Linda-Hello, I found your blog today in Country Living Magazine. You talk about going to Bearly Makin-it Antiques in Marion Kansas! I grew up in Wichita and spent many hours in Marion with my grandparents who had a farm in Marion. I have always loved that little town. I was born in Hillsboro and now live in Arizona. It was cool to see the Newton post office. I’m looking forward to following your blog. I wouldn’t be surprised if something from my grandparents shows up in the antique store some time!!
Chi Anne -This misplaced Kansas girl loves the photos you post that remind her of home. Germany is beautiful, but I love Kansas more! Thank you for posting all the things that make my heart happy– Sonic, Walmart, sunshine 🙂
Laura Phelps-I have those Ikea curtains! (I use them as a table cloth now)
and…we made lasagna last night too.
weird.
🙂
Melissa -Ahh, Newton, I have a college girlfriend in Buhler! I love “visiting with you”. Happy Thursday!
April M -White Chicken Chili = yum and super easy
but no tater tots so we swung by Sonic on the way home from dance class (also = yum!)
THANK YOU
Your pictures and perspective are a blessing
(Thanking God for you too!)
Shellie Hanley -Meg, I feel like we’re friends and I love seeing what you’re up to. Can’t miss a day of Whatever!! 🙂
Heather Mattos-I was on the very same Heather Bailey page today. Pop Garden is the best ever! LOOOOOOVE your family photos 🙂 I can’t believe how big everyone looks. So cute.
Shivaun -This post is so lovely!! Thanks! And, FYI, I found some large multi-colored striped coffee mugs at a garage sale for a buck each and I snatched them up, inspired by you! They are my favorite morning coffee mugs now… a happy start to each day. You are a sweetheart!
Alicia @ La Famille-meg, i just love ya. you are so fun. so regular. but so inspiring. don’t ask me what’s so inspiring about going to walmart, but you just are. i smile when i’m here. thanks.
Jen Brandt -Love your pictures, Meg! Totally have not been following our planned menu this week – had Subway for dinner last night. Tonight will be ham and broccoli casserole though, and chicken stir fry tomorrow night. Have a great day!!!!! Oh! I think I forgot to tell you that I made your Spinach Artichoke Party Dip for a party Saturday night – huge hit! Thank you.
Shauna -This is my favorite kind of Meg-post…beautiful colorful pictures, little tidbits about your day, and even a recipe..thanks!
Sarah-FOUR miles! You are good. LOVE those fabric sites-I can’t even sew and I love them!
karen gerstenberger-I love your Africa art with the “The King…” quote – one of my favorite quotes. Your family is so beautiful. Isn’t it a blessing to gather with extended family and share a meal? God is so good.
Rach-Oh nice! We do bath time with Pandora’s “Rockin Christmas” station. LOVE LOVE LOVE! And you admitting that it is 23 degrees there means that I am officially going to live vicariously through your winter starting today. Lots of snow pictures when it comes please.
jennibell-Love posts like this! You live a blessed life. . .and you have these posts to prove it to yourself on the “blah” days 🙂

Stacey Hunter-I love your blog! You always have great photos and crafty ideas 🙂
I also love that you are from the mid-west, as I too can appreciate a good sloppy joe and some tator-tots! (I grew up in Illinois)
jacqui anderson-2nd craft weekend is ful …… totally NOT AWESOME cause my name isn’t on the list!!!!! LOL 🙂
Kimberlee Jost-Panda Kitchen—it’s his birthday.
Give the man what he wants.
And I don’t have to cook!!!!!!!
Kimberly-What a lovely day! And if I could handle a 4 mile run, I’d take stinky at Walmart any time!
Kerry-Love that material! Love the simplicity of your day 🙂 awesome, thanks for sharing x
shelly-Wow-I’m super impressed that you ran when it was so cold out!!! (I was a big complainer this morning just walking to the car to go to the gym!)
Love your Africa art 🙂
as far as dinner, I should take something out…but I don’t want to …
Amber-Such a fun post!!! Love the curtains….Ikea???
Maria-another crazy Wednesday night for us…all 4 boys have overlapping activities and hubs cannot drive…so, we will squeeze in a ‘kids eat free’ night at Times Bar & Grill…
Holly-not sure what we will have since it is church night. Usually a drive thru is in order!
happygirl-Just updated my Pandora. Thanks for the tip. LOVE your art. I hope it makes a LOT of $$$ for water for Africa.
Catriona -We had Toad in the Hole which is a lot nicer than it sounds – sausages baked in a big yorkshire pudding – with carrots and broccoli. 5 out of 5 people in our house love it. And there’s not many dinners I can say THAT about! Love your family photos btw.
Vanessa -Love the zebra scissors!!! Your sloppy joes look yummy – have you ever done the recipe from the fix it and forget it cookbook? Jean and Tammy’s sloppy joes. They are so awesome – the look of yours reminded me of them! Totally a family favorite!
Georgia-We were naughty and Chips and pea fritter (for me) and steak and kidney pie from our local chippy! Nothing like a proper english chip shop! yummmm
Lori Austin -I love it when you do “a day in the life of Meg”. 🙂
Those scissors are the best!
Love the curtains.
Good for you for running in the cold. Brrr….I’m a wimp.
Tell me how you finished out the snowman craft with Annie.
What did you use for the face? Googley eyes? Nose?
Looks cute and easy. Love cotton ball crafts. 🙂
Have a great day – oh chili at our house.
lynn-oak hill designs-we are having chicken lasagna for dinner tonight! yum, yum, yum!!
Seriously Sassy Mama-My husband left for a week of hunting with the men, so our three girls and I are getting a pizza and watching a girlie movie! Oh, and decorating a cute felt tree I found at Target today. They have fun felt crafts there this year!
Heidi C -I can’t believe you have the curtains that I am DYING to put in my dining room! I love them! 🙂
Loved your family pics yesterday and loving the pictures of your day today. Gives me some motivation to get mine started. 😉
tiffany gardner-happy wednesday! wonderful family photos yesterday…they rocked! wish I could have you over for coffee…but you don’t know me and that might be weird. can’t wait until you have your second craft weekend…so I get to see the photos! end of the month…don’t know what I’ll make for dinner…tomorrow’s will be better. Now I’m rambling…as if you know me. 🙂 Happy wednesday Meg!
amy jupin-could i be the first commenter today?
maybe.
i miss you.
wanna come over for some coffee?
it is SUPER windy here today. i have some girls i go running with a couple days a week and this morning in the dark we were all texting each other hoping someone would want to bail out so we all could. "is it cold out?" "YES and windy!" "really windy!!!" "anyone want to run" "UMMMM…. i guess so"
we did it. i am so glad.
it was miserable into the wind. M I S E R A B L E but the second half was fabulous.

WATER4CHRISTMAS…. (see the post below this one)
let me be clear: where is says "make a donation" it means a hand crafted item to donate. not money. you can give money to Water4CHRISTMAS right here but that is not through the etsy shop. and you can SHOP in the etsy shop. but donating money and donating crafts are two different things.
what are you going to make?!!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
yesterday i sat on my couch in my pajamaswrapped in an afghan in front of a space heater with a stocking cap on….i get cold in this drafty house.
i worked on pictures and emails.
i looked out my window and leaves were blowing everywhere. it looked it was snowing but it was all yellow leaves.
one of our trees lost ALL of it's leaves in about an hour. i had to go capture it…. in my pajamas.
i wish i had a baby so i could set them right in those yellow leaves and take pictures of it. i should have brought waffle out! ha ha ha. he's the closest thing i have to a baby now.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
i was loving my bible study yesterday! in BSF we are studying Acts. but last week we jumped over to Hebrews for a while.
sometimes i read the bible and it's like i have never read it before in my life…. everything seems so new and clear and means so much. even though i have read those passages over and over for the past 20 years. but God makes His Word just STAND OUT and SPEAK even after all those years. after reading it maybe 100 times… suddenly it means something new to my new heart. i don't want to ever stop growing in my faith.
the bible is just so stinkin' AWESOME!
can i get an amen?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
my mom sent me this video in a chain email. and i had to share.
this just proves how lazy waffle truly is….
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
mr. duerksen and i are getting away this weekend. i am giddy about it. i get him all to myself. and we are off the clock.
Mulia-that Christ is ioncmg and He says He’s ioncmg quickly! This to me shows that we need to be prepared for His ioncmg at all times! Well what does that mean? It means that we need to be living our lives as if Christ is going to come back tomorrow. We don’t want to be living with the attitude of Oh I got time, I’ll start acting like a real Christian in college! You may or may not have time to do that, that’s why it’s so important for us to start living like Christ now! We need to be making an impact everyday not just when we feel like it, but the coolest thing is that we know that the grace of Christ is with us! It’s written right there in verse 21! We just sang a song in youth group two weeks ago called Your grace is enough. Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough, Your grave is enough for me! His grace is enough and it’s been given to us! these verses are amazing and a great reminder that we don’t know when Christ is ioncmg back but He said it was quickly, so we need to live our lives like each day is the last! & that should be living it out with a bang!
Kristin S-Amen sista!
Happened to me in Exodus and Numbers yesterday. Craziness. Awesomeness.
Anthony-Appreciate your making the effort to discuss this, I find myself strongly about this and lovmind updatie reading much more about this topic. Whenever possible, as you gain knowledge, do you mind updating your site with extra information? It’s very helpful for me.
jamie -the first photo of the leaves is absolutely GORGEOUS. i’m in love with it!!
Lisa -Amen! So thankful for His Word. I would be a mess without it. Heck I am a mess WITH it!! LOL. Hope you’re enjoyed your weekend away. Sounds truly wonderful. I think I will get to planning one of those…
Heather G.-Haha – that dog is amazing! The hubby and I got away for our anniversary for 2.5 days. It was amazing!
Gretchen-AMEN! I totally agree! Thanks for taking the brave road and speaking of your love for Him. Have always loved your blog.. now love it double!
The way your friends and you hint around that you’d be willing to NOT run b/c of the weather cracks me up! My exercise buddy and I do the same thing! Hilarious!
Have fun with your man. Weekends away are so important. Hugs!
emily hope-Love your leaf pictures. Such a cozy, beautiful time of year, isn’t it?
And I am giving you a huge AMEN on the incredible awesomeness of the Bible. I was just thinking the other day what it would be like if we didn’t have God’s Word written down in black and white. What a confusing mess we would be in!
Have fun on your getaway 🙂
Leslie Davison-Amen! Which version of rhe Bible do you study from?
Heather R. -Amen! I hope you have a great time with your hubby. Dog video=Amazing.
Cindy -Funny, we have a tree that does the exact.same.thing. And it’s always right after my husband rakes the rest of the yard. The next day, they all have dropped their yellowish-green leaves. Cool to me. Annoying to him. Second thing, about the Bible. It is amazing how God does this with his Word. Thanks for sharing those verses. I will go dig into it today. Seems like a good thing to do. Enjoy every second of the trip away.
Jen Brandt -AMEN!
Good for you for running! You go, girl!
Love the leaf pics.
Good for you for getting away with your hubby! Happy couple = stronger family.
My hubby and I got away the first weekend in October to a secluded cabin in a state park. It was WONDERFUL! My husband said, can we do this for a week next time?
Meg, I am very frustrated with my small, inexpensive camera and want one that will take decent pics. I take pictures of my family – playing outside, crafting inside, dance class pics, soccer pics, etc. What kind of camera would you recommend ($400 limit)?
Jody -We are in bad need of a getaway…been FOREVER!!! (we have a 6 year old son & 4 year old triplet boys)…I won’t even admit how long it’s been – it’s too embarrassing… our marriage needs it!!!! Thanks for the reminder to do something about it.
On a side note – just read “Heaven is for Real” last night – have you read it?! Written from a 4 year old’s experience of heaven – amazing!!!
Ani G W -We had our last real getaway in June to celebrate our anniversary. Before that though it had been three years! It was time and I made a pact with hubby that we wouldn’t wait 3 years before the next one. We try and have a date once a month, but sometimes it only gets done once every couple of months!
tiffany gardner-nope…no get-a-ways for us…its been years. not much help in the department of anyone wanting to watch our kids. our get-a-ways consist of watching movies when kids go to sleep…if we can stay awake! 🙂 happy for you though….count your blessing of wonderful grandparents who help.
Kat -My last get away with my hubby was bc (before children) and so that would be over nine years ago now.
We have 4 children aged 3, 5, 7 and 9.
We are lucky to get out for a date together maybe twice a year if that!!
Enjoy your break away and btw I looove those leaves!
shauna-love the yellow leaves.
love the Bible.
love babies.
hate running.
no idea what to make.
a banner?
hmmmm
guess what?
i don’t watch tv really.
but i just started watching parenthood.
reedo and i watch one or two very night (apple tv)
we are like half through the second season!
i want to come over to your house and get all bundled up with your space heater, watch the leaves fall and watch a freshy episode while not running.
Juli -AMEN!
beth-Amen!! It was crazy windy here, too, but fairly warm. Glad you got your run in!
Maggie Nunez-Your comment about waffle made me laugh..the one about him being lazy, poor waffle. I need to plan a weekend with my hubby, its been too long, can’t even remember when was the last time we had date night :(.
karla @ bluegrass jewelrydesigns-Ummm…..I can’t even remember the last time my husband and I got away by ourselves. Sad, isn’t it. : ) Have fun this weekend!
heyruthie -the first part of your post reminded me of George McDonald’s “At the Back of the North Wind.” a great read.
Valerie@Chateaualamode.typepad.com-AMEN sister! I’m also giving you an AMEN for a weekend away…I’m planning that tonight. We don’t make that a priority often enough, so thank you and enjoy your time away to play 🙂
April M -amen 🙂
LIVING WORD!
(and I’m so glad I’m not the only one who takes pictures of leaves)
Susan -Amen! I am in BSF also and am loving the study of Acts. I have been a Christian for many years, but am seeing now more than ever how it all fits together. My love of Jesus is growing daily! BTW-Your post last year about BSF spurred me to actually sign up this year. I love how God uses others-some who don’t even know us-to bless us! Enjoy your time with your husband. It is time well spent! Our nest is empty now and I think our time away when our kids were home is one of the reasons we have such a great time together now.
Kelly-Amen!
and we don’t have a whole get away planned but we do get to drive 45 minutes alone to Denver and have dinner with a gift certificate tomorrow and we are really looking forward to that!! Kelly
Short, Sweet Season-Amen! I’m in BSF too, and the study of Acts has been amazing. I’m so glad you mentioned BSF on here previously…when my friend asked me to join her this semester, I was afraid it would be too formal, but I felt like I already knew someone who loved it (you!). Thanks for that!
Melissa-Even if it’s for only one night or just dinner out I feel like our relationship is renewed. Spending this coming Monday with my honey and looking forward to lunch together. That never happens! Have a great time and enjoy!
Seriously Sassy Mama-How I love 3: 12-19 in your photo. AMEN! My husband and I got away for a weekend June 2010. It was for a wedding. It will be a long time before we get away again. Sad but true.
gina f. -AMEN! Have a fun weekend! Beautiful leaves photos!
stacie-Amen!!!
Have such fun going away with Mr. D.
TGIF 🙂
TinaM.-It’s been three years since our last weekend getaway with no children. Although we do try to sneak in a date night more regular than that.
Have a great time!
Susan-Amen! Our last get away as April 2010 but before that it was August 2003. That must be a fruitless Mulberry…ours lost all it’s leaves in one afternoon several years ago. The temps dropped suddenly one fall and they all fell off and they were still green.
Logan -Have a great weekend with your husband! My nest is empty so I have mine a lot more often than those of you that still have kids at home, but getting away is still fun and romantic and important for us!
Jane -AMEN!!
CarrieBeth-i wish we lived close to you. i’d bring my baby right over and let you take pictures of him in those yellow leaves!
Denissa -AMEN! My hubbie and I have never had a getaway since we’ve had our boys. My oldest is 10! We need one and we’re planning one now, thinking it’ll be our Christmas gift to each other 🙂
Terrie G-AMEN!!!
SUPER windy doesn’t begin to describe today…
Love the leaf pics…that is one thing I haven’t done is take leaf pics.
And unfortunately it’s too cold and windy to take the new grandbaby out in it…maybe I should bring some leaves indoors…hmmmm
Have a GREAT time this weekend…we need to do that soon too!
Kati-I’m in BSF too and I’ve noticed many friends (some I didn’t even know were in BSF) posting on Facebook this week different verses from Hebrews. So fun!!! 🙂
Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog-what version is your Bible? HCSB? NIV? Inquiring minds want to know. or at least my one inquiring mind wants to know. :o)
Yay for a get-away!!!
It’s been too long for me and the hubs…
Kirsten J -Seriously? August 2004. Sad but true. I love when things happen, like seeing the Bible with new eyes. Excellent happy doodles!!
happygirl-Have a wonderful weekend. My dog is lazy, too. I think his job is sleeping. You are so inspiring. Running in the wind or like the wind or away from the wind. Inspiring. 🙂
Amy-AMEN, sister!!! Preach it!!! 😉
Is it sad that my man & I have never NEVER in almost 8 years of parenting gone anywhere just the 2 of us? We have never left our kids. He goes places all the time. Craft Weekend was the first time I left all 3 of my kids. {& it was sooooo worth it}
Is that weird?!?!?! We keep planning trips…but they never happen. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Tanya H-I’ve had two husband-dates in a month, after going for at least 6m stretches, it IS so great!!!
I love your leaves! I swept my back porch yesterday and after our wind last night I sure don’t know why I bothered…! LOL!
and, AMEN. The Lord leads us to what we need to read.
shannon -Amen! I agree…I love the bible…I love my Jesus and I love when it He just speaks to me. Often at times when i think what the heck…..
Mr. Stout and I got away this past March….he mentioned a weekend away sometime again and I am all for it! Have no idea when that can be….probably around valentines day when the mil can come keep kids….:)
Lia -Haha you should have taken waffle out for pictures. I kind of love waffle posts. We are getting a goldendoodle in 2012 and I couldn’t be more excited. Have fun with your hubby!! Mine got home last night and isn’t traveling again for 7 weeks!!
robin-AMEN!! I’m fairly new in Christ, so it’s no surprise to me that it’s amazing every time I dive in, but I am filled with joy to know it will continue on like that all of my days. :):):) He is so good.
Enjoy your weekend!
Kimberly-AMEN! It’s living, breathing, and always surprising me with new insights. Love the image of snowing yellow. Not yellow snow though because that makes me think of something gross…
Happy Friday!
lisa willis -AMEN!
I’m in bsf too, and the words in Hebrews have been speaking loudly to me, comforting me, and showing me that Jesus is alive and at work TODAY!
I love bible study, I love Jesus!
…and I get to go out of town with my hubby in a couple weeks! So excited!
there were 13 cars waiting to get into the mcdonalds drive thru this morning? not even in the drive thru part yet…. who waits that long for a mcdonalds breakfast?
i counted that when i was out running. ran 4 miles straight today! WHOOP WHOOP! loving this healthy running thing so much!!!
************************************************
basketball has begun. i like it. i like it A LOT.
************************************************
i am going to take my kids to see jack & jill today. i am not looking forward to it. there are only so many bathroom jokes i can take….
but who wants to bet $20 that i still cry at that movie?!!
************************************************
i am behind (like ALWAYS!) so i don't have photos but i wanted to remind you about Operation Christmas Child.
i am going with my kids to pick out some goodies and we are going to pack our boxes this weekend.
check out the website HERE to find a drop off location near you. they are everywhere!
you only have another week or so. it's worth it!!! make it happen!
it was FUN wasn't it?! i loved it. it feels good to focus on others. to try and see what God sees when He looks at people around us. to show His love to those around us. 🙂
it's super cool.
************************************************
well….. i jumped on the erin condren bandwagon. what a happy place to be!
Nike Free Run-I think you probably live close to where I lived. My daughter played basketball every summer in Hesston. We moved from Kansas to Indiana Dec. 2009 and I miss it. I enjoy your blog! blessings
Elizabeth -Meg, I would just like to say thank you for your Christ centered blog…My family and I have been able to really reach out and have become a giving family because of all your ideas of giving. The 7 of us shopped this past weekend and packed our shoe boxes for OCC. It was such a blessing reading the letters my kids included in their boxes. Thank you for helping me raise caring children.
Kacey-I love my Erin Condren planner! It makes me so happy to look at all the rainbow colors.
Debbie-I think you probably live close to where I lived. My daughter played basketball every summer in Hesston. We moved from Kansas to Indiana Dec. 2009 and I miss it. I enjoy your blog! blessings
jimaie-It seems like everyone has an Erin Condren planner these days! I must admit, they’re awfully pretty!
I don’t think I have ever seen you & your husband’s names next to each other before- Meg & Craig, that’s kind of adorable 🙂
erin -We are doing the Operation Christmas Child for my daughters brownie troop. Such a great project! Also LOVING that planner. I’m addicted to planners and organizers.
Kate @ Songs Kate Sang-I am sooo with you on the bandwagon. I got my planner today. I am so, so, so excited! Now, i Have to use it – lol.
Ashlyn@Pinecone-I’m with you on Jack and Jill…I don’t want to see those movies, but if I do, I will cry easily as some random sweet moment. My kids will look at me – “mom are you crying??!” they can’t believe what a sap I am.
I love your planner – apparently I am the last to know about them. 😉
Lori Austin -I love your random posts – they are the best! 🙂
OCC is such a terrific organization. I wish we could afford to
participate in every worthwhile organization – not possible. We have decided to take toy/craft donations to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital each time our daughter has an appt. She has been a patient there many times and has benefited from toy/craft donations every time. I love knowing that our donations might bring a smile to a child’s face that could be facing tough medical issues. Makes my heart smile. I pray one day we will be able to donate to more than one source though. Eventually….
Kimberlee Jost-Yay for Erin Condren in your mailbox!!!!!
Now you can write all of Scott’s games down in it.
😉
amber-Thanks to you, we’ve done OCC for the past 2 years. It has become an amazing kick off to Christmas tradition for our family. And, it’s about others. My 4 year old is super into it this year & it makes me so happy. So, thank you for posting about it again & again.
Southern Gal-Four miles? Woohoo! I haven’t run in a month because of a stupid cough/cold that won’t let me go. I’m getting back out there though.
OCC is so near and dear to our hearts. We volunteer at the warehouse and my daughter gave out boxes while serving in Botswana her summer before her senior year in high school. It’s a lovely way to share God’s word with children and their families.
Melissa -How funny, we’re doing our Operation Christmas Child boxes tomorrow too! Have a great time!
Jan -So happy that you mentioned OCC shoeboxes! They are one of my favorite parts about Christmas.. I go each year to Boone, NC and help process the boxes. My brother has worked for Samaritan’s Purse for 30 years, so we have been packing shoeboxes for a long time… Would love to go overseas one year to help distribute them. So glad that you and your family support such a great cause! Thanks for the shout-out!
Michelle Gallimore-I saw a commercial where MCdonalds is giving away free coffee for the whole month of November, could be why? Anyway, I love your blog, your honesty, your real, we could be friends. congratulations on the 4 miles it’s kindof a big deal I’ve done it only twice Iam new to running but never thought in my whole life I would actually “like” it. Now, I crave it, sick isn’t it? Scales not moving but I also like to eat…I blog about food, I cook…a lot, it’s okay, my heart will be healthy 🙂 thanks for all the inspiration.
lisa-I love my Erin Condren planner, too! Happy weekend! 🙂
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-Okay, gotta say, I want to see Jack and Jill….love potty humor. Just being honest 🙂
Andrea T -jumped on the e condren bandwagon myself. i almost hugged the fed ex man. i smile everytime i look at it!!!
Jenna@CallHerHappy-We are excited for bball over here too. Right now we are watching the MSU/N. Carolina game. Go green!
Jenna

Liesl -Are you finding that running has helped you lose some weight? I think I’m similar to you in size and am hoping to see some results from the running I started this week, along with some better eating habits.
Julie L. -YES!! My Erin Condren planner came in the mail today too and I’m seriously scared to start writing in it because I love it so much.
jackie grandy-Love that calendar! I am definitely putting that on my Christmas wish list 🙂
Leah-I just got my Erin Condren planner the other day and I can’t stop staring at it. I love it and wonder where it’s been my entire life.
Kelly-McDonald’s breakfast grosses me out. I remember eating there once when I was little and it was horrible.
I have the same Erin Condren planner. I love it! That it’s so cute is a bonus! 🙂
Heather -I often think, when I see the line at McD’s “Wouldn’t it have been faster to have breakfast at home?”
Elizabeth-I just told my sons that you couldn’t pay me to see that movie. How about a million dollars? they asked. I said, well maybe then.
Have fun! 🙂
Jennifer-your run = awesome!! 🙂
I’m always amazed at the long lines for McD’s too!
Happy Friday!
tiffany gardner-wow…four miles…you go! my calendar is on its way? wonder if my life will get more organized?? have a fun weekend!
TinaM.-I’m going to McDonalds on my way to a Penn State game tomorrow. I hope people don’t judge me because I still like, actually love Penn State. Anyway.. to brighter subjects, I can’t wait to see the Muppets !!
Mindy W-Yes, I did do the Happy Day Projects and I loved it!
Yes, we are doing the shoe boxes again. And I loved that you posted your fillings because my kids said I did a lame job last year and you are way cooler than I.
No, I’m not going to see Jack and Jill because I’m betting I saw all the “funny” parts in the commercials. But you have fun. 🙂
Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog-I just got my Erin Condren Month-at-a-glance Notebook TODAY!! So much happy going on, I can barely contain myself.
Sabrina-I think McDonalds was doing something special for Veteran’s Day today??
I LOVE my erin condren planner!!! Aren’t they awesome!!!
Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails-Yes, we’re doing the Happy Day projects but since Ive had a super crazy week we’re getting caught up on them today, since we have the day off.
We’ve always done the Operation Chrismtas Child boxes but again, with going back to teaching this year, I got behind. We are sending packages to a soldier as our project. The kids collected items all week in school and we’re sending the boxes out tomorrow.
And Erin Condren…I ordered the deal on PlumDistrict but havent heard anything yet. Hoping it comes soon. Love the one you chose.
Have a lovely weekend!
Nicole -I read your blog pretty much daily and I’m fairly certain you go to the same church as I do. I never comment…just not my thing but…I noticed in your basketball pictures that your son plays for the Swathers and that he plays with my first group of students I ever taught. (It’s been over 4 years ago…those kiddos were in 4th grade then!) I’m also one of the girl’s 7th and 8th grade coaches this year! I guess I didn’t realize your kids go there! It’s a great school district!
happygirl-I can’t wait to pack our shoeboxes. Such a fun and thoughtful Christmas project. Our family is packing a box as a Christmas gift to each of us. So, each of us pack 2 boxes. It’s fun to shop and pack and play Christmas music. 🙂
Seriously Sassy Mama-Have fun at the movies. I am taking the fam when The muppets come out.
i just looked and they have a 20% off sale going on through the 11th!
the print on the dress is so pretty.
adorable. i love those laces…. and that sticthing!
her favorite is the SUPER soft sweater leggings.
she wore them for 2 days straight! even sleeping! i don't blame her.
who doesn't like new clothes that really soft and comfy?
but….. do you do a little booty dance when you get a new dress? annie does. and usually adds a little "WOOAHH!" and a leap off a piece of furniture.
🙂

yesterday i saw a mouse. I SCREAMED!!!
i don't think i am really technically "afraid " of mice but apparently when i see one…. i scream and jump. it all just came out of me. then waffle got in on the action. lauren & i chased it out from under the couch and he cornered it and caught in his paws…. put it in his mouth…. and just like a tom & jerry cartoon it came running back out!
right towards me!!!
i SCREAMED again and jumped up on the couch.
why? why do i do that? i do it with spiders too.
so crazy.
we set some traps and caught it. waffle is sad. it was the most excitement he'd had in a year. he didn't sit down for over an hour after the mouse escaped. he was sniffing under everything…hunting it down.
someone said to me today "there is always something fun going on at your house!"
ha ha ha
i don't know about the FUN but there is always SOMETHING going on.
Joey Biber-Though the leggings are somehow boyish, her blue printed blouse and pink shoelaces make the whole look more feminine and playful. Those seem to be made of soft and comfy fabric, and that can certainly help during the hot summer season.
karen -annie is super cute in her new digs!
oh and i hate to tell ya…but where there is one there are many! set more traps just in case.
Breeanna @ a brilliant melody-I saw a mouse in out kitchen last week. I was in the living room and saw it out of the corner of my eye. I followed it to the cupboard and when I opened the door, it ran directly toward me, in between my feet. How could I not scream and jump! I didn’t want it crawling on me. I have two dogs and they chased it under the oven and kept sniffing around 🙂
Mel -Your Annie has the cutest haircut ever!! She reminds me of a story book little girl, you know the kind that many amazing & quirky adventures 🙂 Her new clothes are awesome ( ah little girls clothes, the only thing I despair over , having 3 sons – the clothes , the clothes!!!)
Elizabeth -Do you have ANY IDEA how much those of us out here in
blog-follower land ADORE that dog of yours??? I am a total “Waffle follower.” LOVE LOVE LOVE THAT DOG OF YOURS.
OH, AND ALSO YOUR BLOG. ;o)
merlin -There is a trivia fact that goes something like: for every mouse you see there are 100, yes, 100 that you can’t see…
Tracy -Ha! We caught a mouse in our house yesterday, too!
Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog-we have field mice that love to set up for the winter in our garage. we also have spiders… both make me jump about 5ft in the air and scream like a little girl!
Annie’s new dress and shoes are SO CUTE!!
in my house, my dogs LOVE to capture flies. And since they go in and out, a lot! there’s always at least one fly for them to capture and (yuck) eat!
Michelle -God’s honest truth – fingers crossed – as I read this post I saw a mouse run from the fridge to the stove – bleghhhhhh!
I have spotted him twice (this being the 3rd time (hope it’s only 1 mouse)). Traps are set – he’s not falling for it. I was using sticky traps – today I reinforced with old fashioned wood snap traps (with Nutella as bait – this mouse should be a victim soon)!
I NEED to get a better camera and learn to shoot – you truly have great pictures of your kids & life. My camera is old and yucky and takes like 8 seconds to get the next shot. I never get the shot!
Thanks as always for your blog – it makes me smile 🙂
beth-Awesome picture of Waffle! I don’t mind mice–unless they’re IN MY HOUSE! we lived in an apartment that had it’s fair share and I definitely pulled the girlie card one night when I called my husband away from studying to catch a mouse. You are not alone, my friend, in your screamidge. 🙂
Lori Austin -This post made me laugh. I even read it to my hubby and he laughed at the pic of waffle. We needed a laugh – it’s been a rough week. Thanks Meg! 😉
Tanya H-I scream at mice too. Spider I more like yell at becuaes I’m annoyed that its in my house, but mice are intolerable!!! blaaaahhhh!!!!
On another note, I love Annie’s shoes, and her book too! 🙂 That’s my fav book from when I was little.
Kimberly Dial -I loved this post … I got a visual and it literally made me laugh out loud … thank you Meg! 🙂
Trisha -Screaming at the sight of a mouse is not only appropriate, I think it is just in our DNA. We had a mouse this summer and I am still traumatized. I have tried to talk my husband into letting the exterminator move in with us and buying ten cats. So far, he isn’t going for it.
Valerie @ Chateau A La Mode-That was a happy post. Made me smile! I hate mice too and I’m a screamer when I see one….yuck!
kristine cline -Ok, I just have to say that I clicked on your blog today and saw those cute pics of your daughter and immediately thought “Ramona Quimby”….I loved those books as a kids and Annie just seems to have that same spunkiness….
sorry about the mouse! yikes!
Brooke-Oh yes, I’m with you. I’d be screaming too. Probably while peeing my pants a little bit!
tiffany gardner-ewwww….I have a Major fear of mice. and I live in a 100 year old home…some sometimes…we get mice too! I would have done the same thing. (except i usually call my husband and beg him to come home. lame… i know).
amy jupin-EEEEEEKKK!
and
annie looks so cute in her new duds.
(by the way, and i can’t even make this stuff up, i promise you…
but just as i typed ‘eek’, i saw something crawling on my leg and it was a cricket!!
josh just fed our frogs and one cricket must have escaped!
talk about scream?!!?!?!
eeeeekkkkk!!)
Holly-Annie is cute! DO you think they might have sweater leggings in my size?! 😉 As for the mouse you should let that sweet kitty cat in for a bit!
marcy bradford -hi meg! love your blog! where did you get your big pom-pom fringe on your pillows? I m looking for jumbo pom pom fringe in lavendar for some pillows in my litte girl’s room 🙂 thanks!
-marcy
happygirl-I don’t like seeing a mouse scurry across the floor, either. but, when you live in the woods, you gets mice. dang it. Spiders totally freak me out. LOVE the sweater leggings. A-DOR-A-BLE. 🙂
Kerry-oh she looks adorable!! love that 2nd picture… oh im the same with the mice – yuk!!!!
Heather -I have always jumped and screamed at the sight of mice too.
Last night I saw one in the garage and I just stood there and watched it run away. It was the strangest thing. I thought to myself…I must be getting old. I don’t have the energy to be scared anymore! LOL
sue -Not happy about the trap but I guess you got to do what you have to do.!
Laura-Sooooo funny, I have a goldendoodle too, only ours is Bailey. For three days she was in the EXACT same position with her nose under the coach and crying. I kept looking and looking – nothing. Then I became convinced it was a mouse INSIDE the couch = ughhhh! Hubby was out of town so I figured I would wait for him to check it out – last night while at a meeting my 11 year old texted me – turns our Bailey had managed to shove her beloved ball INSIDE the couch and that is what she was crying for. Next time I will know to look harder!
jackie grandy-I meant to say there not their. Sorry for the grammatical error in my above post!
Laura Phelps-i want to move in with you
you live life in color
does that make sense?
i just washed dishes for over an hour (broken dish washer) and it is grey and starting to rain and i was thinking about my recent life and my blog and how i need to post something COLORFUL because i am sick of the struggle and sadness
anyway
i love you
your life is in color
🙂
jackie grandy-We all scream when their is something in our house that is unexpected, even an itsy bitsy cute little mouse. We know that it can’t really hurt us but it just unexpectedly strikes up that fear response.
We had a garden snake in our house last spring and it freaked me out. I was waking out of the laundry room and saw this bright green snake slithering on my kitchen floor. I dropped all of my laundry and screamed and screamed. I know garden snakes don’t hurt us, but I did not sleep knowing it was in my house slithering around somewhere. I sat on the dining room table with my cleaning gloves and a bag waiting for it to slither out so I could grab it. I also put towels underneath our bedroom doors so it would not get in our bedrooms. Luckily we never saw the snake again and it most likely went out as quickly as it came in. I really think I scared it away with my screams 🙂
Ashlyn@Pinecone-Man, you have got some great pictures of Annie – so cute!!
We have cats and whenever there is a spider or fly around they are after it (well…they are after it if they are not sleeping, which covers about 19 hours of every day!) I think they might even wake up for a mouse 🙂
If it happens again (god forbid) Waffle will be ready!!
Seriously Sassy Mama-I hate mice. We used to live by a field, and they were always finding their way into our house.
TinaM.-I wish I was cool enough to wear those cozy tights. I’ve always loved them ever since I was a little kid.
p.s. I scream at mice too!
Terrie G-I scream too!! Loved the pic of Waffle with his nose under the couch!
shannon-I would scream if I saw a mouse in my house too! I had one run across my toe a few weeks back but it was outside my backdoor and that was scary enough.
Love Annie’s new outfit and I LOL when I read about the bootie dance, my 4 year old always does that little dance after she puts her panties on, crazy kids 🙂
Kim-oh. my. goodness.
mylie does similar things with bugs and flies.
a mouse would be too big for her.
but she definitely would go for it.
until the mouse moved.
waffle is my dog hero of the day.
brave little guy. haha!
today is my last day of scheduled photo shoots for the year. (other than the newborn sessions…they go all year)
it feels good. a great PACKED photo season that i am proud of. very proud….i felt confirmed in this gift from God gave me so many times this year. He wants me to use my gifts for HIM.
Talysa-I am participating in The Happy Day Project too! Love a good challenge. And I hate to admit it but boy is it ever for me. :-/
If you haven’t read “1000 gifts” yet it’s pretty much all kinds of fabulous. Not to mention completely life changing.
We just made Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana soup tonight. Think potatoes, broth, italian sausage, and kale. It was fabulous. I can give you the recipe if you ever want to try it.
Your photos are fabulous!
Tracy Fisher -I can’t wait to follow the “happy” crusade! And I can’t wait to hear all about “craft weekend”. Your blog made me smile today… babies, kids, crafts, recipes, and happy stuff… all good! Tracy Fisher
shauna-ps. blogger isn’t letting me reply to you on my blog so i have to tell you that i have been trying to take more pictures with my real camera.
the freckles one was with my cannon rebel.
not as “biggirlish” as yours, but still a couple steps up from the iphone 🙂
i seriously take a LOT of pics with my phone though.
why does it have to be so easy!?
shauna-come over.
right now.
i dont know how to make coffee.
but you can teach me.
or we can just drink two frappaccinos each.
Jenna@CallHerHappy-Love the Happy Day Project! Totally doing that. Thanks for spreading the word over here 🙂

Kerry-Love that video!
I’ve signed up for the Happy Day project too… Thanks for inspiring me to get my butt in action 🙂 xx
julie-Love your gift of capturing people and moments.
Love your heart.
Love that video.
Love that recipe.
Happy weekend friend.
Beadinghippo-That soup is super yummy! (and I don’t even normally even like soup) Make sure you have the stuff for the top it really does add to it.
karen -have you seen the new saucony rainbow running shoe…hey have your name on it!!!
Tina I -Reading “1,000 Gifts” and trying to adopt an attitude of thankfulness so that I might live life more fully. WAY harder than it sounds. Glad to know you struggle with it, too. Hope the lasagna soup was as good as it looks!
steph -Oh Meg….love the picture. You are using your many gifts to glorify Him. So thankful to have found your blog AND meet you in real life AND get pictures done with you. I think my son may have a bit of a crush too… 😉
shannon-I just made Lasagna soup for dinner last night and it was sooooo good. My kids loved it and my husband said thank you atleast 10 times!!!
sara @ it's good to be queen-wow, so cool to see our good friends…the kaufman kids on your blog! your photos are so beautiful. that soup looks a-mazing. yes, i’m trying to figure out what i’m going to do for happy day project…
happygirl-This was such a fun post. I’m going to have to do something like this sometime. Being at work and having to do work certainly cuts into my blogging time. 🙂
April M -i just wanted to say that we tried the pumpkin waffles and they were yum and fun. (i used a whole cup o’ the sugar) thanks for sharing.
i was surprised to see some of the candy comments 🙁 just bc they could’ve been a little “sweeter” ’bout their ideas for using up the extra candy 😉
it’s great to make a suggestion to someone in a caring way if you think it will help, maybe that’s what they meant…
i wonder…have you ever received a gift that someone spent a lot of time or money or thought on and for whatever reason you just couldn’t use it or you already had one?
you loved the thought and the care the person put into it and you really appreciated that
so it wasn’t wasted even though you couldn’t use it like the person hoped you might.
anyway, pumpkin waffles – yum.
Shelley -I have to admit that I am very disgusted that you and soo many others throw the candy away. I agree with above comments- I spend my hard earned money on good candy and am excited to hand it out on Halloween. To know that it is just being thrown out because parents are sick of it makes me sick and mad. Yes, go to less houses, give it to a shelter, save it for later, pretty much anything but throw away. Our landfills are filled with enough garbage, we don’t need it filled with candy as well. Filled landfills will be more harmful to your children then a few pounds of candy.
So many people are giving up on handing out candy and just sit home with their lights out, and now I am understanding why. Why waste money on candy and time handing it out for people to just throw it away a few days later because the kids don’t have control to eat it slowly and the parents don’t have the sense to save it or do something useful with it.
4FabFranklins-Yep….I don’t through it away, but I do give it to the college students. Except for the really cheap candy that shouldn’t even be sold in the first place. THAT goes in the trash!
awww…love me some chunky baby cheeks!
Christine -There are also many homeless shelters and wonmens’ shelters that really appreciate offering some sweet treats to residents and guests. Even though the candy seems so unhealthy, there are some folks who would so enjoy the occasional treat!
kris -why don’t you cut down on the number of houses you visit- so they get less candy? I am a little disturbed thinking that the candy I buy to share with kids is just going to be thrown away. freeze it- put it in their stockings, use it in an advent calendar, give it to a shelter. put some away and eat it later- for rewards or something. just had to get that off my chest!
Clean-I really have to admit it’s quite a novelty to arrive at a relatively ‘different’ blog like this, great job. I expect I’ll be coming back fairly soon and I look forward to reading your next post when I do.
linda lou -the laptop cover is so cute, and the baby adorable and with left over candies they go to the office with my husband, the guys in the breakroom eat anything!!!
blessings,
lindalou
amber-Yes. I am officially grossed out by the candy. And by the price of the candy. Yuck. I love what the first commenter said about dentists in your area. Awesome. I’ll be checking. Thanks for the waffle recipe. I have an almost 2 year old, who LOVES waffles. Especially the word;). And, the baby cheeks…sigh.
Tanya H-ooo! Thanks for the recipe! I will need to make these soon! 🙂
mel-ha! i throw out the halloween candy after a few days too. well, after i go through and get out the good stuff. 🙂
can’t wait to try the pumpkin waffles–maybe this weekend!
Kim -Love the laptop snuggie! Much better than the people snuggie 🙂 That baby? Gives me some serious baby fever. I cannot have any more of my own but am thankful for a little niece arriving soon to help get my baby need filled! And halloween candy? Yes, I throw it out too after a few days. My kids get ugly about candy and that is as intolerable as the unnecessary sugar & dental concerns!
Catherine-My kids come home and sort what they won’t eat and put it in our candy for trick or treaters, that cuts down on some of it. Then I throw it out a little at a time, I can then say, “wow, how much candy have you had??” hahaha, I’m not that mean, or am I?
Alice H -I send our Halloween candy to my kids school, the teachers like to have it for little incentives. Or their dentist “pays” us per pound.
Stephanie-You have no idea how excited I was to see my name as the book winner!! Thanks so much Meg!!
Holly-I hope to get a new laptop for Christmas…then I will need a cute snuggie for sure!
Seriously Sassy Mama-I ration the candy. I need something cute to snuggle my laptop in.
Ashlyn@Pinecone-I wish I could make myself throw out the candy…but I figure I might need a pick me up here and there 🙂 xo
tiffany gardner-so funny… me too…i throw ours out after a few days. thanks for being my blog i go to everyday. you just make me happy….plain and simple. have a blessed day.
happygirl-I don’t miss having to have the candy. No trick or treaters come to my house. Driveway is too long. 🙂
Cathy-I took all the chocolate out of my kids’ bags after the church party Saturday night. I left the tootsie rolls though. I don’t think that counts as chocolate but they do. They’re 3 and 4 so I figured it was my parently duty to reserve the chocolate for people who are old enough to appreciate it. People like me!
Amanda-My friend told me last night she saves the candy to make gingerbread houses in Dec. I thought that was a good alternative to throwing it out because I’m with you… it’s just TOO much. After a few days it has to be gone!
Our dentist buys it back as well. I guess that’s a popular alternative.
Diana -We always take our candy to the fire station and give it to the firemen. They give it to children when they go out on calls.
Sarah-I heard that some dentists are collecting candy and sending it to our Troops. Just a thought. I love reading your blog!
sally -Hey Meg, I was just reading the bonus and saw your comment about throwing away all the candy. I usually do that too; however, this year I am going to save it for our ginger bread house…just a thought! I read an article that suggested using all the extra candy for your winter crafts.
Happy Halloween! Sally
Adrienne S -Our orthodontist buys it back the day after for $2lb. and then $1 for the next 4 days. It is great because it is out of my house, but awful because the kids want to hit EVERY house possible. They just keep saying: BIG BUCKS! all night long.
TinaM.-we only make about 5 stops to friends or family. we live out in the sticks and have to drive anywhere to trick-or-treat. so luckily we aren’t on to much candy overload.
Kerry-that baby has melted my heart this morning – oh the squishi-ness!
kathy-when you say “can of pumpkin” is it solid pumpkin? we dont have canned pumpkin in australia. So would chopping up pumpkin be just as good or is it pureed?
Alison-I’m not sure what they do where you live, but a lot of locak dentists here in SoCal buy the candy from the kids and send it over seas to the troops 🙂
Lizelle -Oh those sweet, sweet baby cheeks – how adorable! Must be one of my fave photographs you have taken 🙂
nicki-my daughter’s preschool collects leftover Halloween candy and uses it later to make their traditional mega-gingerbread houses at Christmastime (I’m sure the kids still sneak a few bites, even when it’s old & covered in Elmer’s glue!) 🙂
Terrie-Oh how I have missed my time with your blog…hope to catch up soon!
Love those chubby cheeks! Can’t wait to see my little grand-one tomorrow.
It’s been almost 2 days since I’ve seen him! I’m dying here!! 🙂
Mindy Harris-i am working on changing the focus of my blog and am taking an e-course. one of the exercises was to write down things you like about your favorite blogs. yours is one of my TOP 3, and it’s because of your honesty and GORGEOUS photographs. LOVE!!!! i so want to do jenny craig. maybe blogher will pick me!
leslie @ topofthepage-just got all caught up. looove the painted punkins. esp the chevron baby. too bad pumpkins are like a zillion dollars each here. becuase if they weren’t i’d get a giant porch full too. also i’m waiting for a footloose review. you were so excited. i want to know if it was naughty or nice. oh, and our rule is that the leftover candy gets thrown out on easter, and leftovers from easter get thrown out on halloween. serious rationing, ha! really, its just what we did in my house growing up. happy halloween tomorrow!
Leah-I’m the first to admit that I love Halloween and candy more than anything. But I’ll be happy when tomorrow’s over and I can put away my Halloween decor. My house is looking a little cluttered and the candy is now bordering on yuck. But I do love the pumpkins.
Rags to Stitches-I throw my Halloween candy away too! That stuff will rot your teeth. haha.
PS I’m so glad you’re loving your Snuggie!!
Heather -Sell the candy to the orthodontist! Ours donates it to charity!
Jessica R -Before you throw away the candy you should check and see if there’s a dentist in your area that will buy it from you! I know there are a few in Wichita. They buy it from you and send it over seas to the soldiers. http://www.halloweencandybuyback.com/index.html
Thanks for the new recipe. Sounds yummy!
and because of that….you know stuff will happen like your freezer will break. needing you to empty it and let it thaw. in the middle of 10 other things going on.
lame. just so lame.
i had pics last night…
TYPEPAD WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME??? these pictures are so much better than typepad is showing. BOO.
just add that to the list i guess.
i think annie has the perfect plan. just camp out in front of a bowl of cookie dough with a spoon.
at breakfast she asked me "MOM…which is more famous….MILK or CHOCOLATE MILK?"
sigh.
famous.
i love her so stinkin' much.
and then i found this on my desktop…..
this is what i feel like. exactly.
crrrrrraaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzyyyyyyy.
lauren's volleyball team is going to STATE! so we are taking all our kids to the tournaments tomorrow…leaving at sunrise….
Nicole Q.-You and me both this week – — buried !
Have a great tournament!
Kat -Feeling like this today too and the feeling of “should I have #5” just won’t go away. Crazy!? Probably!! Ah hormones!
I hope your week gets better – almost the weekend here, it’s Friday afternoon in Aus. Can’t get better than that.
Good luck Lauren and team!!
Tracy Fisher -I love that your family eats raw cookie dough. That is our family tradition. One of my cousins even had his 40th bday cake made out of raw dough. Awesome! And you know what??? Not one person in our family has ever gotten sick in 10-15 years of doing this. Great photos!
Tracy Fisher
Erin-i think i want to hang out with your family…what a circus! love it!
Kimberly Dial-Awwww, Annie …. I love the way that girl thinks! Congrats to Lauren & her obviously awesome volleyball team! (BTW, which is more famous, milk or chocolate milk? 😉 LOL
Mel -I love your posts…but I am still waiting for the PUMPKIN WAFFLE recipe!!!!!!
Heather R. -Congrats to Lauren. I’m with Annie. And Talby’s expression=priceless.
Flower Patch Farmgirl-I think if you babysat for Silas for just a few days he would somehow tip the scales back to your favor. Go on, pile on a little more chaos! It’s a great idea!
ps – That lady in your photos is Gorgeous! You captured them so very well. I can feel the love.
crystal beutler-I need some of that cookie dough — and the wig. I’m having a bad hair week. 🙂
Have fun at the tourney. So cool that they are going to State!!!!!
Lori Austin -Annie has the right idea!
Good to luck to Lauren – that is awesome!
This week – uggh! We’ll leave it at that.
Fall Break has officially started though – woohoo!
Maya-That cookie dough picture is awesome!! I love it!!
karla @ bluegrass jewelrydesigns-Sitting in front of a bowl of cookie dough with a spoon sounds like an excellent idea. Good luck to Lauren’s team. : )
Jennifer-That Annie is a DOLL! Hope your week gets better!
Georgia-Meg, Go grab the crazy Wig get a spoon and tuck into the cookie dough! and r-e-l-a-x!
Good luck to Laurens Team, and have a safe journey!
xx
Darcie L.-And, camp out in front of a bowl of cookie dough with a spoon, wearing a tie-dyed rainbow shirt and striped leggings. Even better. When can I get away with that again… when I’m 90? No one questions you then, right?
jackie grandy-Meg, I hear you loud and clear. I had one of those days yesterday where nothing went according to plan and it was chaos. I am trusting that today is a better day. I’m there with Annie and she has inspired me to make my yummy chocolate chip cookies today!
Thanks Annie 🙂
Stephanie -Your kids are always so colorful!! Have a super weekend!
Krista -Thank you for a good laugh today, needed it!! I’ll be pulling a chair up next to Annie at the cookie dough for sure!
This Farm Family's Life-I have had a week like that too. Sunday I dropped my new iphone in the toilet. Tuesday, I was mowing and put a hole in my MIL’s car windsheild. Hope things get better for you!
Kerri -Congrats to Lauren.. My Daughter’s first year of HS volleyball just wrapped up here in Ga. So much fun …
Shabree -I want your apron in the background!!! Did u make it?
Tracie -I’m with you! My husband has been gone since Sunday night on a business trip and it has been a crazy week. I’m ready for him to come home tomorrow! I think I’ll be sleeping in all next week while he puts the kids on the bus!
4FabFranklins-lol! Now THAT’s a big wad of cookie dough! I love the childrens artwork on the back. Makes me smile.
karen -take it easy meg. order in.
Jen Brandt -I know I don’t know you, but I love you! This too shall pass. It’s rainy, nasty, cold here and I had to run 5 errands in it for work. Boo! Congrats to Lauren and her team for making it so far and good luck! Talby and Annie = 🙂
becky@oursweetpeas-Hope things slow down a bit so you can breathe! In the mean time just pray A LOT. 🙂
Alicia @ La Famille-hate days/weeks like that. sorry. hang in there, girlie. have a fun tourney!
Kerry-uurrghhh… i feel your pain, im just about to write a very similar blog post! (((big hug)))
Well done Lauren – rock it girl xx
Holly-I have had that kind of week as well. I think we are going car shopping, boo… I hate car shopping. I wish I had some cookie dough! and Wtg lauren!
Seriously Sassy Mama-How awesome for your daughters volley ball team. Sounds like you have a house full of athletes. That cookie dough looks awesome. i am making bread and apple pie today.
Sharla-Hope your luck turns around soon. CONGRATS to Lauren’s volleyball team!! My niece is a senior and got beat out in the finals at sub-state. So sad when the season is over.
charity-annie’s picture with the cookie dough and your art hanging in the background make me very happy!
andrea-Know How You Feel. My morning was absolutely CRAZY!! And everything seemed to go wrong. Ruth’s home school computer froze up while we were trying to print stuff off for the tutor session. Eian is home sick (coughed so bad he vomited) and the school phone system isn’t working so I can tell them he is home sick. My cell phone was almost dead – and while I was trying to call the school using that phone, the dog trips over the charger cord and unplugs it. And on and on… But I am thankful that these are just little things! Now, two hours later,I can smile. 🙂
D9 -LOVE IT!
Being a volleyball mom is crazy. We are off this weekend too.
Carrie -Good luck beating the week that is trying to do you in.
Have fun at the tournament – Way to go Lauren and team!
Linda - Hello, I found your blog today in Country Living Magazine.
Chi Anne - This misplaced Kansas girl loves the photos you post that remind her of home. Germany is beautiful, but I love Kansas more! Thank you for posting all the things that make my heart happy– Sonic, Walmart, sunshine 🙂
Laura Phelps - I have those Ikea curtains! (I use them as a table cloth now)
and…we made lasagna last night too.
weird.
🙂
Melissa - Ahh, Newton, I have a college girlfriend in Buhler! I love “visiting with you”. Happy Thursday!
April M - White Chicken Chili = yum and super easy
but no tater tots so we swung by Sonic on the way home from dance class (also = yum!)
THANK YOU
Your pictures and perspective are a blessing
(Thanking God for you too!)
Shellie Hanley - Meg, I feel like we’re friends and I love seeing what you’re up to. Can’t miss a day of Whatever!! 🙂
Heather Mattos - I was on the very same Heather Bailey page today. Pop Garden is the best ever! LOOOOOOVE your family photos 🙂 I can’t believe how big everyone looks. So cute.
Shivaun - This post is so lovely!! Thanks! And, FYI, I found some large multi-colored striped coffee mugs at a garage sale for a buck each and I snatched them up, inspired by you! They are my favorite morning coffee mugs now… a happy start to each day. You are a sweetheart!
Alicia @ La Famille - meg, i just love ya. you are so fun. so regular. but so inspiring. don’t ask me what’s so inspiring about going to walmart, but you just are. i smile when i’m here. thanks.
Jen Brandt - Love your pictures, Meg! Thank you.
Shauna - This is my favorite kind of Meg-post…beautiful colorful pictures, little tidbits about your day, and even a recipe..thanks!
Sarah - FOUR miles! You are good. LOVE those fabric sites-I can’t even sew and I love them!
karen gerstenberger - I love your Africa art with the “The King…” quote – one of my favorite quotes. Your family is so beautiful. Isn’t it a blessing to gather with extended family and share a meal? God is so good.
