🙂
she’s a smart one!
IMG_2873
sneaking over to the Craft House in my pajamas to take a bath last week.
i put my phone out of reach so i could just focus on my book.
have you read this?
Restless: Because You Were Made for More
I am like… crazy for it.
i am thinking you would love it because it seems MOST of us are searching for MORE out of life?
maybe?
try it and see… i think it’s really good.

a big day calls for the power leggings.
it’s possible that they have super hero qualities…
(they are made by Under Armour.  i stalked them all winter and when they went on clearance i snagged them with a coupon on top! BOOM.)

IMG_2916
i went in for a covered button kit….
i came out with all these.

it’s a very fun tradition!
i ordered the yogurt with strawberries and a coffee.

and so were we!
IMG_3060IMG_3063
we stopped at the farm store for a water dish and left with 8 new baby chicks!
and annie reeeeeally wanted a duck.

IMG_3130IMG_3141IMG_3140
snack dinner!
i heard “YAY!!! I LOVE snack dinner!” when i called the kids in.
which made me so happy!

IMG_3149
this is a block from my house… a calf was just out on the road.
as i was considering how to help it, i spooked it and it took off back to the farm.

IMG_3155
for our last night with my nieces we had a late night slumber party at the Craft House.
the little girls were shocked when i agreed to a SECOND movie at 10:30 pm!
i said “well this IS a slumber party!”
i painted while they watched.
🙂

IMG_3171
they played SORRY while i made gluten free pumpkin muffins.
to which we all agreed that they were a fail… they tasted like eating a plain sweet potato.
not what we wanted from our pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.
bummer.
at least we had other things to eat!

then we drove them home after our 5 days together…. such a great visit!

i am hoping to work on the paint project tomorrow and all weekend.
Hope Spoken is in a week… not freaking out but yet… totally freaking out.
i am excited about everything!
just nervous about my speaking – and i do not even know what i am going to say yet!
soon… soon… soon.   i can feel it coming together and swirling around in my head.
(thank you jesus!)
but just know that i will cry… if i stood up and gave the weather report i would STILL cry.
it’s just what i do.
i cry.

lastly… there is still ONE apron left in the shop.
i love her so much.
i can’t believe she’s left all  by herself… she’s the life of the party for sure.
beverly
maybe she appears too wild in photos?
she is royal blue, spring green and a beautiful bright pink… seriously such a great combo!
the turquoise and the lime green in the floral pattern are perfection!

have a super weekend!
i am DYING to finish my paint project to show the world because you are going to freak!!
it’s completely dreamy and rad.
🙂

must go to sleep now… it’s 12:53…yikes!

Flower Patch Farmgirl - Best way to start my day, right here. That bball shot of Talby (?) is so awesome! And I’m going to do snack dinner soon.

Andrea - Meg…I just love seeing peeks into your colorful world…..and your dogs just crack me up! Happy Spring!

Heather - Random thoughts that I can’t post on Facebook because I’m taking a break;

you prompted me to buy tulips yesterday, on the first day of spring

I read 7 last week while on holiday in Cuba and now I’m off FB and a moms board that I’ve been on for 12 years that consistently annoys me. LOL I am now reading A million miles in a thousand years, which you had recommended to me.

s - Totally random but what kind of curling wand is that and does it work as well as it looks like it does???!!

sharon / theprincipledtype.blogspot.com - i believe tulips go with Everything! (that’s my story and I’m sticking with it:))

Amy Woods - Lovely. All.

Stephanie - I LOVE that apron. It was that one, the Ruby, and a couple others that I picked out as my favorites. So if she looks too wild, I guess that’s my taste! Lol.

Kerry - Have you read “Anything” By Jennie Allen? I have it on hold at the library now.

Lynette L. - I love posts like this! You take the best pictures! Your dogs pose so well – mine is always moving so she is just a blur in the pictures I take.

Katherine @ Grass Stains - Meg, when I saw this idea, I knew I had to send it to you. It is SO YOU! I can see you doing this with your girls. 🙂

beth larson - so….did Annie get the duck? So adorbs- and I can’t wait to see your painting project- this was a great post!! xo

ira lee - looks like a ton of fun and if you could just call me before the next week like this, that’d be great!! lol

all good stuff.

IMG_1312fabric stacks are everywhere at the Craft House.
big projects are underway.
i am overwhelmed and excited at the same time.
i will tell you about very soon!
IMG_1316this is pretty much the happiest photo i have ever taken.
ha ha ha
i snapped this picture of fabrics at Joann’s… rainbows are everywhere!
IMG_9450IMG_0631yesterday i found this afghan at one of our local antique stores.  🙂
the pink and lime green lured me in!IMG_0633this was the quilt i got at bearly makin’ it a few weeks ago.
it is one quilt square short on one entire side so it’s too small for a twin bed.
but the turquoise?!! oh my word.
IMG_0634i found this one a month or so ago at the thrift shop.
yep… $2.00!
it is a lap blanket… my favorite part is the use of taupe with the black.
rainbowi have been asked a million times to to show the full rainbow afghan that my friend Amy sent me.
it is the coolest blanket!
she found it at a garage sale for $1.00.
ONE DOLLAR!!!
insanity.
can you imagine the time it took someone to make this?! with the little pom poms?
it is beyond awesome.

IMG_0019annie asked me last night at bedtime… all tucked in and sleepy…

“do you think mom that sometime you can call the school and tell them i am sick and then we go to the craft house and make crafts all day?  and i could make you lots of coffee there.”
i said “wow that sounds like a really fun day! i do love when you make me coffee!”
she smiled with her sleepy face and said “i’m really good at making coffee.”

IMG_0397last week talby and i had a girls day after a dentist appointment.
i looked over at her and saw a young LADY instead of my little girl.
she is a breath of fresh air.
always smiling and kind to everyone… a peace keeper.

IMG_0619i made myself a chart.  🙂
1. a good excuse to use markers (NEW markers are the best!!)
2. i am no different than my 9 year old… needing a visible happy chart to keep me going.
3. i am two days in.  i am sore.  i did NOT want to go to bed last night but i did at exactly 11:16.
4. you can still join me even though you may not get 32 in 44 days.  You can make up your own goal for the end of the year and still use the hash tag #32in44 in Instagram so we can be a team together!  even if it’s the only one you do… ANY workout is better than no workout!

IMG_0137and lastly for this wednesday post…

MY SHOP!
there are lots of pillows in the shop right now but that is all there will be for quite awhile.
like… for months.
so now is the time to grab them because they will be gone.

🙂

pillow2pillow1AND i have a million or so vintage maps!
there is every state… most countries and a few really beautiful continent maps.
i have a soft map for a pretty map.
mapsAND i have a discount code right now… HOLIDAY10.

10% off your entire order.
🙂

ok…. it is now time for the 3rd of 32 workouts.
and LOUD music!

BLOGstripRNBW1000

tammy - i, too, love your rainbow blanket! what a jewel for only $1! i happened across the pattern for the blanket and thought i would share it with you.

Steffi - Your comment is awaiting Moderation – what does this meaning?

have I said something wrong? I’m really sorry 🙁 My englisch is not so goodn 🙁

Steffi

jodie - i just read Julies comment -mowing lawns??!!!! – you are lucky lucky julie – i want to move to that part of the world!!!!how bout’ shoveling snow meg? counts?
ps – your girls are pretty awesome

Steffi - Dear Meg,

i´m from Germany and i read your blog for two years now and it is an everyday enrichment for me! I love to read about you and your Family!

Since a long time I already search a certain material of amy butler. It is the Number 9 of your pillow cases. The one with flowers in turquoise/pink and the pink/White Chevron on the back.
Can you tell me the Name of the fabric, please!
This would be really nice.

Many greets from Germany
Steffi

Tanya - I love Annie.

meg duerksen - it is three different sets of key hooks from target that are screwed into the wall next to each other. 🙂

diane - Hi…Love your blog. On the picture above with Annie, there’s jewelry hanging up….what is it hanging on? I’ve made something simular but can’t find a sturdy enough backing for my corkboard. Any recommendations?

Tracey - The turq quilt might be too small for a bed but that makes it perfect for your sofa! And a nap!!!I have a stack of quilts, on an old school desk, in our family room for sofa naps—love them!!! I’ve done my 3 workouts this week. I prefer 1st thing in the morning (before I get sidetracked) but I persevered and got in done at 2:00, finished just in time to go and pick up kids from schools.

Amy K. - NOOOOO!!!! It looks like I am too late for that awesome U.P. map. One of my people would have LOVED it as her Christmas gift. =(

Julie - What a wonderful colourful post. I would love to visit your antique stores for the fabulous finds you get. Does mowing the lawns count as a workout – if so I have done 2/44 this week.

mary - Hi Meg! I am trying to order some of those gorgeous shams but my shopping cart keeps emptying!!! Please help! thanks!!!

Kimberlee Jost - Such good stuff.
🙂

Linda - Always love your posts! Thanks you for the rainbows!!

Heidi Jo the Artist - Oh my, Annie… That quote almost breaks my heart, and brings tears to my eyes, because I’m afraid you said no. Take that day with Annie; you won’t regret it one bit! And the things she can learn from you, her mother=priceless. And the things you can learn from her too=priceless. My nephew died suddenly years ago, and that changed me forever. Our days ARE numbered. I wish that everyone could have the best relationship with their child/children. I believe school gets in the way of that. Family isn’t put first, unfortunately. People (especially the gov’t) think learning is more important than relationships, and that learning won’t happen as well, at home. Parents don’t trust themselves, because they were taught to not trust themselves growing up. In fact, I believe, learning happens even better when it is from someone we love, trust, and look up to. You know I could go on and on, and this is just my two cents, as you know! Anyhow, I finally ordered something sewn from your shop today! Truth be told, I was a little bit disappointed that I didn’t get one of those cool rainbow sweatshirts for my daughter awhile back (we are rainbow fans here too!) they sold out fast, and I was online right when your shop opened!?! Oh heck, I wish they had come in my size!! But I’m sure my daughter will love a squirrel pillow case, just as much! We have a few “pet” squirrels in our backyard that she has named. 😉 And $1 for that rainbow blanket, that is cRaZY good!

Amy - Megan, it makes my heart so happy to know that you love your rainbow blanket. As soon as I saw it, I thought of you. And that’s a very good thing, thoughts of you.

Kari - I LOVE all of the color!! Where did you get the colorful Ikat fabric from?!? 🙂

She made them pillowcases for each holiday…Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, etc. They LOVE them and love switching them for each holiday. Your pillowcases in your shop reminded me of them and thought maybe your buyers would be interested in them if you made them 🙂

Heather - Oh man, just recd your post, and some of the goodies are already gone 🙁 Didn’t even know you had a shop. How do I find out sooner that you have new stock? I hope you will make more rainbow sweatshirts!! 🙂

Rachel - Thanks for adding the rainbow hoodies. Finally got off my butt and ordered one for my daughter. No if only the weather would cool down enough for her to wear it. 🙂

Tammi O - So excited, I just ordered the Globe wrap!! What company do you use for your canvas wraps?
Thanks!

Jenny B. - Oh, Meg… these are all so pretty and happy! You are one talented lady. I wish I had a big white wall and a big wad of money. I would just buy them all and fill it up! 🙂 I am really wanting the 5 cent gumballs one for my laundry room… maybe someday!

Jamie - Sorry this has nothing to do with this post, but I thought I should make sure you know about this…..1/2 priced shakes at Sonic all day on June 20th (at participating locations). Maybe you already knew, but it would be a shame if you didn’t. Where we lived in PA a sonic had it’s grand opening on my birthday in 2011! 🙂 …and then we moved away October of that year. 🙁 We don’t have a Sonic near us now. 🙁 https://www.facebook.com/events/172950699501616/
