time … I hope to meet you both some day!

HandbagPigtail - Kimberlee sounds like an amazing blessing for sure and thank you for telling her so. I’ve always been baffled that people, in general, don’t tell others how they truly feel until its too late and the other person is lying at the front of a church in a casket. I’ve made it a point in my life to love on and appreciate those around me NOW.
Just yesterday we lost someone very dear to us but there’s peace in knowing we told him how much we loved and appreciated him…and often. And now he’s in glory with Jesus:)
Praise God for sweet friendship and time to recharge, right?

Karen Giddings - Kimberlee is an incredible lady (and so are you!). I speak for myself and Tracey that we are so in your fan clubs. 🙂 You touched our hearts and we are forever grateful for our experience at last month’s Craft Weekend. God is so good.

annie - AMAZING!!!! That’s awesome!!!!
What a great way to start my Tuesday morning off with a smile!!!!!

Beth Ann - What a super fun way to be proposed to!!!!

summer - Oi, that video began a two hour happy/ugly cry festival between YouTube proposal/military homecoming videos and myself. But it was cathartic, even if it made me talk my hubby’s ear off that night all about proposals and homecomings 🙂 I am such.a.girl.

Jen Brandt - What a sweet post about Kimberlee. I’m sure you made her heart smile.

Kim - Don’t you just love it when you find a friend that brings out the best in you? That makes you even better than you already are?
My daughter (she’s 11) has recently made a new friend. They bring out the best in each other. It is so cool to see. It is such a neat experience for the girls to have early on, to learn that some people bring out the best in you while others, well, not so much. I am so thankful for that other little girl! She has brightened my daughter’s life, just like Kimberlee has brightened yours.

TAB - What a blessing to have such a special friend.

Sara Torbett - Glad you have Kimberlee and that another weekend was God-sent! I’m curious-what’s on the sign in the pic with Kimberlee and the big vase of flowers?
Can’t wait to see more Craft Weekend pics!

Tracie - I was just sobbing while I watched that. Awesome!

Amy Lynne - Oh my word! That was the best proposal! What a great way to start out together!

jen - thank you for putting joy in my morning. that was the best proposal ever! tears, smiles and coffee. xoxo. thanks!

happygirl - You certainly are blessed to have Kimberlee in your life. God is good, all the time. 🙂

Gemma - All teary eyed from that proposal video. So cute!!!
Gemma xx

Carolyne - Meg, I think you need to do an international craft weekend!! Us aussies are missing out big time and you are a big tease in waving this wonderful weekend in our faces. Not fair!!!! (stamping my feet on the ground)…I love hearing about these weekends and look forward to all the mischief you gals get into. Seriously we need to look at getting us over there to craft house. hugs.

Pat - What a grand proposal!!! Oh, and the craft weekend is good, too. LOL

Stephanie - You and Kimberlee are so cute.
And I am totally teary eyed after that proposal!!

alimoll - I pray EVERY DAY that I get an invite to Craft Weekend! What a blessing that would be! But, I am patient. I can wait. I love that you do this Meg, and that you have a friend like Kimberlee to help you make this all happen! God Bless you both!

Terrie - Ok…my turn to make you cry! Sweet proposal!!!
Of course…it doesn’t hurt that I spent the day with my dear friend and her daughter
making their wedding invitations!
Can’t wait to hear all about another fabulous craft weekend!!
Rest up!

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - Best Video Ever. Crying!
And yeah. Kim. Burly. rocks. 🙂 hugs to you!

Katie - Meg – May I ask where you purchased the rainbow bead necklace? Thank you
-Katie

emily (justem) - Hey! That’s me! What an awesome surprise! I will contact you! 🙂
And I LOVE that proposal video…I was making everyone I know watch it… 😉

Heather S. - You have to be totally confident that the answer is YES, dontcha think? 😉 Cute video!

Ann Williams - Hi! I have been reading your blog for a long time now…I don’t know…about a year the way time flies? Just wanted to say thank you for the fun and inspiration! Craft Weekend looks like the most amazing experience! I would sooooo like to do that and spend a weekend with faithful, fun, funky ladies! How do you get on the list for future weekends? 🙂

fridays are awesome.

it is SUPER windy here today.
i have some girls i go running with a couple days a week and this morning in the dark we were all texting each other hoping someone would want to bail out so we all could.
“is it cold out?”
“YES and windy!”
“really windy!!!”
“anyone want to run”
“UMMMM…. i guess so”

IMG_3666-1

we did it.
i am so glad.

it was miserable into the wind.
M I S E R A B L E
but the second half was fabulous.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

WATER4CHRISTMAS…. (see the post below this one)

let me be clear:  where is says “make a donation”  it means a hand crafted item to donate.
not money.
you can give money to Water4CHRISTMAS right here but that is not through the etsy shop.
and you can SHOP in the etsy shop.
but donating money and donating crafts are two different things.

what are you going to make?!!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

IMG_3581-1

yesterday i sat on my couch in my pajamas wrapped in an afghan in front of a space heater
with a stocking cap on….i get cold in this drafty house.

i worked on pictures and emails.

IMG_3594-4

i looked out my window and leaves were blowing everywhere.
it looked it was snowing but it was all yellow leaves.

IMG_3588-2

one of our trees lost ALL of it’s leaves in about an hour.
i had to go capture it…. in my pajamas.

IMG_3596-5

IMG_3645-9

IMG_3649-11

i wish i had a baby so i could set them right in those yellow leaves and take pictures of it.
i should have brought waffle out!
ha ha ha.
he’s the closest thing i have to a baby now.

IMG_3598-6

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i was loving my bible study yesterday!
in BSF we are studying Acts.
but last week we jumped over to Hebrews for a while.

IMG_3654-12

sometimes i read the bible and it’s like i have never read it before in my life….
everything seems so new and clear and means so much.
even though i have read those passages over and over for the past 20 years.
but God makes His Word just STAND OUT and SPEAK even after all those years.
after reading it maybe 100 times… suddenly it means something new to my new heart.
i don’t want to ever stop growing in my faith.

the bible is just so stinkin’ AWESOME!

can i get an amen?

Kristin S - Amen sista!
Happened to me in Exodus and Numbers yesterday. Craziness. Awesomeness.

Anthony - Appreciate your making the effort to discuss this, I find myself strongly about this and lovmind updatie reading much more about this topic. Whenever possible, as you gain knowledge, do you mind updating your site with extra information? It’s very helpful for me.

jamie - the first photo of the leaves is absolutely GORGEOUS. i’m in love with it!!

Lisa - Amen! So thankful for His Word. I would be a mess without it. Heck I am a mess WITH it!! LOL. Hope you’re enjoyed your weekend away. Sounds truly wonderful. I think I will get to planning one of those…

Heather G. - Haha – that dog is amazing! The hubby and I got away for our anniversary for 2.5 days. It was amazing!

Gretchen - AMEN! I totally agree! Thanks for taking the brave road and speaking of your love for Him. Have always loved your blog.. now love it double!
The way your friends and you hint around that you’d be willing to NOT run b/c of the weather cracks me up! My exercise buddy and I do the same thing! Hilarious!
Have fun with your man. Weekends away are so important. Hugs!

emily hope - Love your leaf pictures. Such a cozy, beautiful time of year, isn’t it?
And I am giving you a huge AMEN on the incredible awesomeness of the Bible. I was just thinking the other day what it would be like if we didn’t have God’s Word written down in black and white. What a confusing mess we would be in!
Have fun on your getaway 🙂

Leslie Davison - Amen! Which version of rhe Bible do you study from?

Heather R. - Amen! I hope you have a great time with your hubby. Dog video=Amazing.

Cindy - Funny, we have a tree that does the exact.same.thing. And it’s always right after my husband rakes the rest of the yard. The next day, they all have dropped their yellowish-green leaves. Cool to me. Annoying to him. Second thing, about the Bible. It is amazing how God does this with his Word. Thanks for sharing those verses. I will go dig into it today. Seems like a good thing to do. Enjoy every second of the trip away.

Jen Brandt - AMEN!
Good for you for running! You go, girl!
Love the leaf pics.
Good for you for getting away with your hubby! Happy couple = stronger family.
My hubby and I got away the first weekend in October to a secluded cabin in a state park. It was WONDERFUL! My husband said, can we do this for a week next time?
Meg, I am very frustrated with my small, inexpensive camera and want one that will take decent pics. I take pictures of my family – playing outside, crafting inside, dance class pics, soccer pics, etc. What kind of camera would you recommend ($400 limit)?

Jody - We are in bad need of a getaway…been FOREVER!!! (we have a 6 year old son & 4 year old triplet boys)…I won’t even admit how long it’s been – it’s too embarrassing… our marriage needs it!!!! Thanks for the reminder to do something about it.
On a side note – just read “Heaven is for Real” last night – have you read it?! Written from a 4 year old’s experience of heaven – amazing!!!

Ani G W - We had our last real getaway in June to celebrate our anniversary. Before that though it had been three years! It was time and I made a pact with hubby that we wouldn’t wait 3 years before the next one. We try and have a date once a month, but sometimes it only gets done once every couple of months!

tiffany gardner - nope…no get-a-ways for us…its been years. not much help in the department of anyone wanting to watch our kids. our get-a-ways consist of watching movies when kids go to sleep…if we can stay awake! 🙂 happy for you though….count your blessing of wonderful grandparents who help.

Kat - My last get away with my hubby was bc (before children) and so that would be over nine years ago now.
We have 4 children aged 3, 5, 7 and 9.
We are lucky to get out for a date together maybe twice a year if that!!
Enjoy your break away and btw I looove those leaves!

shauna - love the yellow leaves.
love the Bible.
love babies.
hate running.
no idea what to make.
a banner?
hmmmm
guess what?
i don’t watch tv really.
but i just started watching parenthood.
reedo and i watch one or two very night (apple tv)
we are like half through the second season!
i want to come over to your house and get all bundled up with your space heater, watch the leaves fall and watch a freshy episode while not running.

Juli - AMEN!

beth - Amen!! It was crazy windy here, too, but fairly warm. Glad you got your run in!

Maggie Nunez - Your comment about waffle made me laugh..the one about him being lazy, poor waffle. I need to plan a weekend with my hubby, its been too long, can’t even remember when was the last time we had date night :(.

karla @ bluegrass jewelrydesigns - Ummm…..I can’t even remember the last time my husband and I got away by ourselves. Sad, isn’t it. : ) Have fun this weekend!

heyruthie - the first part of your post reminded me of George McDonald’s “At the Back of the North Wind.” a great read.

Valerie@Chateaualamode.typepad.com - AMEN sister! I’m also giving you an AMEN for a weekend away…I’m planning that tonight. We don’t make that a priority often enough, so thank you and enjoy your time away to play 🙂

April M - amen 🙂
LIVING WORD!
(and I’m so glad I’m not the only one who takes pictures of leaves)

Susan - Amen! I am in BSF also and am loving the study of Acts. I have been a Christian for many years, but am seeing now more than ever how it all fits together. My love of Jesus is growing daily! BTW-Your post last year about BSF spurred me to actually sign up this year. I love how God uses others-some who don’t even know us-to bless us! Enjoy your time with your husband. It is time well spent! Our nest is empty now and I think our time away when our kids were home is one of the reasons we have such a great time together now.

Kelly - Amen!
and we don’t have a whole get away planned but we do get to drive 45 minutes alone to Denver and have dinner with a gift certificate tomorrow and we are really looking forward to that!! Kelly

Short, Sweet Season - Amen! I’m in BSF too, and the study of Acts has been amazing. I’m so glad you mentioned BSF on here previously…when my friend asked me to join her this semester, I was afraid it would be too formal, but I felt like I already knew someone who loved it (you!). Thanks for that!

Melissa - Even if it’s for only one night or just dinner out I feel like our relationship is renewed. Spending this coming Monday with my honey and looking forward to lunch together. That never happens! Have a great time and enjoy!

Seriously Sassy Mama - How I love 3: 12-19 in your photo. AMEN! My husband and I got away for a weekend June 2010. It was for a wedding. It will be a long time before we get away again. Sad but true.

gina f. - AMEN! Have a fun weekend! Beautiful leaves photos!

stacie - Amen!!!
Have such fun going away with Mr. D.
TGIF 🙂

TinaM. - It’s been three years since our last weekend getaway with no children. Although we do try to sneak in a date night more regular than that.
Have a great time!

Susan - Amen! Our last get away as April 2010 but before that it was August 2003. That must be a fruitless Mulberry…ours lost all it’s leaves in one afternoon several years ago. The temps dropped suddenly one fall and they all fell off and they were still green.

Logan - Have a great weekend with your husband! My nest is empty so I have mine a lot more often than those of you that still have kids at home, but getting away is still fun and romantic and important for us!

Jane - AMEN!!

CarrieBeth - i wish we lived close to you. i’d bring my baby right over and let you take pictures of him in those yellow leaves!

Denissa - AMEN! My hubbie and I have never had a getaway since we’ve had our boys. My oldest is 10! We need one and we’re planning one now, thinking it’ll be our Christmas gift to each other 🙂

Terrie G - AMEN!!!
SUPER windy doesn’t begin to describe today…
Love the leaf pics…that is one thing I haven’t done is take leaf pics.
And unfortunately it’s too cold and windy to take the new grandbaby out in it…maybe I should bring some leaves indoors…hmmmm
Have a GREAT time this weekend…we need to do that soon too!

Kati - I’m in BSF too and I’ve noticed many friends (some I didn’t even know were in BSF) posting on Facebook this week different verses from Hebrews. So fun!!! 🙂

Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog - what version is your Bible? HCSB? NIV? Inquiring minds want to know. or at least my one inquiring mind wants to know. :o)
Yay for a get-away!!!
It’s been too long for me and the hubs…

Kirsten J - Seriously? August 2004. Sad but true. I love when things happen, like seeing the Bible with new eyes. Excellent happy doodles!!

happygirl - Have a wonderful weekend. My dog is lazy, too. I think his job is sleeping. You are so inspiring. Running in the wind or like the wind or away from the wind. Inspiring. 🙂

Amy - AMEN, sister!!! Preach it!!! 😉
Is it sad that my man & I have never NEVER in almost 8 years of parenting gone anywhere just the 2 of us? We have never left our kids. He goes places all the time. Craft Weekend was the first time I left all 3 of my kids. {& it was sooooo worth it}
Is that weird?!?!?! We keep planning trips…but they never happen. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Tanya H - I’ve had two husband-dates in a month, after going for at least 6m stretches, it IS so great!!!
I love your leaves! I swept my back porch yesterday and after our wind last night I sure don’t know why I bothered…! LOL!
and, AMEN. The Lord leads us to what we need to read.

shannon - Amen! I agree…I love the bible…I love my Jesus and I love when it He just speaks to me. Often at times when i think what the heck…..
Mr. Stout and I got away this past March….he mentioned a weekend away sometime again and I am all for it! Have no idea when that can be….probably around valentines day when the mil can come keep kids….:)

Lia - Haha you should have taken waffle out for pictures. I kind of love waffle posts. We are getting a goldendoodle in 2012 and I couldn’t be more excited. Have fun with your hubby!! Mine got home last night and isn’t traveling again for 7 weeks!!

Southern Gal - Amen.

robin - AMEN!! I’m fairly new in Christ, so it’s no surprise to me that it’s amazing every time I dive in, but I am filled with joy to know it will continue on like that all of my days. :):):) He is so good.
Enjoy your weekend!

Kimberly - AMEN! It’s living, breathing, and always surprising me with new insights. Love the image of snowing yellow. Not yellow snow though because that makes me think of something gross…
Happy Friday!

lisa willis - AMEN!
I’m in bsf too, and the words in Hebrews have been speaking loudly to me, comforting me, and showing me that Jesus is alive and at work TODAY!
I love bible study, I love Jesus!
…and I get to go out of town with my hubby in a couple weeks! So excited!

IMG_2098-1

it feels good.
a great PACKED photo season that i am proud of.
very proud….i felt confirmed in this gift from God gave me so many times this year.
He wants me to use my gifts for HIM.

it's an honor.

——————————————————-

are you joining the Happy Day project??

Happydayrainbowsquare

i definitely am.

i don't know what it will be but i am totally on board with anything jeannett and julie pull together.
they have amazingly big hearts.

and… it has rainbow colors… it's a no brainer.

it IS fun to use your blog for good.
i am really excited about it.

🙂

——————————————————-

shauna shared this on her blog last week-ish.
it has stuck with me.
i love it.
i want a grateful heart.
i do.
sometimes i don't have one…..

it's a work in progress right?

——————————————————-

i want to make THIS for dinner.
530_IMG_7602_lasagna-soup
doesn't it look amazing??

i googled Lasagna Soup and this was one of the links.
yum.
i will let you know how it goes.

——————————————————-

come read about our sponsors on the craft weekend blog.
i love all the sponsors we had for the first craft weekend.

by the way….

the first emails have gone out inviting you to craft weekend.
so fun to hear back from some of you!

dying to get busy on the next CW!

Courtney Walsh - Really, really love that photo of the four kids!! Love. Big love. And not the polygamist kind either. 🙂

stephen6780 - Hello,
The fast and convenient online store offering your favorite British Food right here in the USA.http://www.britishfooddepot.com/

Talysa - I am participating in The Happy Day Project too! Love a good challenge. And I hate to admit it but boy is it ever for me. :-/
If you haven’t read “1000 gifts” yet it’s pretty much all kinds of fabulous. Not to mention completely life changing.
We just made Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana soup tonight. Think potatoes, broth, italian sausage, and kale. It was fabulous. I can give you the recipe if you ever want to try it.
Your photos are fabulous!

Tracy Fisher - I can’t wait to follow the “happy” crusade! And I can’t wait to hear all about “craft weekend”. Your blog made me smile today… babies, kids, crafts, recipes, and happy stuff… all good! Tracy Fisher

shauna - ps. blogger isn’t letting me reply to you on my blog so i have to tell you that i have been trying to take more pictures with my real camera.
the freckles one was with my cannon rebel.
not as “biggirlish” as yours, but still a couple steps up from the iphone 🙂
i seriously take a LOT of pics with my phone though.
why does it have to be so easy!?

shauna - come over.
right now.
i dont know how to make coffee.
but you can teach me.
or we can just drink two frappaccinos each.

Jenna@CallHerHappy - Love the Happy Day Project! Totally doing that. Thanks for spreading the word over here 🙂
Jenna

Kerry - Love that video!
I’ve signed up for the Happy Day project too… Thanks for inspiring me to get my butt in action 🙂 xx

julie - Love your gift of capturing people and moments.
Love your heart.
Love that video.

Happy weekend friend.

Beadinghippo - That soup is super yummy! (and I don’t even normally even like soup) Make sure you have the stuff for the top it really does add to it.

karen - have you seen the new saucony rainbow running shoe…hey have your name on it!!!

Tina I - Reading “1,000 Gifts” and trying to adopt an attitude of thankfulness so that I might live life more fully. WAY harder than it sounds. Glad to know you struggle with it, too. Hope the lasagna soup was as good as it looks!

Flower Patch Farmgirl - The soup lives up to the hype. That’s all I’m saying.

steph - Oh Meg….love the picture. You are using your many gifts to glorify Him. So thankful to have found your blog AND meet you in real life AND get pictures done with you. I think my son may have a bit of a crush too… 😉

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - I am learning to slow down and be thankful, even for the smallest things we take for granted. To say no even when I feel pressure to say yes. To turn down things that might even sound super fun. Because the sanity of my family depends on it.
Even before I wrote my post about this gorgeous sunrise(http://www.handbagsnpigtails.com/2011/11/just-another-sunrise.html) I read this post over at Casey’s(http://www.thewiegands.com/2011/11/tragic.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thewiegands%2FZbOa+%28The+Wiegand%27s%29).
Whether you’re thankful for a sunrise or your next breath, we should all adopt an attitude of gratitude. Not just at Thanksgiving, but all through the year!

Terrie G - Looks like I have another soup to try!!
Isn’t it awesome when we feel we are doing what we should with our gifts?!!

Jessica at Me Sew Crazy - that soup looks AMAZING! thanks for the tip!

shannon - I just made Lasagna soup for dinner last night and it was sooooo good. My kids loved it and my husband said thank you atleast 10 times!!!

sara @ it's good to be queen - wow, so cool to see our good friends…the kaufman kids on your blog! your photos are so beautiful. that soup looks a-mazing. yes, i’m trying to figure out what i’m going to do for happy day project…

Holly - that soup does look good!

happygirl - This was such a fun post. I’m going to have to do something like this sometime. Being at work and having to do work certainly cuts into my blogging time. 🙂

4FabFranklins - mmmm…Num Yummy that soup looks good!

a change of scenery

HELPS SO MUCH!

IMG_9599-2
my husband took me on a hot date last night.
it was a dinner for his office but i still got to shave my legs, wear high heels and be OUT for the night.

IMG_9590-1

IMG_9595-1

it was a wine tasting dinner.
that was a lot of wine on a wednesday night for this mama.

for real.

IMG_9584-1

it was good to get out of the house!
i needed it.
bad.

although…thanks to the wine…..i was up at 3 AM unable to sleep anymore…..i fell back asleep at 5:30.
can't win with my stupid sleep.

AND sean came into my room when i was up at 4:43 am and scared the snot out of me.
he couldn't sleep either.

probably because today is his birthday!
he is a thinker and i bet he was dreaming up what his gifts might be and then couldn't go back to sleep.

IMG_9607-3

IMG_9609-4

sean's day of birth was quite dramatic.
it was fun to tell him about again.

🙂

we barely made it into a delivery room and craig had to lie down on the delivery room floor and the nurses brought him juice while i looked down at him.
i think i said "what are you doing? i am the one that just had this baby!"
it was very fast and very overwhelming for everyone.
ha ha ha

i am so glad that sean was born.

he rocks.

airplane - Antes pensaba de otro modo, agradezco por la ayuda en esta pregunta.

Tamsen - Random comment that has nothing to do with date nights or birthdays (yay for both of them, BTW!), but I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to get crafty with my kids each week. We started a “craft thursday” ourselves about a month ago and are having a blast! My 3 younger kids (age 6, 10, and 12) and I have been going crazy with paint, glue and glitter. Last night my son said, “YES!! tomorrow is craft day!!) and his younger sister started dancing around the house saying, “this is better than kindergarten!” And then, my 17-year-old daughter chimed in and said, “I think I want to do crafts tomorrow with you guys, too.” Say what??? So tonight, I will sit at the table with all 4 of my kids and create. Pure. Heaven.

DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY.

COMPLETE DOUBLE RAINBOW IN MY YARD!!!

margo - my husband and I are crying laughing – yeah, we hadn’t seen the vid before!
I love the tee and hoodie too – very cute!

Alison Vaclav - I love rainbows. I think they are very important and here are my thoughts on why: https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=114898988557160

Kris - That guy just made my day. I love that he is so overwhelmed. Really shouldn’t we all get that excited about a double rainbow? I always make the kids come look when I find one! BTW your daughters double rainbow is too much too!!

Perrin - Oh, love the tee shirt and sweatshirt. So very adorable. My girls would love that.

kristine - can we have annie’s handmedowns?! 🙂

Michelle from Australia - I love Annie’s double rainbow outfit. Girls size 8 or 10 would work for our family just in case you are thinking of listing any in your etsy shop. Hint hint hint!!!! 🙂

Karen - Genesis 9:13
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
This guy needs to study the Bible along with you (and I). Then he’d KNOW what it means! 🙂

Pam @ Keeping Life Creative - I LOVE her shirt and jacket! Might need to dig out some fabric scraps…but I’ll probably just drool over yours!

karen - oh meg.
but have you seen this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX0D4oZwCsA
you should watch their other songs too…hilario.
(and i totally will ignore the fact that posted to the world that i watch these videos and think they’re…well…hilario…take the plank out of your own eye people!)

Su@The Intentional Home - well all I could think of when watching the video clip (and I have not seen it before) was I wish I had that reaction when God showed His glory. . showed His power. . showed His beauty. And I wish that was what this guy was responding to was God. . but I too thought he must be on something. . but wouldn’t it be great if he wasn’t on something. . if that was just his reaction to God’s splendor. . and God was talking to him. . .and showing up for him. . .I am rambling. . thanks for sharing

lauren - a full on double rainbow all the way!!!! goal for my next rainbow siting: to get half as excited as that guy and make my family pretend to not know me. saweeet. 🙂

emily - Where have I been? Never seen it … but I’m dying!!

Katy - i love that video. my husband and i quote it all the time. 🙂

Crystal - I hope you’re making plenty of those shirts & hoodies for your shop….in a size 24 months or 2T, hint hint!!!!

Juli - I laughed SO hard with that video. Then the comment above where she responds, “It’s a double from God…you know the one you keep screaming too”…made me laugh so hard my water come out of my nose!

Kelly (kelly is inspired) - Her Rainbow shirts are way too cute!!!

Jenna - LOVE the outfit, the “real life” double rainbow, and the dude … I didn’t exactly laugh, cry, and laugh again, but my throat is now raw from all the shock and laughing I experienced watching the video! I must share it with my family: instant hit!

sara @ it's good to be queen - i had never seen that video…it kinda creeped me out! why is he crying?!

Courtney Walsh - We are HUGE Gregory Brothers fans over here. Their “Poke Me” song makes me giggle uncontrollably. Seriously. But they’re legit musicians!! Sarah Gregory has a band called Sarah and the Stanleys and they are AMAZING!!! I LOVE them!!! 🙂
And the Backin’ Up song. omg. I have to go watch it again. lol

amy - That video is hilarious 🙂 I need a double rainbow for my little bebe girl! Gonna be stalking your store!!! Great job the sweatshirt and tee make me want it in my size 🙂

Molly - We quote that video ALL THE TIME in our house. DOUBLE CHEESE SANDWICH!!! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?!

Melinda Owens - Such cynics…maybe he’s just overwhelmed with the beauty…it happens. 🙂 Spontaneous worship. Thanks for sharing this. I loved it!

My blog post today features a quick and easy rainbow treat, http://maplememoriescrafthouse.blogspot.com/2011/03/gold-at-end-of-rainbow-treats.html. Thought I’d share since rainbows are so dear to your heart!

Anne @ Baking Me - Hilarious, thanks for the laugh 🙂

Sheila P. - What does it say about me that I can see the same double rainbow as that guy and not feel anything but embarrassed for him and slightly annoyed at the same time? Maybe I need a second cup of coffee or a little of what he’s been having.

Maria - I had never seen the video – I love that double rainbow!

Linda Sousa - Oh my…that is too much! I had never seen the video until now.

deborah@applesinwonderland - annie is too cute with her wrinkled up nose, peace sign and double rainbow. that guy is loving life. can’t fault a guy for that. how do you not laugh until you cry? i do all the time. but, then again i laugh until i….nevermind.

Cari - We live in LR, AR, but all of our extended family lives in Northeast OK. My girls and i were driving home after a weekend visit and I was listening to a song called “Faithful”. As we were driving down I-40 there was a beautiful double rainbow (though only a partial) and I kind of had the same reaction as the guy on the video (though not near as intense. Ha!). I got excited and showed the girls, did an ultimate no-no and snapped a pic while driving, and then I began to cry. It wasn’t a coincidence that I was listening to a song about God’s faithfulness & then He revealed a physical reminder that, no matter what, He is Faithful. Faithful and True. Happy Friday, indeed!

ashley jensen - Seen the video before…the dude is WHACKED OUT on something! Stop teasing us with the dang hoodies!!! Why don’t you give us a round about hint when your shop will open….PLEASE!

Tiffany - she is too cute! i want that smile. that energy. that hoodie. have a great weekend.

Beth - Ok, I guess I’m the only one to have not ever seen that before…..oh. my…..well, that was something. hahaha! What is with that? Too funny, thanks for sharing.
enjoy your Friday!
Beth

candace - did you see that guy’s Tosh.O web redemption?
love the hoodie/shirt combo. how do you come up with such cute things and such cute kids?

Heather - Did you make Annie’s sweatshirt and t-shirt? I want those for my girl! Adorable!

happygirl - Hahahahaha. I hadn’t seen this video. Thanks for sharing. btw, I LOVE the double rainbow in YOUR yard. <3

Andrea - This guy was TOTALLY tripping! But, anyway, I used to see rainbows and double rainbows on the bus on the way to school all the time. We got on the bus at 7:20 am. That was a LONG, LONG time ago! I always thought, and think, of them as God blessing my day.

wendy, NJ - I have to say that honestly I’m not sure that I want to see the video. When my grandfather passed in 1989 (he was my best buddy when my parents divorced) it poured the day of his services, a huge rainbow appeard. Then in 1997 when my other grandfather passed it rained all day until we came out of the luncheon to find a double rainbow. I recently lost my grandmother in 2009. we left for vacation the day after her services and when we arrived at our destination after driving most of the way in pouring rain there was a beautiful double rainbow. so you see, rainbows represents something very special to me. Although as I write this I realize that it would be unfair of me to not look at the video..after all, I love everything you post…BTW the sweatshirt ROCKS!!

Regina - I hadn’t seen it either…and had to turn the sound off to make my dogs stop barking, lol! I would like to think that guy was high on God’s glory, but something tells me it was something else alltogether… 😉

Sarah@this farm family's life - I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who hadn’t seen this video yet. That guy is kind of scary!
http://www.thisfarmfamilyslife.blogspot.com

Ruth - Well, I really am in favor of appreciating the handiwork of God, but it sounds like this guy is on a “trip”. Love the double rainbow in your yard though.

tami - evidence of psalm 19: The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
soooooo awesome….

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - Bwahahahahahahahaha…I guess Im THE only ONE who hadnt seen the video…til now. All I can say is WOW…this guy needs to get out more or something. He was starting to scare me a little:)And “what does it mean” dude? Its a double promise from God…you know, the one you keep screaming to.

Tara M. - Umm, wow! I had never seen that video until now! I love the rainbow outfit!! Can’t wait for your shop to open!

Kerry - haha! Cute!! Double Rainbow all the WAY! (I am now no longer the one person in the world who had not seen the vid)
Thanks Meg for putting a huge cheesy grin on my face on this cold grey day in the UK 🙂
