home.

we are home and i am super tired.
it was a great vacation filled to the top with activites and people.
all good things.

but now i would like to crawl into a cave and sleep and not see people for a week.
ha.
i don’t think that is possible with five kids.

they did let me sleep in until 10 this monring.
and that is something.

we are out of food.
the house is a mess.
there is a TON of laundry to be done.

yay.
job security forever.

it was a fabulous vacation.

🙂

Renee - Christy – you could go far north or south of downtown to get a shot like that. Either to promontory point in Hyde Park or a beach near lincoln park. You could probably get it from North Ave or Fullerton beaches 🙂

susan - Great vivid colors.

T.O. - The pictures of the kiddos flexing their muscles are to die for! Adorable!!

katie4life - Inquiring mind….do people recognize your cute fam when you go places?
What fun kiddos you have! thanks for sharing!

Christy - Where did you go to get those oictures? We are in Chicago now on vacation and I would love to get a shot like that!

tonya mcdaniel - haha…did sean do the “boom, bang, fire power” thing?!

Stephanie - Those pics made me smile! Someday that will be my boys with their little sisters. 🙂 glad you made it home!

Sara Torbett - I sure enjoyed seeing all your vacation photos. We attempted a Chicago vacation with a toddler and baby a couple of months ago. WORST 24 hours ever. As in, we came home after 24 hours! And it was on Mother’s Day, lol. 🙂 So, I lived vicariously through you on this trip. Thanks Meg! 🙂

Alicia @ La Famille - getting back to normal after vacation is the hardest ever! happy laundering…I have to do that too and I wasn’t on vacation…

Jamie - you were in my hometown! 🙂 lovely photos, it’s always refreshing to see someone enjoying that beautiful skyline.

Tiffany - I’m so glad you had a great time! As always, it was fun following you on ig. Job security… I like that!

Molly - Need a vacation from your vacation!!
What a lucky girl to have big brothers like that. those pictures are so fun and so sweet!

Colleen - Sounds exactly like what I am experiencing right now…just change the names and city! There is comfort in getting back to regular like though…I think!

Tracy - We’re leaving for our family vacay to Colorado this Friday. Very excited!
The only bad part about vacation is coming home 🙁 Hate that part!

Jen - So glad you had a wonderful vacation and that you are back home safe and sound. Love the pictures of Talby and her big bros.

Katey - We just got back from church camp and I to am up to my eyeballs in laundry. I was kitchen mom so the boys have given me a few nights off from cooking. Whew. Glad you had a great vacation!! Looked like fun.

Stopped by our first house we ever bought.  We moved in here when Scott was a baby.
We had Sean, Talby and Annie while living here.  We re-did everything in this house and learned so much.
this was a good house.
we made wonderful memories here.

Mindy - What a lovely house and how fun to revisit!

Heather S. - Yep – the Midwest rocks for homes! Our house in Kansas is *nice,* but in Cali it would cost a fortune. We wouldn’t have been able to afford our *starter* home if it were in Cali. Sheesh!
Love the photo-a-day Meg! And your legs – they look nice. Good to see them (in shorts!). 😉

Tamara - So cute! I love going back by old houses I’ve lived in. It would be fun if the current owners would let you see the inside to see if things are the same or not.

Lisa B - I live in Lynnwood, Jennifer, and I was thinking the same thing!!

Michelle whitlow - Aww, what a cute house!!

Lisa Perry - What a beautiful house, great that you went by to visit it 🙂

Sara Torbett - What a beautiful home! 🙂 And stuffed full of memories too….
this picture is a treasure.

angela - I love this!

Jennifer - I can’t believe that’s your first home! In Seattle, where we live, that’s the home everyone has to save, pinch pennies, and wait years to make enough to afford. What a lovely place for memories and another reason the Midwest is awesome.

happygirl - 🙂 I love reliving memories.

Crown Fountain at Millennium Park in Chicago.

nancy m - Your new space is pretty, but the posts have no dates? at least I cant find them. I quickly hit the “345” button to see your first post. Cool that you were able to move the entire thing, but I would like to see the dates on the posts. Welcome to your new home on the web.

Kristen - We just got home from Chicago, and it was AWESOME!!!! But we drove with our 4 kiddos from Philadelphia…two days of close-up lovin’ in the minivan…oh yeah… But it was worth every moment…love the bean, the pizza, the public gathering spots, the art, the river, the everything. So glad you’re having a great trip! 🙂

Viktoria - This is so much fun!
