i can't wait to show you the crafts we are making tomorrow!!!

happy friday night!!!

Tiffany - We had the storm last weekend, so this weekend we had to put the house back together. I so wanted to make a Thankful tree or pennant for the fireplace, I didn’t get to that though. But u have to see Flight, Denzel is ah-mazing! Oh and the movie is good too. It is (and it isn’t) what you think. INTENSE. Very intense.

Ana - I spent all the weekend listening to U2 !! How good is that ?? Love U2 !!!

April - I had a blast! Thank you soo much!

Jennibell - We actually had a wonderfulnweekendnplanned! We traveled out of state so I could stand up with a little girl who was a flower girl in my wedding……she was saying HER vows this weekend……funny how the circle of life works :). Sunday the kids were receiving their Christmas gift….to watch the Cincinnati Bengals play….it will be a full one….can’t wait for my chance to go to Craft Weekend….I put my name on the list in the very beginning…..

Jennifer Kasper - Loving the Photos!!! The beds look comfy, especially with kiddios and husband sometimes a mama needs a break!!! Thanks for the endless hours of inspiration and the “go to” recipies for this family of five. I am thankful I found your blog 4 years ago…. This weekend we had soccer and two birthday parties Saturday, and cleaning and laundry with some skateboarding, art and maybe a movie Sunday. We live in Maui so I love the farms and chipped paint you have. We rust and have bugs…

Lisa - What happy pictures! I had visions of spending all of Saturday in my craft room working away on Christmas gifts. Instead, after cleaning/supervising a play date/a parade/making dinner, I FINALLY made it to the craft room. Within minutes, I was trapped in there (with both children) when my youngest pulled the door knob off. Now I’m hoarse from yelling to my husband who was in the room farthest from me. And wearing headphones. There’s always tomorrow for crafting, right? πŸ˜‰

Anna - We’re going to a holiday market and I hope to finish some Christmas outfits for my girls. Church and children’s choir on Sunday. Since its a 3 day weekend I hope to get some Christmas shopping alone on Monday!

Jen - I so love your pictures. I get so happy when a see a new post here! Hope you’re having an awesome, rockin’ craft weekend! No big plans here. Spending quality time with my two girls – dinner at Cracker Barrel last night, lots of outside play time (having beautiful Nov. weather in Ohio), library. Hubby’s been gone with the Army for the last eight days. They return him to us tomorrow. Yea!!!! I can’t wait to see him!

ChristineW - http://www.netplaces.com/angels-guide/fun-help-from-the-angels/finding-lost-objects.html
Pray to the angels about finding your keys!! Believe me, it works!
Hope to be able to come for a craft weekend sometime. It looks like SO MUCH FUN!

Breeanna @ a brilliant melody - Have fun at the craft weekend! I so wish I could afford to attend one of them! They look amazing! Do you know anyone in San Diego who does something similar?

Lisa - After telling one of the parents (& fellow crafter) at the school I work at about your Craft Weekends, she invited me over tomorrow for a crafting afternoon πŸ™‚
I love seeing all the pictures of your craft weekend!

steph - oh man… i can’t WAIT ’til february!!!! πŸ™‚

Robin Canter - spending wkend at our ‘farm’ in north carolina – our retirement place in 2 years. not a working farm with animals – just lots of acreage. been cleaning out linen closet today and finding some vintage fabrics from years ago! super fun organizing it all. however, i’d rather be crafting in Kansas. πŸ™‚

Hope your weekend is awesome πŸ™‚

Lindsay - Inspired by a post I thought I saw here- or you linked to at some point- my husband and I are assembling bags of stuff for the homeless people we see on the corners who are standing with a sign, begging, etc. Just got back from Fred Meyer (like Wal Mart) with tons of travel size goodies, clean socks, protein bars, etc. A humbling start to our weekend, but as the temps here in Seattle drop below freezing tonight, I’m reminded how blessed we are and thankful we can share our blessings with others on a personal level. And I thank you Meg for being an inspiration.

Jen - i can’t believe this is your ‘job’!! not that it isn’t a lot of work (i’m sure it is) but what an amazing, fun way to ‘work’ right? have such a fun weekend!

my weekend.

this weekend we hosted a retreat at the craft house!
a group of women from a church in colorado came all together in a motor home!
they meet together as a small group to study God's word and to get creative.
these women loved each other, enjoyed being together and were such an encouragement to me.
we had an absolutely AWESOME time.

IMG_8347-1
we got the house all ready…smelling good…sparkling clean…candles lit…music on…just beautiful!

IMG_8362-2
since this weekend was different from a regular Craft Weekend there were no sponsors or swag.

they were A M A Z I N G and they brought their own swag!!!

IMG_8364-4
they each brought a gift for everyone and they put it all together in one bag.
it was SO much fun to watch them open each item and hear the special reason they made or gave it.
it was like christmas!
IMG_8363-3
and they even brought swag for kimberlee and i!!
we were surprised and grateful.

IMG_8367-5
there was a birthday and they toasted their friend!

which meant kimberlee and i got to ride in the motor home!
oh my goodness it was the coolest thing ever.
i want one now!!

Jen - I’m feeling like you are living in quiltville where all the pretty quilts abide and in living in the land of no quilts. I NEED some!! Whenever I see them in our antique shops they are always so expensive. Or maybe I’m just cheap ha! Either way so jealous!

kim - my fav thing about these CW posts is seeing the change in seasons at the barn and what the ladies wear. πŸ™‚
I remember it being so crisp out there – and in the summer it alway struck me funny to see short sleeves and shorts. πŸ˜‰
looks like fall has arrived in kansas now πŸ™‚

Shara - Can’t wait to hear more about each of the ladies!!! Hope your to-do list gets done!!!

she wanted to pose in front of our garden.
since this picture a few days ago we have been infested with green lady bugs…not their real name i know.
and our sunflowers leaves have been devoured.
not cool nature!

IMG_4771-2
she sat down and this red lady bug flew right onto her leg.

i love the stripey capris.

the marker fingers make me so happy.
i love to see that on kids…it means they MADE something!

all the crafts are shown and those are some happy ladies!

WHATEVER CRAFT WEEKEND blog is waiting for you.  :)

Lesley - Hi Meg, I’m going to put coming to one of your craft weekends on my bucket list! It just seems like soooooo much fun. So, can you please keep them going until I get to come?? Thanks!

Trudy - The pom-pom fringe makes me think of the book “Goldilocks Returns” by Lisa Campbell Ernst. Have you ever read that Meg?

Lori Austin - What fun you girls are having with these super special weekends. I’m parked on my rear end with mono – the bright colors and happy faces are cheering me up. Thanks. πŸ™‚

Jen H. - Love it! How fun!
My favorite craft was the freestyle canvas. I would love it if you could do a tutorial on that. Esp. the best way to get the letters on there. So many pretty and creative pieces!

beth davis - It was a pretty day in Kansas on Saturday, so I decided to trek it to Marion to the antique store – unbeknowst to me, there was a van-filled with the CRAFT WEEKEND girls! It was fun to see a glimpse into the weekend.
The sweet lady behind the counter invited me to follow you all out to the ‘barn’ – what a cool place!
Anyway – I felt like a ‘fly on the wall’ for a brief moment – not wanting to invade your fun, but it was very neat to see.
BTW – I am on the waiting list, too!
Glad you all had a great weekend!
Beth

happygirl - You are the bravest woman I know.

stephany @ home is what you make it - What a great weekend!
Thanks for the inspiration!!

Molly - your craft weekend post just made me so happy! i can only imagine how happy it would make me to be there! πŸ™‚

the bathroom has painted walls….they are gray.
tile starts monday.
we have a contractor….lots of you have asked if we were doing the work ourselves….no.
not this project.
craig is the designated painter and demo guy and finish-upper guy.
i am le dΓ©corateur (sleepless in seattle).

our house smells like spray paint……those are all empty.
IMAG0431-2

kimberlee helped me set up all day today.
we took a happy hour break….instantly refreshed.

craig has been a painting machine for me.
IMAG0429-1

Dana @ Bungalow'56 - Megan,
You always inspire me with your photos. How you think to take them from different angles and perspectives. It is one of many things of course I enjoy when I visit. Enjoy your weekend. It will be a wonderful success, as we can all see the care and attention that is going into it.
Dana

Aneta Kudasik - Awesome! You guys are working so hard. Can’t wait to see pics of the craft weekend.
You know, on your craft weekend website, I can’t seem to find a calendar or schedule of Craft Weekends. Is there something like that there?

Colleen - You have inspired me to redo one of my rooms. This is why I love your blog.

Amy @ www.littleforalittlewhile.blogspot.com - oooh, we’re just starting our bathroom remodel. Knocked down walls this weekend. And guess what visited us last night? A BAT! Yikes! And nasty. Hoping no more creatures find their way in while this project is underway. Yay for craft weekend, I dream of coming one day!

Lisa B - It looks like we’re moving to a new house and a giant blank slate. First step is to hire painters. I’m a bit overwhelmed because there are so many different looks you could go for. What do I want my home to look like when friends come to visit? Welcoming, bright, full of life. Then I realized, I want it to look like yours. So eclectic. I know you do a lot of thrift/antique shopping, but do you have a list of your home paint colors and where you’ve bought the major items in your home? I need some rockin’ rugs too. Thanks!

Jennifer - Lynette’s noodles with ham are on the table, ready for dinner. Thanks for sharing the recipe. This rainy January day called for a comfort dinner. Yum!

Kara D - wellll just when I think I can’t love your blog more, you throw out quotes from my favorite movies!! get out of my brain, meg! πŸ™‚ “hello diane, want to come and take a look at these swatches?!”

you are inspiring…in your sleepless state…keep on inspiring!!!

Please take a picture for me so I can
relive it in my memory. Ha!

xo.

Jenn - Wow that is a lot of work… But you are going to have such a wonderful time at craft weekend! And all this time you have spent preparing will be SUCH a blessing to the ladies who are coming :). Good work.

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - Oh and those seat cushions? LOVE the vibrant colors!

Sarah @ Handbags*N*Pigtails - One of these times I WILL treat myself to a craft weekend with you! And yay for gray bathrooms. Ours is finally {just about…ahem} finished now.
Next up? Painting the kitchen. The cleaners did a great job of washing all the walls down for me after the fire so now all we have to do is repair the burnt part of the wall and paint away!
Is Craig painting beds? I got to thinking: you should beg him to finish the 3rd floor off and make it a bunk room for Craft Weekends. Think of how awesome it would look with all the beds lined up with old quilts. Im sure he’d love that idea:)

Mindy Harris - yay for craft weekend! cute chair cushions and just look at those swag bags! what a blessing for those ladies.
