scott does this ALL. THE. TIME.

IMG_5728-4

IMG_5715-1

if he is not bouncing a basketball….he is spinning it.
he threw down a challenge to his dad "i can spin it way longer than you can!"

IMG_5723-3
he made it for one minute.

IMG_5729-5
then it was dad's turn….

IMG_5731-6

scott won.

but….i think dad was going easy on him.

every great once in a while he does that….

bobbie - super cute, love it.

mollie's mom - Thanks for popping in and checking out our rainbow. I knew you’d love it 🙂
marcie

merlin - When I saw this rainbow cake slice necklace charm, I thought of you!
http://www.paisleyjade.com/

Kelly - My boys constantly make the motion of shooting hoops everywhere they go…..down the hall, at the bus stop, walking into a store. You’d think they’d get tired of it by now but they never stop!! Come baseball season, they’ll be “swinging” all the time.

Shauna - Hope this isn’t weird, but your husband is a cutey. I’m sure you know that. Unless he’s being annoying.

mollie's mom - I’ve always wanted to be able to do that but – ouch- it hurts!!
Posted something today that you will love.love!! Check it out if you have a second…
http://madebymolliesmom.blogspot.com/2012/02/somewhere-over-rainbow.html
Enjoyed your Craft Weekend pics, too. Looked like a lot of fun.
Marcie

Mindy Harris - HUNKS. hehe

Joy - I have one of those basketball obsessed boys at my house too. He even has it in his hand while he watches television in the evenings. There must be some magic powers in there we moms don’t know about.

amanda - this made me smile. my son always wants to race his dad. 99% of the time my husband wins, but when he lets my 10 year old win … his grin lasts for days. yay for dads and the impact they have on our kids …

Molly - That is really cool! Oh and last weekend when my beloved Cyclones beat your Jayhawks I thought of your family….I figured there were a few people who weren’t too happy! 🙂

DanaD@BoysMyJoys - Love it!
Doesn’t it just make your heart smile to see the two of them having a little friendly competition?
🙂
Happy Thursday… the weekend is ALMOST here!

any jupin - holy heck, they are such TWINS!
and I miss your kitchen.
and you.

happygirl - I love the tongue in cheek concentration. One day, Craig. One day. And the day gets closer each day. Scott will compete and win and the baton will be passed. 🙂

lucy - did you guys ever watch Pistol Pete? your son would be impressed:)

sarah - I love how involved Craig is with your kids. So many times you see people who were in the same situation you guys were in when you had lauren and they dont make it and even more the men arent involved. I love how much Craig does with your kids and how after all this time you guys still love eachother so much. You both are setting great examples for your kids.

Seriously Sassy Mama - That was funny.

Dana @ Bungalow'56 - Makes me wonder what our house would have been like with a few boys in it. With The Agronomist would have had the chance. Although it would have had something to do with shooting a puck : )
This is the first time I’ve seen that circular window in your pictures, that at least I’ve noticed. It is amazing. Did you have it made?
Dana

Kimberly Dial - Brings back memories of my youngest (who is now 29!) … if he wasn’t actually outside playing b-ball, he was dribbling and spinning the ball inside or making imaginary baskets as he leapt down the hallway towards his room. Basketball was his first love! I can still hear me saying “Philip Andrew, enough already!” … I wouldn’t take anything for those moments & that sweet boy … thanks for sharing!

Selflesslovediary.blogspot.com - I can do that for about 5sec… haha! So, I noticed your sons Wheatshocker sweatshirt, do u live in Wichita? My sis lives there and her hubby actually worked at Wichita State!

Jenna@CallHerHappy - Hehe. What a nice dad! And very impressive, Scott. I couldn’t do that for one second! Maybe I could beat him in jumping rope…
Jenna

Katie - love! way to capture such a fun and specific time in his life! can’t wait to hear about his basketball scholarship in a couple years 😉

all the duerksens in one frame.
crazy.
IMG_2530-39
we are super proud of her.
she did an awesome job playing hard all season.

GO RAILERS!

Addison_Acton - people prone to Liver imbalances such as migraines, menstrual irregularities or PMS, eye problems, muscle cramps or twitches this is even more crucial. As spring approaches and energy starts to rise it is important to direct this energy towards physical activity or new projects to prevent it from becoming stagnant or scattered.

Rach - Congrats to Lauren! Yay for the whole team!

crystal beutler - State games are so much fun. Congrats to the team! Second in STATE??? That’s sooo cool.
Your action shots are great Meg. And Lauren is beautiful.

Heather G. - You got some awesome pictures. Congrats, Lauren!

jenn - Rock on No. 2!!!!

steph - awwww, your first girl!
you must be so proud!
she wears my number when i was high school vball too.
#2… PLUS, i also hit right side back then.
it brings ME back looking at all these pics.
way to go, girls!
say congrats from me!
is she planning to play in college?

Jenna@CallHerHappy - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a picture of Lauren. You have beautiful children! And, I am a sucker for volleyball. Do as many volleyball posts as your heart desires!
Jenna

Sarah - Great pictures and congratulations to Lauren! I love that family shot at the end.

Susan - Great photos for such a great event! Looks like all the girls came out as winners and they have such a cheering section, how could they not be proud of each teammate! Way to go families for supporting all of them!

amy jupin - i agree with you…the outfits are a bit…much.
but!
way to go lauren on an awesome job!!

Jenna - Lauren is beautiful in many ways … and I love that her sisters are right next to her in the family picture 🙂

karla @ bluegrass jewelrydesigns - Congrats to Lauren and her team. Love all the action shots.

Kimberly Dial - YAY Lauren! Congrats!

Missy - Looks like a fun weekend…the craziest part about the volleyball uniforms…they’re longer now than they were back in the day when I played volleyball (and the ball was still made of stone j/k LOL)

linda lou - congratulations to Lauren and i love the family photo! don’t know how you do it with 5 beautiful kids, i kept busy with just two back in my day 🙂
blessings,

jen - two things…#1 congratulations lauren! i just love watching high school sports. #2 what are your camera settings for inside the gym? i tried taking pictures of my sons first basketball game and they s-u-c-k-e-d big time. nothing but blurs and horrible lighting. i have a rebel xti but you’d never know it with the pictures i produce :O)

Sandy - That brought tears of joy to my eyes. Because 1. my daughter played volleyball and I miss watching, 2. I’m so proud of them for going to state AND for getting 2nd place!, 3. It’s so great to see Lauren (the missing teen) again and see her smiling and so happy. It’s obvious from your pictures that she’s an awesome blocker – great pictures! Way to go, Lauren & team! We were rooting for you all the way over here in Ohio!!

Tina I - Congrats to Lauren!!! What an accomplishment!!!! And that vertical!?! To die for. And those legs that look that great in those too-short shorts!?! To die for, too. My favorite part? Seeing your whole family! As a mom of 5, I’m a sucker for a big family:-)

chrissi - Beautiful family! Great win! You are truly blessed.

Tracy Fisher - woo hoo lauren! way to go duerksens!
tracy fisher

Lori Austin - Great pics.
Congrats to Lauren and her team!!

julie - Yay Lauren!!! State!!!! Amazing. Maybe the Cali sun right before volleyball started had something to do with it.

ira lee - i know, volleyball shorts are outrageous!!! but one day all the girls will look back and say, wow, my butt looked awesome!!! lol, dont we all wish our bums looked as good now as they did at 18?!?!?! hahaha

tiffany gardner - you go Lauren!

4FabFranklins - Woo-Hoo Lauren! Woo-Hoo Meg! You got some really great action shots! I’m impressed.
I know…Carody wears her spankies All The Time! {cheer} It drives me crAAAzy!

happygirl - Good for Lauren. And GREAT action shots. So exciting to see how HIGH those girls can jump. FUN

shabby mama - she is LOVELY girl! congrats to the hard working team!
those shorts are short but they have the figures for them lol!
great shot of the family too!
happy november!

Sugar Mama - My 8 year old daughter LOVES volleyball but HATES the short tight shorts. So she says that when she gets to highschool she is changing the dress code for women’s volleyball! Ha! 🙂 I just loved it.

Sarah - How fun!!! Who does Lauren resemble the most? I can’t quite decide

Kerry - oh I wondered about the bikini thing too! hahah!
well done Lauren! you go girl.
Meg, love the family shot – so nice to see you allllll together 🙂 xx

Kara @ June & Bear - I remember being so worried when we switched over to the tight little shorts my sophomore season. Our attendance sure went up. Congrats to Lauren. What a great achievement and great memories for her. I miss volleyball almost every day and it’s been close to 20 years since I played.

Kara @ June & Bear - I remember being so worried when we switched over to the tight little shorts my sophomore season. Our attendance sure went up. Congrats to Lauren. What a great achievement and great memories for her. I miss volleyball almost every day and it’s been close to 20 years since I played.

Southern Gal - Volleyball is a great sport. Love to watch those girls play so hard. Congratulations to Lauren!

Leonie - Man seriously… Well dome Lauren, that is a great achievement! And on the shorts…. I remember having legs that could wear shorts that short… I only wish I worked harder at keeping those legs……. I know it’s short but if a girl can pull them off confidently without needing to be sexual then you should be as proud as punch! She seems like a sweet mature responsible girl from your posts, enjoy her xxx and well doe S mum and dad… We are the same age Meg and I cannot imagine anyone over 8 yet!!! You are doing great!
leonie

TinaM. - Too cool. My sisters team won states in cross country running back in the day.

Gemma @ Musings of a gem - Yay go Lauren!

Jane - congratulations Lauren! awesome photos of a great competition.
re the short shorts – Meg be happy that she doesn’t (yet) play beach volleyball – they wear a bikini!!

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - Oh Meg! Congratulations! How exciting. I bet you are super pumped. You should probably jam out to some Black Eyed Peas for a while. Woo hoo!

Jack - Aw! You must have been so proud of her! I even get emotional watching my little ones taking part in school sports day (all that effort on their wee faces!) so I can’t even imagine how you must have felt.

Kori - Watching kids play sports is always so fun! To see them persevere and succeed…regardless of where they place. Congrats to Lauren (who is so pretty, btw) and her team!!
I was never a fan of playing volleyball….all that pain in my forearms from the ball slapping on them? No thanks. 🙂 I’ve always been impressed by those who aren’t bothered by that. 😉

Shaina Brown - Congrats, this post brings back SO many memories for me! FYI- when I was playing the “shorts” were called bunners and were basically swim suit bottoms so Lauren’s are WAY better!

sara @ it's good to be queen - wow that is so exciting! love the family shot of all of you. and Lauren is gorgeous.

Elizabeth - Your daughter is so beautiful and strong! I’m always shocked at those shorts volleyball players wear and thing they should probably just put on a bikini bottom, right? I think I’m just jealous, though — 🙂

Lisa - I just realized, it wasn’t a leotard type outfit, but more like bikini bottoms with a long sleeve jersey. Felt the need to clarify! haha 🙂

Lisa - I love volleyball! My 10 year has played for a couple years now. I secretly hope she continues to play at a more competitive level. So fun! By the way, I remember YEARS ago, college volleyball players wearing a “leotard” type outfit. It wasn’t even shorts!! I remember as a young girl going to watch games with my dad and thinking, ” I will NEVER play volleyball if I have to wear THAT!” 🙂 Congrats to Lauren. What an awesome thing to be a part of!!

Terrie G - Don’t you just LOVE volleyball?! I miss watching my daughter…
I’m so with you on the uniform thing!! Not sure my daughter liked them either actually.
Is one of your coaches Jamie? IF so…we went to the same church and I may have been a youth sponsor for her at one time or another. Can’t remember if she was in youth group when I was a leader or not. Congrats to your team! Loved your action shots!! Wish I had a great camera like I do now, back then!!

Mary Susan McConnell - So exciting! Great shots! Loved seeing the whole family in one shot 🙂

Kimberly - Great post Momma! My youngest is really into v-ball this year, for the first time, and is doing great with it. She’s in grade 7 and is the tallest on the team. They’re wearing their school uniform gym strip shorts… looong blue satin! Julianna is so glad they’re not short! It’s a Christian school and so far I think the school finds the short shorts too ‘distracting’. I’m with them!

Melissa - Wow!! That’s incredible! Go Lauren!!
I played volleyball in high school.
I would not have had we had shorts like that, though.
I could not pull off the booty shorts. 🙂
Awesome, pictures, too!
Gym lighting + action shots?
You’re amazing.

Sharla - It looks like she was a key player on the team – look at her jump! Great job Lauren! I would go back to high school just to play volleyball again 🙂

Wendy - YAY … that’s awesome!

Debbie Hargadon - Okay – I live in the Central Coast Section of the California Interscholastic Federation — where we have some of the best girls volleyball in the nation. I work during playoffs and have for 15 years. I KNOW what a big deal this is! Congratulations to Lauren and her team! Anywhere in the top 4 is huge, so 2nd is great! I also recognize how high she gets on her blocks! Very nice. An experience she will hopefully have for the rest of her life! Meg – every volleyball girl in America wears those same shorts. At least their bellies weren’t showing. 🙂 ha! That would be California. :/
I’d rather watch volleyball than soccer. 🙂 You get a little of every Kansas sport, it seems. The fall out of 5 kids.
Thanks for sharing. These were great.

kasey - wait till she starts playing beach volleyball in a bikini…..

Dana Banana - So glad that they got 2nd!! Lauren looks like she loves to play. About the short shorts…I agree they seem SO short. But I seem to remember a time when a group of girls went to cheer camp and had to have matching outfits everyday. That group chose shorts and sports bras for 1 of their uniforms! I can not believe that we did that!!

Darcie L. - Hey, for all that hard work, they deserve to hold up a #1 or whatever they want! Congratulations. And I love the family pic – what a crew. What fun it will be (and what good lessons) for us to teach our kids when they’re older, how to support one another in their activities… even if it means sitting and drawing and not watching an ounce of it. 🙂 I can’t wait for our kids to cheer one another on!

Julie - Congratulations, Lauren!!!

karen - way to go lauren!! i miss playing volleyball…that was over 15 years ago!

soggy….

IMG_8320-1
we had a rainy rainy weekend over here.

IMG_8340-2

IMG_8341-3

IMG_8343-1

IMG_8349-4
annie saw our neighbors playing in the puddles and asked to join them.  :)
oh they had so much fun getting soaked.

IMG_8376-2
there was more volleyball, soccer and football this weekend too.

IMG_8366-1

i was planning on going to sean's football game but it was raining.
i just dropped him off at the field and said
"honey…i love you but i can't sit in the rain and watch football….because…. i am a girl."
craig went.
but i did not.

i like this gum.
IMG_7895-1

a lot.
it was on sale at our grocery store….so i just bought it all.
because it's the thing i have to have to feel ready to go somewhere…..
i think " keys? check. coffee? check.  gum? what no gum? oh no. oh no. oh no."

also deoderant.
i am a total spaz about smells.
always paranoid about B.O.
i have deodorant in my purse.

weeeeeeeeeirdo.

………………………………………..

umm….i started the Jenny Craig program….for reals.
come over here and read about it.  :)

Lisa Currie-Gurney - JUST GOT TO READING THIS POST.
THAT IS MY FAVORITE GUM, AND I AM SO FUSSY ABOUT SMELLING NICE ALL THE TIME.
CHECK WITH YOUR MOM. WE MIGHT BE TWINS SEPARATED AT BIRTH. 🙂
HUGS FROM MY HEART

April R - The puddle pictures were so awesome made me wish it would rain!
(I have deodorant and gum for on the go as well)

Jenny - I have deoderant in my purse too! and my desk drawer! You just never know.

kristin - oh, sweet annie. she looks more and more like talby all the time!!

Mel - LOLs Meg…you are such a funny lady 🙂

Wendy Hagen - Great pics! And glad your breath always has the opportunity for freshness.

crystal buetler - You are getting the most fabulous shots!!!! Love all of these, especially the rain photos. Glad to know someone else is a freak about certain things. Mine is Carmex. I buy tons of it, and can’t leave home without it. 🙂

Carla V. - Great picks of playing in the rain. I’m also weird about B.O. and other smells. Especially in my home. I also cary deodorant because living in AZ, you always need it. Thanks for sharing those lovely family photos.

Hannah - These photos are LOVELY!
And I’m a freak about BO, too…like unnecessarily paranoid. And when I read that you kept it in your purse my first thought was: “Good idea!”

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - Is that the gum with the “juice” inside? if so, I love that stuff! And Im the exact same way-deodrant and gum all the way. In fact, Ive carried my toothbrush and travel sized paste around with me before. Theres just nothing worse than bad body stink. 🙂

Tracy Fisher - Looks like you live in WA state..haha. Love the rain for about 1 week (to water my lawn and watch the kids play in it), then it gets old. Cute photos. One day I want you to photograph my kids. You seem to bring out their personalities unlike me as their mom yelling “come on.. smile at the camera..just one more time.. i promise… come on… do it now… now i’m getting mad…”. haha
tracy fisher

Teresa Marie - I have a friend who keeps deodorant in her purse, I keep it in the glove compartment of my car.
I love the line you said to your son, that’s totally going to be me when my boys get bigger. Sorry, I can’t I’m a girl.

Michelle - That is Ramona Quimby FOR SURE in the top photo!!

Kirtley Adams - I love the pictures! We just moved to Kanas this weekend while it was raining.

Kerry - wahahha! love how you just bought it all … i do that. if I’m shopping and I’m cold, I just go buy a jacket. pfffttt!
love the pics of laurens volleyball. awesome-o. xx

Valerie @ Chateau A la Mode - I’m a freak when it comes to smells too, especially how I smell 🙂 I have to say, never heard of anyone keeping deoderant in their purse….hmmmmm!!!! I might have to try that!

amber - I have a friend who can’t leave the house without her toothbrush & toothpaste. Makes me laugh:). Also, the pics of Annie are so fun, & Lauren looks like a serious volleyball player. Awesome.

kelly - Kids and puddles…it’s a magnetic force.

Heather G. - Those puddle-jumping pictures are amazing! And I’ve never seen that gum before – now I’ll be on the hunt for it. Best of luck with Jenny Craig!

stephanie - I carry deodorant in my purse too! 😛

Kristin S - My fave gum too!

Lori Austin - Gum is a must!
Fun puddle pics.
Good luck with Jenny. So wish that weight wasn’t an issue all the time, but it sure is. I’ve lost some this year, but not nearly what I was hoping for. I keep trying, doing my best….that’s I can do. I mentioned in the other comments that my BIG hangup is emotional eating. BIG problem! Can’t wait to read about your journey. I’ll keep trying right along with you 🙂

Andrea@KnittyBitties - I feel the oh.no oh.no oh.no when I don’t have a drink with me. Not like a hard drink, LOL, but my iced tea or water when I go to jump in the car.
And my sister carries deodorant in her purse too ;). Looks like you’re pretty normal!
Happy Day!

mary - That is not weird about the deodorant. I do it too. Except mine usually ends up falling out of my purse and onto the floor in my car and then melting because I live in Texas. So I am always buying deodorant. I wish more people did it too!

Emily - I also have deodorant in my purse. And in my desk at work. Deson’t everyone? Ha!

Heather - Stinker – you got all the rain they kept promising us in Topeka that NEVER showed. Poo! We REALLY need it!

Susan - I absolutely can’t function without my gum. Deoderant in your purse? You are a genius!

CathyC - I have deodorant in my bag too!!!! HA! and I can not live without Chapstick. So basically, if I was stranded on an island, 2 of my must have items would be deodorant and Chapstick.

happygirl - I love the way you catch the water droplets as they fly in the air. Ethereal.

Jenna@CallHerHappy - Love the volleyball pics. I just took my baby over to a volleyball game. Totally forgot how loud they are. She FREAKED! Poor baby. My bad.
Jenna
callherhappy.com

Tracey - Meg, where do you get your super cute fabric?

Kacey - I love the puddle photos! Makes me want to go jump in one! Every time it rains here in AZ, my kids get excited about jumping in puddles. Sadly, most of the time it “rains” for 5 minutes and then stops, leaving no puddles. Bummer!

Holly - Im the same about diet coke and chap stick. they are my gotta haves but I am working on the diet coke habit…..it could get ugly:)

Terrie G - Love those puddle pictures!! Ahhhh, how I miss Saturday volleyball tournaments!
Totally don’t blame you on not wanting to sit in the rain for the football game, but I did it on Saturday for the KSU game…so worth it since we beat Missouri! HaPpY MoNdAy!!

seriouslysassymama - I loved all the rain this weekend! Splashing in the puddles is a must. My 8 year old is crazy weird about smells. I have to have lipstick before I leave the house. That and mu iPhone. It is like another organ to me.
Good Luck with Jenny Craig

Sandy - Great picture of Lauren hitting the ball over the net. Were you afraid of getting your camera wet taking the pictures of Annie & friends?

Jill Franklin - Love Love Love the puddle pictures! LOVE!
awww shucks! The rain mised us.

gina f. - these are the best pics ever of Annie, and there’s been some good ones!!

Amy Griffin - You take the most amazing pictures. Love Annie in the first picture. Priceless

Jack - Love the photos of the girls splashing in the puddles!

FeFe - I can’t leave the house without lip balm and sunglasses…ever!

Tami - That’s funny about the smells because I am the same way. I keep deodorant in my car in the console. And I always keep some kind of mints and never leave without the mint lip gloss from bath and body.

friday ramblings….

IMG_7806-1-2

mmmmmmm……sweet baby emmet.
i love his name.
and he was dreamy.

IMG_7815-2

have you noticed our lack of craft thursdays???
my kids have.
i realize that is a sign of having too much on my plate.
i just can’t do it.
and with so many sports practices we just don’t have the time.

BUT once the photo season is done for me….27 more days….i will be able to do it.
football will end.
volleyball will end.
we will have more time at home….i hope.
and craft thursdays will return.

annie just came up with her own project instead.

IMG_7874-3-2

lauren’s volleyball team is so much fun to watch.
they are serious.
they hit so hard….i would never stand on the other side of them!

IMG_7865-2-2
there is BIG NEWS at our house…..
IMG_7887-4-2

ANNIE can TIE HER SHOES!!!
she was so excited to tell me.
she kept saying “daddy is going to be so proud of me!!!”   🙂
pretty darn cute.

IMG_7838-1-2

she came home from school yesterday with this face.
i said “you have a mustache”
and she smiled so big and announced “YES!!! my friend did it with marker FOR FREE!!!!”

well ok…as long as you didn’t pay for it.
oh annie.

………………………………………….

chelsea - Where did you find your sign in the back ground of your picture? the grey sign that has family rules on it/ I love it!

leonieke - pffff.. it’s a relieve to hear something is not going your way ( crafty thursdays) you still sound like a miracle mother to me! making beautifull pictures of your own children and others.. enjoying your daughters sport, and still visit lots of blogs and write your own. wow..
this dutch girl is still impressed. 🙂

Heather G. - Go Annie!! And I’m dying that “the mustache was free.”

Kimberly Dial - Emmet is soooo cute! I loved volleyball in high school (I feel certain I’d die if I tried to play now! 😉 I love your Craft Thursdays so I’ll be glad when you have more time 😉 and that Annie is a girl after my own heart. I have a feeling (a strong one!) that my oldest granddaughter Emily & her are kindred spirits! Gotta love ’em!

Shaina Brown - Love a sweet little baby named Emmet, my “baby” Emmett just turned 3. The volleyball pics make me miss my glory days, love that she isn’t wearing knee pads! And Annie? what can you say, it was free after all!

Michelle - ahhhh. . . it wasn’t even a year ago you were taking pictures of my sweet babe & that sweet Emmett makes me want to rewind to clock (or get pregnant!) Love Annie’s stash. . .too funny!

Valerie @ Chateau A la Mode - Heehee Annie…way cute!

Lori Austin - Hip hip hooray! Good job Annie! We just celebrated this milestone at our house too. I think our girls are close in age. Fun times!
Lauren looks so intense.
The baby pics are about more than I can take. Why did we stop at 2????? Sniff….
Happy weekend.

Christine H - Hi! I’ve been searching your website for awhile tonight trying to find out where you got that print on the top of the cabinet that Annie is painting in front of (see 2nd photo from the top on this post). It has all the words/sentences on it like “use kind words” ” be considerate” etc. I know that you’ve probably mentioned it before but I had no luck finding a source reference. If you wouldn’t mind sharing I’d appreciate it! thanks!

Jenny B. - Yay that Annie can tie her shoes! We’ve been working on that at our house too. I’ll have to show my 6yo son this post. Maybe knowing that Annie can do it will give him a little boost. 🙂 So funny about the “free” moustache! Has she read the book Moosetache? It’s funny. 🙂

Jenna@CallHerHappy - O my gosh! Annie cracks me up. She has an eye for a deal.
Jenna
callherhappy.com

Angie G. - I love the photo of Emmet – we can’t wait to see them all!! Thank you so much! Angie

Tracy Fisher - If we lived closer I’d let you in on our whacky carpool! haha. It’s one of those carpools where everyone starts texting each other by 3pm trying to figure out how to get all of the kids to their sports… and trying to get a night off every once in awhile to make a nice dinner…haha.
Love the baby in the photo!
tracy fisher

Kat - Oh gosh that little baby Emmet makes me want to have #5 now!!
Annie is so sweet – love the moustache and that Lauren, she is gorgeous. (Oh to have toned legs and a butt like that!!! You go girl!)
I so get why you are so busy all the time and I only have 4, but wow it is always busy!!

shauna - that top baby pic!
aaaaghh!
so great.
you are so great.
even without crafts.

Ashlyn@Pinecone - Ooooohhhh that sweet babe!!!!!! Happy weekending!

Tanya H - I love the links you share, gets me thinking about gift-giving!

heather - friends that give free mustaches are THE best kind of friends.
happy weekend!

This Farm Family's Life - We haven’t been doing very many crafts either. My oldest has been begging me. We finally made spiders last night. Ready for things to slow down also.

seriouslysassymama - Your Annie should get together with my Abby. They would totally hit it off! Oh baby Emmett. I would almost ask for the Doc to untie my tubes for a cutie like that.

Kimberlee Jost - Yay, Annie!
So glad she didn’t pay for the mustache.
Tell her I’ll give her one for free, too. 😉

Elaine Entz - oh good… now for the rest of us moms who rarely do crafts with our kids, we can feel less guilty 🙂
love love love that b/w print behind the globes. did i see that at kitchen corner?
lauren’s fun to watch… great to see her blooming in her volleyball talents…

Sarah - What type of lens/settings do you use for the volleyball pictures. I’m trying to get better pictures of my daughters games. Thanks!!

Ashley - that picture of emmet? my ovaries hurt. thanks for that. 🙂

Jodi @ The Un-Soccermom Blog - Baby Emmett is a dream!
Love the VB shots! Lauren looks fierce!
Annie is cute as always!

ingrid lapp - I just found your blog about a week ago and have spent a lot of time reading thru all of your old posts. Very enjoyable….however the laundry piled up and we didn’t eat very good meals 🙂

Jen Brandt - LOVE…Annie’s moustache and sweet baby Emmet. Have a wonderful weekend, Meg!

Jennifer - Oh my goodness, Emmet is one handsome dude! Beautiful photograph.

Holly - cute little Annie!

happygirl - Such a precious baby. LOVE the free mustache. LOVE the kids noticing the crafting is missing. It lets me know they LOVE it and it’s not just a photo op. Things like this are what make you the authentic and special blogger you are. 🙂

basketball

i am so happy that the tradition continues.
craig played basketball from this age on.
i watched him all through high school and then four years of college.
he still plays several times a week….STILL!
there has been a LOT of basketball in our life already.
and now scott is as into it as his dad is.

a year ago i was rolling my eyes and dreading another game.
but now….i love it.

it's not as fun when the little ones are bored and whine while you watch.
but i still love being there.

it's SO COOL to see them improve so much in a year.
to win!
to make the threes!

last game i told scott there was a mom in the crowd that would shout "DON"T LET HIM SHOOT!!!" every time he would get the ball and that made me so happy.  :)
she knew he'd make it if he got a shot.
that is awesome.
he liked it too.
it's motivating.

yay for basketball.
there are MANY years of bleachers and squeaking shoes in my future.
and i am thrilled.

gabrielle - I love watching my kids play sports and I think we they are all done I’ll miss the getting up and being at those early games. My eldest just started playing basketball for her Middle School and she LOVES it…she has played soccer since she was five so I don’t know if that will ever stop.. Enjoy the season of sports…

Katie H - Love it! I grew up watching my older brother play in a gazillion games. He was always the smallest guy on the court, but played with the heart of giant. His hard work landed him a spot at KU for two years….then on the coaching staff at KU….and now he is the head coach of his own team and couldn’t be happier. Maybe someday you’ll be watching your son run through the tunnel at the fieldhouse! Tell him to dream big!!

alicia @ la famille - i LOVE bball! i used to play in highschool (and was pretty good if i do say so myself :)) i’m tall. it was my thing. so naturally, i’m hoping one of my three love it too 🙂 yeah for your guy!

happygirl - Proud mama. You preach it mama. It’s good to let your kids know you root for them. And thanks for the cool sports action picks. 🙂

Jessica J. - Great shots! I was wondering how you keep track of all your pictures. Obviously you take a gazillion a day and manage to get them all online so quickly! I have such a hard time paring down all the pictures I take and organizing them. Any hints or secrets?

Jenna - Good for you! If you “have to” be there, you may as well enjoy it, huh … and he will always remember the support he was given.

Katrina - I love your picture of his jump shot! Beautiful form.

hannah - basketball is the greatest!! my favorite to play and watch. enjoy! xo

Andrea - Basketball is the only sport I love well and dance for those who consider that a sport. I cant wait till my little guy plays.
P.S. I saw a mention of you in the parenting magazine on page 44 issue for July so cool your famous and I read your blog.

Kimberly Dial - My youngest son loved, loved, loved basketball … it’s great to watch them play something they enjoy so much, isn’t it? Enjoy momma! 🙂

Kimberly Dial - My youngest son loved, loved, loved basketball … it’s great to watch them play something they enjoy so much, isn’t it? Enjoy momma! 🙂

Juli - I love squeaky shoes!

Samantha Bayer - I grew up being a “gym rat” and now I married a wrestle what a change of pace! Good thing your kiddos have a great bball team to look up to there in Kansas!

Tasha - very sweet thoughts…loved how much the other mom’s shouts made you feel good-it’s good to see them doing well at something-especially something they love! enjoy and enjoy.

Karen Gerstenberger - I love this. Gregg played in high school, and we had a court poured and a nice hoop set in, but the kids did not get the “bug”…until David went to Gonzaga for college. Now he is a basketball maniac, and he wants Gregg to play with him when he’s home. It’s so lovely to see the two guys out there, having a blast together. And the “old man” can still beat the kid…for now. =)
We are BIG G.U. fans, so we will watch for you K.U. (or is it K. State?) folks!

Jena Simms - Ditto to this post. I am also a “Basketball Mom” and lovin’ it.

dotsie (aka podso) - I get this post completely.

jennibell - !!!!!!!

Terrie G - I really miss sitting in the bleachers for my kids’ games. Enjoy it! You get some good shots in a gym!
Love that I have some things to make me smile after a long day of jury duty! Love that 4th of July cake….saw that today too and think I may have to try it!!

Kim - Woohooo! Love it!!! 🙂

CathyC - That is exactly how I feel about my son’s baseball games. And this was only his first year playing 😉

Staci - I wish I loved it as much as you do 🙁 Maybe in a few years 😉 I’m such a loser…I LOVE being home…and not on a stinky bb court on a Saturday 🙁 I need to change my attitude don’t I!!!! Thanks for this motivation!

Tara - love these pictures…and love that you love being there to watch and cheer them on….I have to admit that I don’t always have the best attitude when it comes to sitting out in the BLAZING HOT HEAT of Orlando while my kids play soccer…I don’t complain to them, but I sure complain in my heart and it has to show at times….
you’ve given me something to work on. 🙂

tara pollard pakosta - lucky mom!
I would LOVe it if my girls played basketball!
your hubby must LOVE that he has someone to shoot hoops with!
tara

amy jupin - one word: scholarship.
🙂

Jenna - proud mama 🙂 as you should be!
Jenna

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - Oh, I love that last pic! Great catch!

Kirsten J - I know just what you mean – my girl plays softball and I love hearing the other team shout out “lead off batter!!!” when she’s up to bat 🙂

amy b. - love the whole gymnasium atmosphere! is that weird? and of course, the snack bar junk food!

deb - You may have a future KU basketball player on your hands!! How cool would that be?! We would be cheering for him all the way from DC!!

Leslie - so cool!

Katy - That is so awesome. 🙂

susan ponder - When my 7yo said he wanted to play basketball this past winter season, I was skeptical. Turns out I love it. I love the sounds, the scoreboard (even though we’re not supposed to care about that at this age) and the controlled climate. And my son is really good at it, which makes it more fun.

tam - that’s exactly how I feel about football, I watched my husband play through HS, then in a semi-pro league, then once his body started screamin’, he played in an adult flag league. Now both of my boys play and he coaches….I LOVE football season 🙂 Enjoy it, time passes so quickly!

Sarah - LOVE the new header!!!
From the sounds of it you have a “beast” of a baller on your hands 🙂

friday.

our craft thursday this week has March Madness theme to it.

i found these big paper mache letters at Joann's for $3.00 each on sale.

(how great is the NEW joann's in wichita?! awesome.)

i grabbed the KU paint colors and we had the glitter at home already.
my kids get excited about new sponge brushes too.

IMG_9812-1

IMG_9815-3

sean and talby painted the K.
annie and i painted the U.

IMG_9814-2

IMG_9822-4

it took a few coats to get it covered fully.
then when it was dry we painted the front side with glue.

IMG_9921-6

IMG_9923-7

then covered it in glitter.

IMG_0098-1

FANCY.

we also made posters for our windows (just like when i was a cheerleader!)
we made signs to hold during the games.
and we filled out our brackets.
according to our scoring annie is winning so far.

tonight we are going to watch the game together as a family.

i will fight my urge to get up and do other things while it's on….it's hard to sit still and just watch.
but i will do it.

i think.

vintage pearl gift certificate WINNER!!!

I would get the angel wing with my husband's name on it. Sadly, he passed away a year ago, and I know he is watching over my son and I. He is forever in my heart, and I know God put him in my life for a reason. I know I will see him again, and it will be a sweet reunion.

gretchen…….send me your info and i will pass it onto erin at the vintage pearl!

Kelly - I have a small cheer girl with big cheer dreams. KU is on her radar which delights me as it is just close enough to be away from home. She would love to know about your cheer experience. ~Kelly
unDeniably Domestic

Dawn - Great craft. Now we are Iowa Hawk fans but I loved your craft. Good idea.

Brooke - I am so sorry that you haven’t even had a chance to talk about your sad jayhawk loss. I am wondering if I could borrow your letters and turn them into UK for the Wildcats 🙂 My sweetest friends are Jayhawks…and we always joke because they live in LExington, KY….home of UK. We always talk about how their letters are confused. But through the years, they have turned me into a jayhawk lover (behind the cats)….so I was so sad to see them go out of the tournament to VCU. Hope your kids are not too bummed!
I am SO BUMMED, I missed your store opening, like so many others, I am sure. I am so sad :). I had my eye on a heather bailey/polka dot pillow for so long!! Maybe next time! Happy week to you!

christine - Hubby and I were just in San Antonio for our 10th anniversary & the KU people were everywhere! There was a section of the Riverwalk that was sectioned off with large KU Alumni Association welcome banners and all that. It was fun, festive and reminded me of you 🙂

Kirsten P - So glad you and your family got to enjoy the cool glittery KU letters with a win on Friday!! So sad they lost today.

Candy - Love those! I need to make some of those before the game tomorrow! ROCK CHALK!!

Lisa - Super cute! I bought a couple of those letters awhile back. Love them!

Staci - I love this so much 🙂

Elizabeth - Adorable, but we would need U N C — go Tar Heels! 🙂

the whyte house - the kids and i were out east this week and noticed they had opened the new joann’s. i told my husband that the store looked huge and he said, “greeeeattt”. haha.

Courtney Walsh - These turned out so cute!!! 🙂

Kat - Gretchen sounds like a very deserving winner! Enjoy Gretchen!

Teresa - Goooo Jayhawks!!! Love the letters!

Jamie - That looks so pretty on the computer, but I REALLY Want to know if it looks like that for real?

Sally - That is awesome that Gretchen won!

Kelly - Those letters look GREAT! Kelly

marta - i am so doing this. i love glitter. i love letters. i love getting crafty. thank you. p.s. i appreciate the guest post so much. you are a new and likely forever favorite. xo.

Allison - Rock Chalk!
(And April, or anyone else who is wondering, “Rock Chalk Jayhawk!” is a cheer for KU. “Rock chalk” refers to the particular limestone that is prevalent in western and central Kansas… if you drive through Kansas, you’ll see limestone post rock fences lining the fields.)

sherry - Love this. I am also a Kansas native, living in Seattle, I think I need to represent :). Rock Chalk!! Looking good so far!!

Stephanie - Here in Tucson we are U of A fans all the way… maybe our teams will meet up for the championship game!!! Love the letters though:)
Can’t wait for your etsy shop to open so I can order that cute rainbow shirt that Annie is wearing (or the jacket) LOVE IT!!

Heather - Rooooock….Chaaaaaalk….Jay….Haaaaawk…K……U…..!
Rock Chalk JayHawk – KU!
Love. Love. Love. The letters! Awesome! I have glitter envy.

Margo - I saw all of your posters in the windows this week – they are great! I love your KU glitter letters as well – ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!

Danielle - Love Annie’s shirt!

Molly - ROOOOOOOOOOOCKKKKKKKK CHALLLLLLLKKKK JAYYYYYYHAWWWWWWKKKK! I might just have to make letters like that, but I really want a glitter covered Jayhawk!

Amanda - seriously??? are you TRYING to dare me to stop reading your blog?!??! Because I can’t handle this kind of stuff. I tried so hard not to hear you actually saying that chant as it was typed out – but it was SOOOO hard, and SOOOO annoying!!!
I guess you may be awesome enough I can look past this.

Tracy Fisher - First, your winner was so meant to be! What a touching story. And second, Go Jayhawks! They are on my bracket too. I figured that if I can’t win (the tv remote, that is)… then I should join them (yes, I had my 10 yr old help me out with my picks and I am beating the whole family).
Tracy Fisher

karen - i love glitter!! love the letters!
it makes me cringe a bit when i see it being poured like that. i know it’s weird…when my 3 year old uses it…i keep saying ‘don’t waste it’!
I know I know…i got to get over it!

Tricia - This Mizzou alum will be rooting for Kansas tonight! Just don’t tell anyone! 🙂

Sarah@this farm family's life - LOVE IT! I’ll be watching tonight also.

Sharla - I agree with Catie 🙂 – but this KSU fan will be watching tonight’s game with my brother, who is a big KU fan. . . .

Mindy Harris - gretchen’s comment is making me cry!!
i’m a k-state alum but i still read your blog. 🙂

Brianna - KU is playing U of R! This city of Richmond is going nuts with two of our hometown teams in the Sweet 16! Go Spiders! Sounds like so much fun to be watching the game together 🙂

deedrap - Hey Meg- a friend of mine sent this to me…thought the Duerksen’s might enjoy it!!! Rock Chalk!!!
http://www.theatlantic.com/culture/archive/2011/03/march-madness-if-you-root-against-kansas-you-root-against-america/72991/

Molly - Very cute!!! We are hopeing KU wins…but only because we cheer for the Big 12 when our team is out (….and they have been out for awhile). We are hopeful they get back into the big dance real soon! We are {huge} Iowa State fans:) Have a great night!!

MommaH - As the one other KU fan couple at church: ROCK CHALK!!!

Terrie Galle - Dear Megan…I’ve LoVeD all of your posts..up til now…bet you can’t guess why! I still love ya though!! Sincerely…a kSu fan 🙂 You’re laughing right?! Cause…I like to keep you laughing! It’s what I do best 🙂

Jemm - I was so bummed I didn’t win, then I read Gretchen’s comment and felt like a dork. So glad she won and God bless.
As far as THE game goes…stinkin’ Jayhawks. But I’ll be cheering for them tonight anyway. I’m just still smarting over the Wildcat’s loss, I’m an Wildcat alum after all! Cute letters 😉

pam - Love the letters….Rock Chalk Jayhawks! One of my roommates in college was the baby Jay mascot. I used to go into a storage room at the arena to help her get into her outfit. I still remember the size 20 something men’s B-ball shoes laying around in there. Thankfully when I was in college in the 70’s it was not as hard to get tickets for the games and we won a lot then too. I can never walk away from our boys when they’re on….they do some amazing passes and slam dunks….just don’t want to miss any of it.

emily anderson - rock chalk! i have a hard time watching the games though—i get all funky and nervous.
lol.

Kate - LOVE IT! Rock Chalk!

Nancy - Love the sparkle and the team spirit. I lived in Witchita from 1999-2000. A brief stint but I loved it none the less. So glad there is a new rockin’ Joann’s. Congrats.

ashley jensen - Hmmm…I noticed a shirt change on Annie in the pictures. We only watch the Superbowl. The letters would be cute for anything though!

april - they are sparkly!!! But what in the heck is rock chalk jayhawk??? I dont get it??? Please help!
april

Tonya - I’m so glad Gretchen won the vintage pearl gc!
We’ll be watching the Hawks tonight…you just might hear us cheering! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK…KU!!!

Kimberlee J. - Love the KU letters so much I’m thinking of doing some for myself….KJ.
Too much?
Yay for Gretchen!

heather - yay for gretchen!!
God loves you and your son Gretchen. He loves you both so very much.
xoxo

Jodi - Fancy letters for sure!
We are not BBall fans… Soccer is our sport! :o)

Dana Banana - Lovin that you made signs to hold up during the game!

catie - the letters sure are cute, but i’d rather add an S and paint them purple and white! GO CATS! 🙂
and, YES, the new joann’s is FANTASTIC!! i’m going there after work tonight!

Beth - Love those letters…ok I am going do this with Lexi and will share one day..not sure when we will but we are…this looks like lots of fun for the both of us! We will have to have a “U” in ours also…UGA Rocks!
Oh so happy that Gretchen won! I don’t even know who she is but oh so happy!
Have a great weekend!

Karen Gerstenberger - Those letters turned out great! Since Gonzaga (the men’s team) is no longer in the running, I will root for your team.

Leah - Can your kids to SDSU for my Aztecs? I know they lost yesterday, but those letters are awesome!

Jenny Joy - I can’t think of a better way to commemorate Gretchen’s husband! 🙂
And ROCK CHALK! We’ll be watching, too.

Courtney - so great i totally need these!!!
ROCK CHALK BABY!

sara @ it's good to be queen - love it! so fun. you’re a good mama. my husband hasn’t lived in kansas in 14 years but he is a through and through jayhawk fan. he puts them to win on his bracket every. single. year.

tasha roe - love me some KU and some “fancy letters”
glitter makes everything better!

Meredith Salmon - So glad that Gretchen won. She deserves it. God bless to Gretchen and her son.

*edited…i forgot the pics of me and lauren!  they HAD to be on this post….i was sleepy when i was writing this the first time.
IMG_5445

we got tickets for a Wichita Thunder Hockey game.
i told my kids we were going to a game for family night.
it took over ten guesses to land on hockey. (basketball? football? baseball? ice skating?)
none of them had been to one before…and i have only seen one.

IMG_5461

IMG_5475

honestly….they loved it!
talby asked if we could come to them every week.
there was fighting and penalties….cheering and music….all good stuff.

IMG_5454

IMG_5466

sean got a frisbee that was thrown into the crowd.

IMG_5525
this photo required a bribe….can't recall what it was.
he's getting too cool for pics with mom.
puh-leeease.

IMG_5531
on our way out to the car lauren and craig enjoyed the free massage station.
it was "Ladies Night" at the hockey game so the halls were filled with tables of businesses giving stuff away.

IMG_5537

then the kids and craig slid down the railing….and only one kid fell.
(and that kid deleted that photo off my camera while i was using the restroom at KK.)

we drove through neighborhoods and looked at the lights on houses taking the long way to Krispy Kreme.

IMG_5588 IMG_5578

family night is always better with late night donuts.
we hadn't been here for a long time.

and this was.

oh….i am so dang hungry for a donut right now…..not cool.

IF you are interested in winning a $100 MasterCard you can click over to my other blog.
i am talking about a new site that has great deals.

BUT….IF you are feeling like a cranky pants and don't want a mastercard….DON'T GO.
please.
it's totally fine with me if you don't like my ad posts.
don't read them.

it.  is.  OK.

kristine - glad you had such a great family night. i love hockey too. such a fun sport to watch. natalie is only three and asked for ice skates when the game was over. sweet! 🙂

elisa - Merry Christmas!!

Rach - I have GOT to get to Krispy Kreme!!! NOW!!

Mary - Who loves her daddy?
That look is priceless.

Trish - If you ever head North of the border you need to try Tim Hortons. 🙂 Mmmmm…
Have a very Blessed Christmas!!

Laura - Did you get your coat at Von Maur? I think I tried it on in black. I wanted it, but already have a perfectly good black coat and couldn’t rationalize it, just for the cute ruffles. Have a Merry Christmas out in my home state of Kansas! Oh and I am making your Rainbow Cake in Christmas colors for Christmas eve at my house…off to frost it now!

kathy b - would you believe…Krispy Kreme went out of business here in the California state capitol where I live!
Merry Christmas and may God richly bless you and your family.
Kathy b

Julianne Brimner - We love Krispy Kremes except they are no longer carrying their cheesecake doughnut which is my fave. Meg, could you please do something about that for me…ha, ha. Glad you all had such a grand family time.

corie - Meg, thank you so much for being part of my morning coffee, when everyone in the house is still asleep. When it’s just me and I can start my day off as mama and wife with the best intentions, before all the hard parts of parenting kick in. I savor peeking at your blog each morning, for over a year now.The craft ideas, the photo ideas, donating to Africa, honesty about the work it takes when you fiercely love your family. All of these inspirations from you have made it into my home. XOXO, thank you and merry Christmas!

Jenn A. - “crankypants” haha!
Love the family pics and that seems like such a fun family night adventure!!! Thanks for keeping it real.

linda@limein the coconut - I THOUGHT I recognized that wink!
Merry Christmas to you and your brood…and I mean brood in the very nicest of ways…
😉

Carrie - Loved this post! Made me happy! I love your family night posts and I adore seeing the happy teenager pictures.
Are people seriously still giving you a hard time about the ads. I don’t want to sound rude, but people can simply stop coming if it bothers them that much. It’s rude to continue to come by and just complain. Come on people!

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - Oh girl you are so goofy. Love your wink. That night right there would be BIG in our house. Nothing we love more than donuts and HOCKEY! Matter of fact we are going for donuts in our jammies in the morning and I got hockey tickets for my honey for Christmas…all is well:) Merry Christmas Miss Meg.

Lisa - Looks like a perfect night! What fun.

Kate @ Songs Kate Sang - I am totally craving the Krispy Kreme. You are precious.

Heather R. - LOL with the teenage wink. The pics of you and Lauren are great. You crack me up!

Margo - Looks like you had a great time! I haven’t been to a Thunder game in a couple years now – makes me want to go!

Melanie - Looks like a fun night and who doesn’t like a donut to top it off.

Tanya @ Life in 3D - Being from the land of snow and hockey…that would probably be the FIRST guess anyone around here would have if you mentioned going to see a game..lol! {BUT..hockey games are so expensive here it’s a rare occasion to ever get to one!…supply and demand I guess}
GOOD family nights are awesome 🙂

Julie - My kids would love a night like that! Fun family time!

Maria - It has been sooo long since we’ve had KK…might need to break down stop and get some soon…
Looks like a fun night at the hockey game!

shelley - We love hockey !! Definitely a hockey family. My oldest has played on a travel ice hockey team since he was 11 and my hubby is from the midwest..so of course he played from age birth through highschool. Pro hockey events are a blast too ! I love the Krispy Kreme pictures. We had one here but it didnt last long..Californians are just too health conscience i guess.

Whitney Benson - I would buy a gym membership. Can you say SHAMU?? 🙂

Kori - Gotta love hockey!! Thanks to my son, it’s my life. Have great Christmas…

Kat - I love that you guys have special family time.
Looks like such fun and what a beautiful family.
You are very blessed Meg!
Hope your Christmas is wonderful together.

Kate - We used to go to those hockey games when we were at Bethel – they were always a good time! (Love Sean’s Bethel sweatshirt!) 🙂

Julie - Aww, our KK closed a few years ago. They are finally doing something with the building though… Panera!! But this post made me miss the warm KK donuts we used to eat on weekends (or when I was pregnant!)
Family night looks fun. Family night out is still too stressful for us, so it usually involves pizza, movies, and games at home.

lala - I wish there was a Krispy Kreme around here! Fresh donuts, YUM. My mouth is watering. Gas station KK’s are stale and gross – always a disappointment!

se7en - Your kids are totally cool… Just sweet, sweet, sweet!!! Thanks for sharing your life and times!!!

Holly - ok what an awesome night! It is great when you get to have a family night that all of the kids love…especially the teenagers!

sara @ it's good to be queen - that pic of all your kids in the KK booth is so sweet. what a great moment you captured. 🙂

Tanya H - Hee hee, love ya. Our family is going to a college basketball game tonight. Our first ever… should be an adventure! 🙂

Sugar Mama - You crack me up! Love your sense of humor!!!!

Hoosier at Heart - I just love that pic of you in the hat. What were you thinking when that was taken? Your expression cracks me up. Looks like a great time was had by all!

tasha roe - you have the best lips ever!
just sayin’.

Rachel - I live in Canada so hockey is a way of life. I’m so glad your family enjoyed the game! It’s awesome fun…eh?
I could do without the doughnuts, though. I’ve managed to convince myself that they will always disappoint me…wish I could do the same with chocolate.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Jill - What fun! Hey…. just wanted to tell you that I tried one of your craft ideas in my classroom. So fabulous! Thank you for the idea. I have them on my blog… showing off what my students made! Merry Christmas.
http://www.jassman.typepad.com

Carla - All those smiles, fantastic 🙂
I have a mastercard already, what I’d like is someone to pay the bills for me. And a Krispy Kreme Donut nearby.

Kristin Joy - i am glad someone is paying you for this site 🙂 i would if i could, girl. i have loved it now for two years and i appreciate every second you spend on it, & i’d troll through way more ads than that just to read. love it. merry christmas.

Debra - Gotta love hockey! I’m Canadian,eh!

Jodi - Love it when family nights go great. I don’t know how you do it w/ 5 kids though. Just my one can get a bit cranky if sharing the spotlight w/ her cousin. :o)

Jaime A. - lol… the second part of your post is funny!
ur the best, meg.
truly you are! 😉
Oooh, love Krispy Kreme.

Kerri - My husband used to play in that league against the Thunder. Fun times!! 🙂

Tracie - We just moved to a town with a Krispy Kreme and we LOVE it! I have so many childhood memories of the warm donuts sign being on and eating them fresh. YUM!

Phoenix_Rising - I am from the home of Krispy Kremes 🙂
